Depending on how you like to use your syns ginvzt, you could have, say, a treat of going to a kaffee and kuchen once a week. It's much safer that way than having cake in the house.

That is nice idea, especially if I take my kids with me, as then they eat their small treats and half of mine! I also love baking, and I am going to keep doing it, but try and take the sweets out of sight as soon as possible - taking to the work, friends, hiding in the cupboard for kids.

Talking of Christmas stuff, it is in the shops here too.... It used to be they will get halloween stuff out of the way first and then bring the Christmas stuff out, but not this year. I had to hold myself from getting a Panettone - my favourite cake for Christmas... We could eat one in half with OH over evening. Not this year!!!!!!!!I am not a fan of stollen or nuts, so that is ok, but Panettone......

    B: Porridge pancakes (HeA), banana
L: Salad, herring, HM pitta bread (I know, syns...), grapes, and quark-yogurt-raspberry (HeB) desert with one small HM meringue crushed on top.
D: I am going to try diet coke chicken tonight with a bit of rice maybe...

  • Thanks everyone! Well done to Jock and Jellybean! Some great losses there!

I'm still poorly. Can't eat anything and keep it in. Gonna try some dry crackers. I feel like my mouth needs something salty. Really need to get myself better for the weekend! :(

    Afternoon all.

I've been catching up with the recent posts and wanted to reply to a few (in no particular order).

Firstly, Thanks everyone again for their support. I signed up for the 12 week countdown last night so will try my best over the next 12 weeks and see if I can make a difference to my weight loss and lose some pounds in time for xmas. I know it would have been silly to put things on hold until January. I thought signing up for the countdown would commit me....

I am looking forward to getting the xmas book that came free with the countdown - has anyone had this yet?

I've decided on a red day today and my menu was Porridge for my breakfast (HEB). Mid morning snack of crackers 3 x 2 syns so 6 syns plus my HEA of cheese.

Dinner tonight is beef gou lash. May be with stir fry veg.

Lunch was my other HEB - new covent garden soup. carrot and coriander.
    So in no particular order.

In our group slimmer of the week is awarded to the person who attended group the week before and either lost or maintained and then attends the next week and loses the most. new members attending in their second week for their first weigh after their first week of slimming world don't qualify as usually the first weight loss can be quite a bit. I've found that men do usually have bigger weight losses so qualify for the award more than the females. Pft. I have always thought there should be a male and female slimmer of the week.

Syns. I think its recommended we have at least 5 a day. Some members have no syns and save them up for weekend treats, others spend their syns each day. I suppose it is individual preference and what works for you. I think its best to have some each day and then use the flexi syn option if you have a night out. (i.e. set yourself a higher syn limit) then straight back on track the next day.

    Sorry one more thing.

When I weighed at a later group, I ate my dinner before class and found actually it worked better for me because I was less likely to pick and eat the wrong things post weigh in. I think if you stick with the same plan each week i.e. same kind of clothes, same kind of eating habits, then you will be fine.

Flat Eric - I absolutely agree with you that it doesn't matter what you do as long as you do the same every week.

On your menu today it looks as though you only had cheese as your HEA but did you perhaps have a 2nd HEA with your porridge? If not, do you make your porridge with wate or, like me, use a Mullerlight?

I think fair enough give out a sticker, I'm unsure why they get a basketful of food. It would seem to breed resentment, I daren't win it next week.
  • Well, finally on laptop after my first weigh in, and i'm pleased to say i'm 3lb lighter!!! :D:D:D:D:D

    Can you tell i'm happy??

Every right to be happy CP. Fab loss :T

Spiced Chocolate Almonds - yum!!!! I need those

Oh no you don't need them lantanna :D. If we had some I don't think I would have enough willpower to ration them out atm so better leave them on the shelf for a bit longer.

Well did my weigh in and lost 5lbs! I was Slimmer of the Week and got a tin of pilchards, a tin of spaghetti, 3 apples, two bananas and the strawberry mullerlight I didn't much like back.

So 12.5lbs lost in 2 weeks, I put myself down for 3lbs loss this week which will get me a stone sticker.

Another man has joined the group!

Congratulations on your loss and SOTW jock :T Hopefully you will get your 1 stone shiney next week :D

    Hi everyone

Still in shock! Managed to lose 4 lbs last night:T

Now for the hard part - to keep it going!!

    Great loss Jellybaby :T

Hi everyone. Sorry I've been MIA, been really off it with all the antibiotics etc.
Anyway, a STS at weigh in today.
Can't complain really but feel a bit miffed. Hoping I do much better on the slinky Santa challenge than this one.
    Food today,
    Milk
    2slices brown hovis
    B toast and banana
    L mushroom ommlette
D sticky chicken with noodles and stirfry veg (2) strawbs and mullerlight.
Maybe a hifi bar later if I'm peckish

Hope you are feeling better Matron Midge. I'm on high dose abs atm and they are huge - really massive to get down. Here's hoping for a fab loss next week.

In our group the Slimmer of the Week Fruit Basket is usually shockingly bad so no one ever wants it anyway.

Most people seem to bring something that is or on the verge of being off!!!!

Don't think I'll be doing brussell sprouts again - serious uncomfortable bloating : (
  • Some great posting and advice there, thanks Flat Eric :D
