When I did Fresh Start (NHS equivalent of SW) I made the mistake of cycling for 2 hours beforehand and then thinking I would have a big drink after weigh in. I lost 6lbs that week but had to do similar for the remaining four weeks of the classes!
My weigh in is tonight, I feel I've done well this week and not slipped up so would like a decent loss, I struggle to judge the difference from my own scales to their scales, so not sure how much they'll think I've lost.
Hopefully I'll be a Slimmer of the week contender though!
Good luck for tonight! It's mine to and I'm just 2lb off a shiny but despite my home weighing I can't get a handle on the difference either. I know I shouldn't do it, but then I worry that if I don't weigh then I'll suddenly gain a load of weight?! It was what started me on SW when after a few weeks I weighed myself and it was going up again rather than down.
For many weeks to start with I always kept my shoes on. Then one week when I hadn't been very good and thought at best I'd STS, I took them off. 0.5lb off. So I'd say first WI wear heavy clothes and keep your shoes on, then you can always change on a bad week :rotfl:A random trawl on the internet saw me read a post about a woman who left her group as she was annoyed by never getting Slimmer of the Week. She was a member for four weeks only! I thought this was a bit bonkers but then that is just me!!
Crabapple - I have no other half , but the ex contender for the other half did say please don't let your boobs go and a man in my work who is always highly inappropriate did once say it would be a sad day if my boobs went. :rotfl: Men!! Lol
Sick of the speed soup now - think theres enough for two bowls but not sure I can face them and the roof is nearly coming off at night!!!!!!!!!!!
I actually can't wait to start a new challenge, I've not been focused at all during this one. But I can feel a getting slinky for santa focus coming along!!!!!!!
I have had SOTW once and it was after about 16 weeks in class. I don't mind having smaller losses, as long as I have a lossWe've got quite a few men in the group and they often get it, but they are all lovely. I'm only trying to lose weight for me and my family, not competing with everyone else there!
That's not a great comment, but nowhere near as bad as one or two things that have been said to me over the years. I'd like to think at my age and with 2 young kids no-one would make comments any more!
Oh yep, we're all going to get slinky! I've put off buying my Christmas pyjamas (not necessarily Christmas themed ones but just nice new warm ones!) in the hopes I'll be able to get a smaller size:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

I think its bonkers too Latanna, I often hear moans from group members that its not fair to give slimmer of the week to new members as when you have lots to lose you usually do get a big loss. personally I don't care as long as I get a loss or don't put on
I am happy.
Yes the speed soup does have that effect on some people :rotfl:
Sometimes I am pleased I live alone no one to offend, bonus though I think it helps keep the heating bill down :rotfl:
I havent been too focused on this challenge either but love the idea of slinky for santa and shifting this 1.1/2 lb I am faffing about with.Slimming World at target0 -
Jings, this is a busy thread today!
Congrats on fab loss and all those awards, b-e-g.
Thanks for pancake recipe, maman. I’ll have a go at that
Well done, swiper, ginvzt
Denise, I hope you don’t mind but I’m having one of your virtual hugs even although I know why I’ve gained this week. +1 lb for me, shala, sorry
Lantanna, you’re really getting great positive reinforcement now, with clothes and make up etc. Well done. That should help you maintain your healthy weight.
Sorry you had a tough week, wishus.
Well today is messed up again, but sort of in a good way, SW wise.Daughter's birthday celebration has been postponed until Thursday as her brother can't manage tonight. So no meal out. As I hadn't got anything for tonights dinner, I'll settle for a Batchelor's Cheese & Broccoli pasta with green beans.

Just used up 5 syns on a 25g pkt of coco pops. Which is like a couple of spoonfuls :rotfl:
Had oat bran, banana and skimmed milk for breakfast. Scrambled eggs and tomatoes for lunch followed by a fat free yogurt. Been busy decorating all morning. after lunch I did my 1.5 mile brisk walk in 30 mins and came back and was peckish!
Not too much in as it's shopping day tomorrow so coco pops it had to be.0 -
Spent most of the morning and part of the afternoon shopping, and only just had lunch! I did take a banana with me to stop me being tempted whilst out.
SHALA I will be away when the new challenge starts, so would you please put me down for another 4lbs.
EE Menu:
B: GF cereal & BD milk. Tea with milk.

I think I must be one of the lucky ones. I put on weight on my bust (well all over) when I was fat, went up from 36B to a very tight 38D. After getting to target I lost weight in my back but not the cups! Am now a 34D and very pleased with that.:D
Things are a bit messed up here too greentiger but not in a good SW way. DH arranged with his sister to go out for a belated birthday lunch tomorrow. I had hoped to stay fully on plan until Thursday WI not that I feel as if I've lost anything.:( So I'm out for lunch Wednesday and Thursday THEN I'll have a week on plan....
Today's EE menu:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB toast, 2 fried eggs, HEA milk for teas
L: ham, cornichons, beetroot, fried veg (potatoes, tomato, spring onion, cauli, mushrooms, peas)liver & onions, mash, carrots, cauli, cabbage, peas
Syns: gravy and squirt of HP sauce0 -
Well done losers. Chin up STS and gainers.
My WI last night was not as bad as feared.
STS again for me this week please Shala.
Will try to do better this week.0 -
Lidl seem to have had the Christmas stuff in for bloomin weeks Shala. DH has said that once this packet of gingerbread stuff has gone - think he might have one left since Saturday and I've only had one - he won't buy any more til nearer Christmas. Talking of deliciousness but I daren't dwell on them for too long - Lidl spiced chocolate covered almonds nom nom nom - probs put 2lb just thinking of them. Could the almonds count as hexb and the milk milk chocolate as hexa or is that not quite how it all works :rotfl:I don't know if it is on SW online, but here is the recipe:
Thanks ginvzt will give them a go very soon
Will catch up some more later.

CP are you a vegetarian? i think Denise is working from the fact that your days look like green days (from the old plan) rather than an extra easy day.
For green days you can have 2 Hebs and 1 or 2 heas..
If you're following EE then it is just 1 heb and 1 hea a day..
Ginvzt - i think the current challenge ends on 26th October.. new one starting the day after, on the 27th, so i can add a target on for you up to the 26th October if you want or you can wait for the new challenge to start.. up to youLooking at your menus it seems you are following the Green Plan, so you can have 1 or 2 HEA plus 2 HEB.
If you can, it might be a good idea just to go to a group to get the books & have the new member talk - that way you'd have a far better understanding of how the plans work. They'll only talk about EE but if you are Veggie (or want to follow Green) then tell the consultant so she can go through the Green plan with you.
Denise
Beaten to it again, LOL!
Thanks for the replies! I'm doing EE but my meal plan for today looked rubbish as the thought of food today hasn't gone great. I've managed a small sandwich, which i only ate because i know i need something on my stomach.
I'm also deffo not a veggie. I LOVE meat, lol
And I do go to class. I joined last week. My first weigh in is tonight, which me luck!
Feeling a little better now compared to earlier. Fingers crossed its going!
Thanks to everyone for all your tips/advice/support. What a lovely thread and bunch of people on here!

Evening all
Not been in for a few days. Need to catch up, but in the meantime I'd like to log a STS for this week, please Shala. Been off the wagon for a few days. Now back on it with a vengeance.
Right, time to settle down with a coffee for a read....0
