Ok so me and OH have been paid today so i have budgeted the following
Food £75/£300 (done a food shop today)
Petrol £0/80
Misc spends £0/£250 (this is for the whole month and budgeted for birthday meal/haircut/meal with friend/birthday gifts and MOT)
SFD 0/16
Exercise 0/12
This is up until the 28th October.
How do other people work their budgets when it falls before the start of a challenge and when do you start your SFD from ??
Sorry for all the questions, my mind is running at a million miles an hour tonight
Hope everyone is ok going to try a switch off before work tomorrow

Evening all
Luckystarr I calculate all monies from payday to payday but all other aspects of the challenge from the 1st until the end of the calendar month. So as I got paid on Thursday, my money totals in my signature are finished with and won't be updated any further, but I have a spreadsheet totalling up all the spends since Thursday, and these will appear when we start the October challenge. Hope that makes sense.
Today has been a lovely and productive day, although very spendy, but all on food etc. Used my aldee voucher so was very pleased (thanks CEW for the reminder). I have also been to the gym and walked the dogs. Forgot to do my foodbank donation, which has annoyed me, but I have the items in my cupboard so will ensure I drop them off when I next pop into Asder.
Tomorrow we are going out for a family day out but it is all prepaid for, unless we get talked into having lunch while we are out. Will try to come home for lunch instead though as we need to save the few pennies we have in our budget.
Hope you have all had a lovely SaturdayLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

nannygladys look after yourself - overdone the painting I think.
LoveaDove excellent progress on the exercise and learning fronts.
I count SFDs in the month they occur. If I am buying food for the coming month I include it in next month's spending but the spend day in this month - as long as you are consistent and both money and spend day are recorded somewhere it doesn't matter. It would only be if you said no it doesn't count as spending as it's for next month and then didn't record it as a spend day next month either. Does that make sense, I am starting to confuse myself now.
I feel as though I have had a good day but there have been challenges and I ache a lot now. DS3 decided not to go to the party but paid for me an all day ticket on condition that I bought him some more cordial. First trip was to town to return two library books and drop off the cs and food bank (next month's) donations (must remember to add to my de-clutter total).
Went to the old house as I had a letter for DS2 and surprise, surprise he is moving out - was today but his phone has broken so maybe tomorrow or over the next few days, so that's no rent money for October. made him go to the PO to put this week's money in and suggested he keeps the bank card and pays something against what he owes me when he can but not holding my breath. Did a small shop (some basics for next month) and came home.
Went to Bolton to use my Debnums vouchers. On the way there it was either going to be candles (meant to check what I had in the box before I went) or bits to wrap up for DS3, but then remembered I need thick tights if I ever plan on wearing anything other than floor length skirts. Have a twin pack in navy and grey and a maroon pair and thought I would have to pay 50p, but because it was blue cross day I had to pick 2 packs of chocolate coins to make it up to my voucher amount and no money changed hands.
Found the letter for DS2 so back to old house (luckily he had gone to work) shoved letter through the door and brought back the last two sacks of the leaves I had chopped down a few weeks ago, so green bin is full (did ask him to leave any paperwork for binning and I will take the addresses off and put it in my paper bin (otherwise I will spend three weeks trying to get rid of all the stuff he has failed to put out since the bin fairy stopped calling).
Finally did a little trip to Tessimos for bananas, DS3's cordial and a selection of 20p items and some deli reduced items - the assistant had taken a trolley load away to mark down but I was too tired to stand around any longer and I can't do the fighting scramble anyway. Have enough to be going on with (bought a 4 pack tuna in spring water as they were £3).
Need to crack on with painting tomorrow - I want painting to be finished. I want everything to be finished and just give the keys to the estate agent. So glad my fighting spirit is returning because I needed it today. Nearly bought a lottery ticket (clutching at straws) but thought that would be throwing in the towel.
Today I am grateful for bargains, voucher shopping that works out and leftovers (spotted something the workmen left that will fix yet another little problem - good job I am creative). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Hey Luckystarr.
I have a budget account which I transfer £400 a month in on the 1st of every month.
This is my living money. I used to spend all of it by the 15th but now, because of my LBM and these NSK/NST threads, I still have money left and we are at the end of the month.
That is how I work it and it seems to go pretty well.
So... today destroyed our food shopping budget. We are now £22 over on the food thingy.
So, I will head back on to the naughty step... budge up apple muncher (I think it is yourself who is on there).
We went to another castle today which was brilliant. I love it so much more when there are people in the rooms talking about the place. This one has hidden rooms everywhere (sadly, they have been hidden again).
The thought behind them is that the laird hid there for three years after the jacobite rebellion. It is one of the earliest examples of indoor plumbing!! The room has an ensuite that has a pipe that goes down to a septic tank.
We also had a tour around five different shops as OH was trying to find the new fifa game.
I AM OFFICIALLY UNDER THE £3000 MARK!!!!!!
I have only £2980 left to pay in order to clear the credit card. I am feeling pretty bl**dy awesome!!
:j
Loving the housey stuff by the way. I am a big fan of people doing stuff to houses. I am rubbish at DIY but I love designing stuff and things.
Big hugs to everyone.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

Wide awake club, can't sleep so catching up on here.
Stewby well done on getting under 3k. Was going to look at shoes this am but now motivated to avoid the shops..
Spent yday day out with bf, watching bands in beer garden in sunshine. He bought the tickets, drinks charity event so I bought raffle tickets, and bbq food. Spent £7.00.
Nanny gladys hope yr aches and pains go away.
Well have a potential lodger viewing room today, whilst it's great for clearing debt I get nervous before a new one moves in. Probably reason I am wide awake now such a stress head.
Now the xmas bun fight is booked the search is on to find a partner to take along. Current bf wouldn't stand round one. Bit quiet and my bosses are horrors, mixture of Nev from the Call centre combined with Gene Hunt so politically incorrect and embarrassing dread this event. Can see me going alone again.
Right hungry so off for a 2am feast, only had a butty for tea. NightLBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
Stewby, well done! I think we might end up fairly neck and neck for a bit, though as we get paid different times we will leapfrog each other. I am set to get under 3k on my payday, mid oct. You will inspire me to keep saving where I can - last half of the pay month is usually when I get a little sloppy! Go team turtles! I hope your lodger is nice Calling...people usually are, but I agree it is hard sharing your space. When I get fed up I mentally translate dealing with an annoying situation (eg queue for shower) to think 'i'm being paid X per night to put up with this'll feels, better that way! Fingers crossed it goes well. It's not forever x0

mothernerd - what you fit into one day is amaaaazing! Please take care of yourself and take it easy some days. Are you still doing your physio exercises?
stewby and crazy_lady - ooh, an inter-turtle competition! You are both working so hard to shift the debt - well done both.
calling - hope the lodger's a good'un. That must be stressful for you. And the Cmas do - prob best to go alone and enjoy it rather than woryy about someone else's behaviour/reactions.
luckystarr - I get paid on the 28th, but leave it untouched (apart from dds that go out) until the 1st. This works for me, but if you are paid earlier in the month, then it would be tricky to wait. Would it be feasible to not touch it for and extra day each month, until you have it there until the 1st of the next month? Do ignore that suggestion if it makes you snort your morning coffee out because it is so ludicrous! Fmess explains it well.
nanny - hope you have a restful Sunday.
loveadove - well done on your new learning! Mine is mastering the skill of cycling to work once a week without falling off, riding into a tree or getting honked at. Have nearly mastered it!
moohound - I'm the same age as your OH and sometimes don't feel grown up at all!
Now, this naughty step is getting a tad crowded so it's high time we ALL got off it. It is a new day, we are embedding new GOOD habits into our lives, and any self-imposed telling-offs might be needed, but MUST be short-lived. Sitting on our butts isn't healthy anyway. So, up we get! Off to stand up straight today and be proud turtles.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Thanks applemuncher! We are in danger of a bit of self-flogging I think (cant remember the proper word)...Stewby, not a competition, more pace setting for each other! Very relevant for next month's theme, the top triathletes all have those people who are there to specifically drag them through each stage, but this time we can do it for each other! Xxx0
