    Morning All, Happy Monday

SO just weighed in, and I'm now 16st 12lb so a loss of another -2lb.

I would normally be a bit cheesed off with only 2lb, but it was just really nice to know I'd had that chocolate cake, eaten lots of food actually, although stuck to the plan of course, but I still lost 2lb. And it's * week too so all is ok on the pond this morning. It feels like a relief to be in the 16's also.

I figure we have 5 weeks of the challenge remaining, and I pledged to be in the 15's by the end. So by my reckoning I need to lose another 13lb, that's an average of 2.5lb each week. That is doable.

Wishing you all very well. Good luck to all the others weighing in. Let's keep going ladies.

I must try the mushroom and bacon quiche! Maybe I'll do that tmw, if I can find time :D I have to go to the Pain Clinic tmw and then I have to do a workshop thingie for people (yes I feel as vague about this as it sounds) in the evening :/

I have to say Maisie, although you are certainly correct, that rice can be dodgy as hell, I've never, ever, ever rinsed it under cold water before making fried rice, I just put it straight from the hot saucepan into the hot wok/frying pan... (I'm still alive!) I wouldn't leave it in the fridge for over 24 hrs as that's supposed to be tres dodgy...

I have to admit I would have thought using the rice hot would have been the best way to do it but all the recipies I looked up said to use cold rice so that is what we did but I was a bit anxious about it. Like you I would be worried about keeping rice for 24 hours.

Although in saying that I had a friend who used to make a huge pan of rice and then they would chill it quickly and portion it up and stick it in the freezer for quick rice. Always sounded a bit suspect to me but they had been doing it for years and were still alive lol.

oh yeah I freeze it! If you freeze it straight away! If I make Nasi Goreng I always freeze extra portions and yep, I'm def still alive! I'd be more likely to freeze it than put it in the fridge. I find, if you use cold rice to make fried rice, you either need more fat, or more liquid of some kind (soy sauce or something) to get it all flavoured, whereas if you use it hot, and still a big soggy it gets all coated nicely which will def be better if you're cooking with fry light! I eat tons of rice and I've never been ill from it, and I don't know anyone that has, but it is definitely one of the ones they say is worst.

  • Morning folks, woke up feeling like I've been hit by a bus and realised it's * week on the day of my first weigh in!!

I'm not holding out any hope for it whatsoever, feeling like a balloon. Bit cheesed off cos I went to the pics last night and sat with my banana, pot of fruit and diluting juice while my hungover pal scoffed a giant bag of crisps, peanut M&M's, two bottles of juice and got me to stop at KFC on the way home!!!! :rotfl:

However hopefully the good work will be in the bank for next week!!!

    Today is EE:

    B: Beans on toast (HEXB)
L: Warm noodle salad with loads of SF veggies
D: Having mums colly cheese as a treat after weigh in!!! She uses reduced fat cheddar so I guess that's my HEXA plus some some syns. Don't even care I feel so fed up today haha.

Hope you all have a great day and some sort of miracle happens before 5.30 tonight for me!!!!xxx

Daisy - I too am feeling like a balloon. Star week here also. The evil cold has scuppered any plans of being on plan over the weekend : (

Thursday night - out for dinner Chicken Burger, Chips & Coleslaw & 2 Cocktails
Friday night - Chicken Curry with Half Chips / Half Fried Rice from the Chinese
Yesterday - Paella, Meatballs and Ice cream at a Fair

Trying to reign it back it now - must remotivate and refocus for Thursday though to try and minimise the gain !

Today has involved carrot cake and vodka... and not an awful lot else, but I'm within syns :D

i took a lovely cous cous, chicken & veg thingie to work for pack up but when I opened it, it smelt really funky, so I threw it out and it's now 7:30 and hubs and I haven't worked out anything to eat for dinner, (other than vodka) so it may be scrambled eggs - just don't feel like food (but do feel like vodka ha ha)

    ho hum ;)

Ha ha this made me burst out laughing!!!
  • Oh heck! Eating plan went to pot over weekend. Our son has got a sicky bug and so we had a takeaway late on Saturday and the yesterday we had toad in the hole (sons choice, he was feeling better) and fruit crumble and custard. To top it off, we had wine, Doritos and dip with downtown abbey. I don't think I'll get away with it this week at weigh in.
    Anyway, back on plan
    HE a milk
    HE b hovis
    B banana and yog
    L beans on toast, nectarine
D sticky chicken served with stir fried sf veggies and boiled rice (2)
BM not much as son off school.
Snack maybe a hifi bar (6) this evening. If not I shall bank the syns against the weekend indulgences and hope for the best on Wednesday.
