I can't bear greasy eggs so we don't use any oil at all for frying. We have a tefal pan so it doesn't stick but to get the tops to cook we put the lid on.. sounds weird I know but it really does work (I say lid but it's a random plate thing we have as we haven't got a lid)
hope that helps.. you might have to experiment with times a bit to keep your yolk runny
I eat beetroot out the jar like it's sweets  love it :rotfl: and pickled onions..
I think I just need to get into the habit of putting veg with my meals, it's not something I've done much before.. might try that red cabbage recipe thanks, I've just started eating savoy cabbage so it might appeal!
Jalfrezi recipe from last night - I've added my tweaks in purple so that I can print it on here, so technically it's my recipe
1 onion, finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, finely chopped (I used jarred)
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp chilli powder
750g chicken breast, chopped
4 peppers, red and yellow, sliced
400g can tomatoes (I missed this out and used extra passata and a bit of water)
200g passata (see above I used 500g passata)
2tsp ground ginger (missed this out)
1tbsp ground cumin
1tbsp ground coriander
I also added 1 tbsp. garam masala
Serve with 350g rice, 1 red chilli and fresh coriander sliced to garnish
- Stir fry onion and garlic with frylight for 4-5 mins until softened
- mix turmeric and chilli in a bowl and coat the chicken pieces, add to the pan and lightly brown for 6-8 mins
- stir in the peppers, tomatoes, passata and spices
- cover and simmer for 20-30 minutes (add water if it becomes too dry)
What's this please *intrigued face*:D
Just had my cheesy chilli fries  they were amaze-b*lls :rotfl:
First time I've cooked it so can't be sure on taste but everyone at my club raves about it:
Gammon joint
2 tins baked beans
2 orange peppers diced
1 large onion diced
2 tbs smoked paprika
2 garlic cloves crushed
6 tbs tomato pur!e
Chuck it all in slow cooker for at least 6 hours
Pull gammon with forks when cooked and mix with other ingredients
Supposed to be lush0 -
Tried the campfire stew at a taster.. It was very nice but was a bit salty.. The person that made it hadn't soaked the gammon, definitely a good one for the slow cooker on a chilly day0

Definitely need to try this; bf wouldn't eat it though - do you think it would freeze?
I missed lunch, entirely by accident as I went round to bf's grandparents with wonder bairn then to morrisons and got a pumpkin (99p) and some pomegranites...apparently super picky bf will eat these! win! plus a couple of other offers then to poundstretcher (didn't have what we needed) and then a new poundworld and pets at home! Busy busy. Did have a 2 finger kit kat with my tea at bf's grandparents though so thats 5.5 syn
Got the pork in and it's smelling divine! Can't wait but before I cook my veggies I have a few other jobs to do. Not feeling like roasties so will make mashed tatties and not feeling the yorkshire either (so super rare for me as they are usually my favourite bit!) so the whole plate will be syn free and I will have a small glass of rose tonight************************************

Hope it freezes as I will have some portions left over - hopefully:eek:0 -
Thank you for all the ideas on cooking eggs!
Just goes to show you get used to doing things one way. I've always flicked oil over the top to cook the surface white and leave the yolk runny, and never flip the egg else it cooks too much and the runny yellow is the best bit. Hubby only knew that method as well - we will try lids next time!

Doesn't look much liquid in it, is there some stock missing from the recipe? Would think after 6 hours it would be dry as a bone :rotfl:Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Its cured in salt so soaking for about 12 hours change water then 12 more. Depending on size of joint. Overnight usually does it.
Still wondering where all the liquid comes from though, can only see beans having some. Must be missing something.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
