I feel off the wagon last night.
The day started well with porridge (HEB), then I went with DD to Newcastle to look after DGD while DD went for a scan. We were distracted before she collected me and I forgot lunch. At 3.30 I was feeling headachey and dizzy. Not good when left in charge of 2 yr old in busy shopping centre :)

I found John Lewis cafe and the only thing wheat free was a tomato tart with salad. I thought I would eat the filling and the salad. It was tiny and the salad was 2 cherry tomatoes and a couple of leaves of lettuce. We set towards home at 5.30 stopped at Mr A for shopping. I had two small apples to eat in car then was home by 8pm by which time I was feeling desperate for foods. To make something quickly I had gnocchi with a tomato pasta sauce, followed by too much red wine, then DH's peanuts before bed!! I was hungry and very tired. I feel as though I have scuppered all my good work but I know I had no syn all week. I have to do the same thing in 3 weeks time so I will be better prepared.

ETA I chose the tart because it seemed to have fewer calories than a GF cake. It came loaded with dressing and I had to eat something quickly. Being wheat intolerant and eating out can be tricky, though usually places have a soup or jacket potato..

Congratulations on the lovely losses :T

Thanks for your lovely positive post Lantanna, hopefully we will all get to where we want and feel very similar. I'm never going to lose my tummy either!

There is a veggie burger recipe on the SW page but I base mine on the Jack Monroe one (www.agirlcalledjack.com).

Thanks for the link, I'll have a proper look sometime as I do want to attempt some burgers, but after I checked what veg I had and needed using, I ended up making a huge cottage pie type thing. Carrots, courgettes, red peppers, green lentils and quorn mince in the base, and potato, parsnip and swede in the topping with a bit of cheese. Much enjoyed by me and hubby last night and should be enough for everyone for tea tonight :)

Out to lunch at my MILs today. No idea what we will get, but did ask for veg for the kids. She's on the Cambridge diet (she told us after she'd signed up and paid otherwise I'd have suggested SW!) but I guess we won't be getting any of the meal replacement rubbish!

Not sure of my menu plan for today. I've had scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast and dinner tonight is beef bourgignon. Probably having that with mashed swede and a green veg of some sort, maybe cabbage or brocolli.

Thinking I may have a Red day and have a ham salad at lunchtime but not sure at the moment.

It's so irritating when you've got lunch prepared and forget it. I tend to nip into somewhere like Lidl and buy a pack of chicken tikka pieces to graze on. Or head to a Spud u Like or Pret a Manger. That's the best option for syn free food in our city centre.

I'm making burgers for supper tonight. They won't be free as CBA to go elsewhere and Aldi only had 10% mince. I'll pat off as much fat as possible after cooking and hope for the best. And I'm off to football so have to eat half a Crunchie (it's the law;)) with my coffee. So a fairly high syn day but OK as I'll be eating syn free all week. Well that's the plan.

    EE menu:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB toast, scrambled eggs, HEA milk for drinks
L: probably jacket with cottage cheese and beetroot
D: burger, fried onions, mushy peas, tomatoes, mushrooms, SW chips/wedges
Syns: squirt of HP sauce, half Crunchie,, some in burger, weekend wine:D

Brilliant loss overall :T Can't see us doing 8 stone in a week though :rotfl:

I forgot why I was going to MILs. Birthday dinner (it's not until in the week but she wanted to have the grandchildren round) and definitely not on either SW or the Cambridge Diet :o

    Well done all!

I started with porridge for breakfast, coffee and banana.
Made an omlette with mushrooms to take with us for lunch/snacks, and had a box of sushi from Aldi too. Our lunch was the omlette, sushi, schnitzel for OH and pommes frittes for OH and kids (I am pround of myself thst I only tried one small pommes and that is it). But then I did have most of the sushi (it was a small box, 274 cal said on the box, and my daughter has a little bit too) and omlette. Followed by apple, grapes, raspberries and clementines. I declined coffe later( coffee for me is latte usually) and went for a herbal tea instead with no cake (a small HM biscuit instead), which was good both for the die t and for the wallet.

The dinner however was the worst. Since we were out all day (we have swimming course for kids on Sat morning, and went to the bog park afterwards, where we only left at 5:30pm), we made pizza. I had quarter of the batch left of the dough from 'artisan bread in 5 min), so we quickly rolled it out, spread some passata, half a ball of mozzarella over it, a teaspoon of red pesto, fresh mushrooms and bacon. Not as bad as takeaway or frozen ones, I am sure (the dough has no fat, there would have been some oil in the pesto and a bit on the bacon), but still - it is the flour (one pizza for kids and a bit bigger one for us. so I would say 80-100g of flour in there?). Tried to redeem myself with a grapefruit....

I know I did not have enought ved today, but was too tired to make a salad.... Will try to be better tomorrow...

    Hello

    Congrats, kiwisaver

Maman, hope you had a better football experience than me!

Thanks, Shala, for the lovely chart. Unfortunately the football was awful and we lost 3-0 :(

    Saturday's menu

Breakfast: French toast, strawberries, raspberries and maple syrup (1 syn)
Lunch (en route to Dumfries, 'cos DH decided he was "starving"): white roll with ham salad - no idea of syns for roll, plus it had some sort of unidentifiable spread on it
Post match snack (because DH didn't want to wait until we got home): a slice of [STRIKE]delicious[/STRIKE] dreadful coconut & lime cake (well I needed cheering up, didn't I? Who am I kidding? If we'd won I'd have eaten it to celebrate!)
Dinner: half of a murgh sumundri (Chicken breast cooked in a special bhuna sauce including fresh ginger, garlic, tomatoes, onions, tomato puree touch of cream & sprinkling of fresh coriander) with boiled rice. I did not eat any of the garlic naan. :A

So, all in all, a disastrous day. :(

    Good luck tomorrow all.
