Good plan :T it was me with the menu cards Mumoftwo - this is ours, I had a bit of a crafting session and made it all pretty...
I was well chuffed with it as I've never done anything like that before..
The meal cards have the meal on the front, ingredients and recipe reference on the back.. I can't tell you how much less stressed I feel when we have to do the weeks planning now.. :j
Wow, that's lovely! So pretty. It's a really great idea. Done it with my rough version yesterday, made a shopping list in 10 min, went shopping and only spent £60 (had a £5 off voucher as well)
I've done a page for SW lunches for myself as well and a quick and convenient meals page. It has made such a difference. I do have a pretty binder but will need to type up and prettify the pages, might even include a photo of finished dish, could be handy for my DDs
Lots of housework to do today and some errands to run. Determined to go swimming tonight though, just an hour to myself peaceful up and down the lanes
b: mushrooms, egg, beans orange
L: chicken salad, yogurt (.5 syn)
T: what we call Dutch macaroni : macaroni with cubed ham, leeks, peppers, carrot in tomato sauce (.5 syn for oil)
HEa: milk, cheese
HEb: 3 ryvita with cottage cheese
Syns: not that many as I had a champagne magnum last night (13 syns) on top of my already eaten 15syns, it was lush though
Have a good day good luck with weigh ins0 -
Welcome back from your holiday maisie and enjoy your break tazzy.:)
As Maman said!lushlifesaver wrote: »*sneaks in* can I come back in?
Of course you can. You know everyone will welcome you back with open arms - just the same as consultants welcome back people who have left and come back.
I've had a tough time food wise as when I'm tired/feeling off/overwhelmed i get the munchies and I have succumbed far too many timesI want to make a proper commitment to myself now and losing weight is, for me, an investment in my self confidence and a good reason for some 'me time'
You are right the commitment is to yourself and an investment in yourself. Everyone needs some 'me time'.
Breakfast and lunch at work are sticky points ta the moment; I've been back three weeks and have started eating breakfast at work so have been taking flavoured porridge sachets that I had left but I've finished them all now. I'm thinking of making a batch of mini omlette bites the night before which I can take and just heat up in the microwave there. Any other ideas for free/perhaps very low syn make ahead breakfasts?
I used to make breakfast muffins - fry off some chopped bacon & mushrooms and stir through some beaten eggs then spoon into muffin tins - silacon ones work best (don't use paper cases because they stick and lose half the muffin!). Cook at about 180 for 15-20 minutes until firm to the touch. They are nice hot or cold.
Lunch wise I think this is where I'll use my HeB for a sandwich or ryvita/similar to go with homemade soupswith it dropping much much colder I'm more than happy with soup or no/low syn leftovers every day!
How about making crustless quiche or fritatta and having a piece of that with salad? Although have to say my favourite lunches were always leftovers from the night before because it was usually much more filling than a salad.
Evening meals are where I'll use most of my syns so that bf and I are eating as similar a meal as possible. I'm not going to rejoin a group for now as I just don't have the time, money or energy so I'll likely use Google (other search engines available) or the addage '20Kcal = 1 syn' or ask on here though I think I risk becoming annoying if I just keep asking here
Ask away about syns, no-one will mind and as you know someone will always come along shortly after you've posted with the answer.
I haven't weighd myself in a while and have definitely gained since then (lots of weekends away as we've bought a caravan! and two weeks on holiday at various UK coastal resorts) so I expect I'm back up to 2.5-3st to lose and I'd like at least a stone gone by Christmas. I'm going to weigh myself on Friday at the local chemist as that's when I'll have chance. Think I will buy myself some digital scales for at home and put them away under the cot on non-weigh days
Good luck, I'm sure you'll be able to lose about a stone by Christmas - it's less than 2lb per week.
Oof sorry that's a bit of an essay but here I am...starting again...(again)I ordered myself a (weekly planner) calendar last night which I hope will help with my meal planning. It runs from now (well August actually) to December 2015. Thank you to whoever suggested the index cards, I think I am going to write out menu ideas and meals on the cards (for reference) and then use them to help decide and fill in my appointments and meals on the calendar.
Flat Eric that's a brilliant idea for meal planning. I just type up a table on Word and hang that on the fridge with magnets! It works for me.
I was going to post my menu here but have decided this post is long enough already:rotfl:, so will make a 2nd post with my menu plan for today.

Hi!!:hello:I am not a big breakfast eater and usually make the mistake of rushing to work with little or no breakfast and then snacking on syns throughout the morning. I try to vary my breakfast so a variety of cereals that I can have as my HEB either at home or measure up in a bowl and take to work with me. I quite like a piece of toast as a B option. not enough really to keep me going but something at least. I need to be more organised and have my toast but then prep fruit to munch on. Sometimes I make egg muffins. so fry off lightly some bacon which I use to line a muffin tray then add whatever mix I want (eg mushrooms/peppers) then crack an egg on top and cook up in the oven. These make an ideal breakfast snack (tastier cold?) which I suppose if I was super organised, I could heat up with some beans.
I staerted leaving the house without having breakfast, but then I am at work early and it is quiet here at 8am, so I have a bowl of porridge here (with free milk, tea and coffee provided by work as a bonus). This morning I was ready to go, but was starving, so had quick scrambled eggs (no toast), then quark, coffee, tea at work and some clementines. We also have fruit at work too, so that helps me rein in a bit and grab a banana or apple instead of the chocolate.
I know I am not supposed to, but I do hop on the scales most of the morning before the shower. And even though I thought it was not the worst weekend and we were active, not stuck on the sofa, my weight increased 0.7lb. I guess it will be because I am not drinking much over the weekend - when I am at work, I always have fruit teas and water with me on the desk, but then when at home or out and about, I just forget to drink. So, the goal today - 4 glasses of water on top of 3 huge mugs of herbal tea whilst AT WORK. Plus at least another pint of water once I get home.
I still need to sit down with OH and plan the dinners better. I have requested a leg of lamb for Thursday though with lots of roast veg.... If he manages to find a lamb in this country that doesn't break the bank!!!!!!!!!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Back again with my menu plan for today:
Was going to have another Red day but haven't got enough salad to go with some ham until I go shopping tomorrow so have decided on an EE day today.
B - bacon, pepper & spring onion omlette; grapes
L - HM pepper & lentil soup, HEB bread
D - LO beef bourgignon, potatoes, cabbage & brocolli
HEA - milk in tea throughout the day
No idea what syns I'll have today but will definitely be having some as didn't use anywhere near as many over the weekend as usual:A.

Thank you everyone:)
joedenise do you have a recipe for crustless quiche?
Those breakfast bites are similar to my mini omelette bites only I just have cherry tomato and mushroom in most mornings. I always forget about fritata and used to love it. May have to make some one day with the tinned new potatoes in the cupboard, some onions and peas
lots to do today but wonder bairn is far from herself so nothing has been achieved yet!************************************

Had a bit of an issue at KFC. I thought be healthy and stick to the Syns.
So ordered a Small Popcorn chicken (7), large BBQ Beans (free) and a Pepsi Max (free).
Girl behind the counter refused my order and said it'd be cheaper if I got a meal deal, there was a huge queue.
So I ended up with large popcorn chicken, large fries, a small BBQ beans and a drink.
I complained at the girl who gave me my order, who substituted the small beans for a large beans.
So was a bit miffed but counted out 14 popcorn chickens, ate the beans and drank the drink, gave the rest to my mate who was in KFC heaven.
I then realised the Pepsi Max tasted too nice and was a real Pepsi, this was after I'd drunk half a litre of it.
I think I just about got away with it.0 -
Shala – Do you think going to class would bring any help or motivation?? If so get that man down there!! I know everyone is different and benefits from different things, but for me the discipline of getting weighed each week and having to go there keeps me from going too wild. I need someone else to be weighing me etc and to know my weight lol or I’d just start lying to myself about what the scales say. Once I am in class I am accountable for my behaviour ha ha .
I think at the minute i have a good day and then have a bad day and think "oh well, i'll start again tomorrow" and it doesn't matter because i'm not getting weighed. So whereas i'm not gaining weight i am quite static and it's annoying
I've been considering it for a while but the money aspect puts me off.. i guess i just need to get to target really quickly so i don't have to pay :rotfl:
I'm the same as you the fear of the scales will keep me accountable.. well lets hope so!!jockosjungle wrote: »Had a bit of an issue at KFC. I thought be healthy and stick to the Syns.
