  • Happy friday everyone! Sorry I've not been around - had a really horrible week as my leaky bathroom turned into a full on replaster/ reseal/ install extractor fan jobby, so couldn't sleep at home for two nights in the middle of a truly ridiculous week at work. Not brilliant for my sanity, but thank goodness for brilliant landlords and grandmothers who will feed you and let you use their showers/ beds/ fridges as you choose. Hasn't been great for the diet, but I should be able to sleep at home tonight and have planned a big shop over the weekend to restock the freezer and a good clean to get rid of the dust.

So.... totals below. Aim is get through to payday spending as little as possible, because between buying my textbooks and paying off my overdraft, I've had quite a spendy month. Also looking forward to triathlon-ing through October, which will hopefully involve less drama all round than September.

    Groceries: £49.23/ £150 (till 15th October)

    Fuel: £0/40 (till 15th October)

    Daily Exercise: 12/18
    SFD 11/18
    Food Bank 0/£3
Proud to be debt free September 2014. :j

  • Soa - what a lot of drama! I hate those jobs that cost a lot of energy and time and money, only to end up pretty much back where you started! Lots of hugs and best wishes for the last few days...and yay! To grandma's :T

Nothing much to say really but I hope all the very stressed people manage to leave it all behind them at least for the weekend. Life is too short to be stressing about everything.

Worked out all our budgets for October last night and they were a tad depressing, anyway will pay off what I can today and update my sig later.

  • It is a beautiful autumn day here today. Hoping to get outside for a walk this afternoon and enjoy the weather.

Spend day today as I bought sweets for a couple of my classes today since its been a long and stressful week for us all. No more spend after that though.

This weekend I will have some time with OH. We have hardly seen each other this week as he is backshift. Hoping the weather is nice again tomorrow and we will use our Historic Scotland memberships to visit Inchmahome Priory. We will take a picnic to save spending on lunches.

I will spend some time this weekend to plan my budgets and priorities for October.

Only spend planned this weekend is food shopping and dentist on sat morning.
  • hello All

  • I am on the naughty step - and should probably stay there for the rest of the month :o.

It's the cycle gear in Aldee, you see. (and no, I didn't manage to get a voucher yesterday!) When I cycled yesterday it was darned chilly. I was there in my cycling tee shirt + lightweight jacket with elastic to keep it down over my thumbs + big yellow jacket/coat, and I was STILL well chilly for the first 3 miles.

I've read on MMM about clothing for cycling in all weathers and merino wool base layers seem to be the best choice. And Aldee just happened to have merino wool tops and legs....

I can't even put them away for Cmas, as I'm pretty sure I'll want to use them before that! I guess I could allocate my £1s from my NSD, 10k, 10 veg, workout pot...:D.

Well, I shall settle in for the long haul on the step, and emerge in a few days...

Oh applemuncher, I wish you hadn't said that about the aldee cycling gear! My OH is after merino baselayers and has been for some time, would be a good xmas pressie for him perhaps but am so cash strapped just now! I have been avoiding the shops like the plague! (Also a devotee of MMM here, can't wait to start the new job where I can ditch the car commute :money:).

What colours are they doing them in? (Hoping the answer is bright orange, or purple, or some colour that would make them unnacceptable for wearing under 'er maj's forces uniforms :rotfl:).

I got royal blue :D!!! Fraid I didn't check out the men's colours! They might be online... Could HE buy them for himself? Or you just get a top or legs? £15.99 isn't cheap, but it IS cheap for merino stuff.

Glad to find another MMM fan (others include mothernerd and Habibiboo, I think!)

Everytime I acquire one of them (some days I manage all of them and some days I manage none at all!) I note it in my notebook and put the appropriate amount of cash into a pot. So far this month I have 'earned' nearly £70. It's a good motivator for me.

Magic cat - know where you are coming from just pop in for chats and turtle hugs. Someone get the kettle on.

SOA - your leak seems worse than mine, what a nightmare. Glad you have it sorted.

Luckystarr, Dolly 84 - October is going to be a tight one here as well. Determined to catch up with Gas/ Electric that way I will have reasonable payments for the rest of yr.

Today decided that I am, now back healthy, will try and lose weight up to xmas. Seeing I have lost 10lbs well 9lbs 1lb creeped back on, not in the obese chart now, moved to overweight in BMI tables. I need to lose 1st 8lbs to get to top of healthy weight. So aiming for 8lbs first. So no biccies/cakes for me next few weeks.

Yesterday another sfd, compost being bought today plus milk needed again.

    Have a great weekend folks.
