I thought I had done so well this week.Tonight, scales at WI said 1/2lb gain .I really was shocked.
Will post up my menu for the last week and let you lot pick it to pieces.
The last 2 weigh-ins (monday night),I have had an all-you can eat meal on the Friday night, and lost 2.5 lb.This week, eating everythig right, and GAIN!!
The only thing I can think is that I had AYCE on Friday night(12thSept),then Frankie and Bennies English breakfast on Sunday(14th),and with weigh-in the next day,it hadn't registered yet. This week it has caught up.
Now,my consultant says there is no such thing as "catch up"-you have either eaten the syns or you haven't.On the other hand,I have always believed it took can take a couple of days for calories/syns to catch up.I would be interested to hear what others believe.
I actually Googled how long it takes for fat from food to sit on the hips, as it were. Apparently it is around three hours. There are so many variables though. I had a Chinese meal on Saturday, along with half a big bag of chocolate buttons and a load of wine. More 'badness' on Sunday with butter and full fat Philly. I still lost 2lb though. I think that it sometimes helps me when I eat off plan - as long as it is occasional. I think it helps that I come in low on Syns for most of the week (although I don't actively save them) and so when I do go off plan I have Syns in the bank, as it were.
Back on plan today...
B - Fruit and yoghurt
L - Subway sandwich. Chicken on brown with loads of salad and a dollop of honey mayo
D - I cooked the SW butternut squash, bacon and sweet potato stew - it was really lovely. Going to do it with chicken next time.
Snack - Muller choc and mint dessert
I think about 10 Syns today, not sure what the sandwich would be, not much I don't think as it was mostly free food and HEX B.
So, please log -2lb for me this week, Shala.0 -

Thank you,pink poppy
I noticed that after I had posted it (also noticed chocolate brownies, ooops).I normally have thin sliced toast.I wonder if the fact it was thick was enough to tip the scales, even though overall,I don't think I exceeded my syns this week.
Feel so sad.Since weigh-in,had a silly misunderstanding (I think???) with my 12yo DD,and subsequent snappiness between me and OH,who has sloped off to bed in temper.:(SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Hi all
wiz congrats on losing your 1lb. Glad you stuck with it.
saver upper hugs honey. It is so demoralising when you have stuck to plan and have not lost. Fingers crossed it will come off next week. I'm sure OH and DD will understand.
Hugs to all those on * week, the thread seems to be synchronising itself lol thought that only happened with work colleagues and family members. Shows what strong support we have on here!!

Saver-upper - without going through each menu one by one a few things i picked up on that you could check were..
Are you cutting all the fat off the bacon?
Bacon/ham are high in sodium which retains water.
i think you noticed the thick bread and chocolate brownies/rocky roads:drool:
Are you measuring out your sauces or just guesstimating them?
I think some days are a bit light on superfrees - peas and corn don't count
What are you frying your potatoes in? if it's fry light then it's free, if you're using oil then you need to syn
Hope you don't mind me commenting on your menus.. but your gain may be just down to hormones so don't be too disheartened (sp?) it might be that you lose loads next week!!:DMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Morning :hello:
Don't lose heart Saver-upper, keep going
Well done on the losses, no matter how small, it's going down
Had a good day yesterday even though we had a funeral. We didn't go to the wake so no sausage roll temptation. Did have OH at home all day though and he fancied pie for his tea. Got him and the girls creamy chicken pies from Morrison's and make chips in the actifry. I just had stirfry beef and vegetables with the chips.
It is only 3 weeks until I go on a plane, don't think I'll lose enough not to need my seatbelt extenderbut I have my own and I am trying not to worry about it too much. but I am dreading it
I hate being the fat one someone has to sit beside, I really do. So why the hell have I only manage to lose 1 stone all year?
Anyway, nothing for it but to keep plodding on, one day at a time.
Have a good day0 -
