Hi all.
I have done a grocery shop today and have gone £19.72 over budget, luckily there was enough left in the bank (I always leave a £30 buffer) to cover it. Did the shop at Lidl again and got lots of lovely things so cupboards and fridge full again.
Payday tomorrow so new budgets start then so tonight I will be working everything out and tomorrow will be debt payment day.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hi all
Has been a spendy day did get one xmas present though.
Me and OH have seen what we are going to be paid so will be working out the figures. Also found out I am on emergency tax due to changing jobs and staying on relief so have had to sort that out today. Will need to think of another way to earn extra cash as my tax will be too high on my 2nd job
Off to do our sums and watch a little TV

Hi squizzels,
I am flying in with a super speedy check-in! Sorry for missing yesterdays- trying to sort out my evenings so will likely have to create a timetable for my free time for ensuring I fit in my MSE time!! Will catch up on posts tomorrow as I am off out for Orange wednesday at the cinema for a double date! Up to 13 sfds, also took part in a zumba class today so 1 more for the fitness (I also went out for a jog last night so that actually makes 2 more!) Work is keeping me on my toes!
Busy, busy, busy -glad you are fitting so much in.nannygladys wrote: »I had a sfd so getting to target. Still at dd3 house decorating, only have s bit to do now, so I will be resting at work when they actually move lol!!!!
Just signed up for October, I'm really pleased with September so far considering I have been on holiday.

However, never mind... on with september. Totals below, hopefully my bathroom will be finished today, so need to have a good scrub of the flat and do a big shop and cook at the weekend ready for uni next week, so will probably take a good part of my grocery budget, but I should then have lots of meals to stop me buying food!

Am steadily increasing my NSD tally, and although my exercise may not reach 20, I've started biking to work once a week as a new activity. And I thoroughly enjoy it - it also guarantees another NSD, which is good too!
Trundling on towards the end of the month, I've really enjoyed the 'appreciating what you have' side of things. Weather-wise, the month has been kind, lending itself to being oudoors still.
Today I am grateful for reading with dd, for tea being leftovers, for dry washing, for lovely positive colleagues, for autumn.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

I have signed up for the October challenge and it looks really motivating so i will look at all the rules and set myself up for October. I am really looking forward to seeing how I get on in the month.

No need to apologise. Just look after yourself. Read along and play along if you can but don't stress yourself further by posting. We all have difficult months. We are all here for you.luckystarr wrote: »Hi all

Boo to emergency tax - bane of DS1's life. The place he works has different agencies overseeing different departments so when he was seconded to a different department he was put back on emergency tax. He also got a drubbing on his bonus. Had spent three weeks mid-month on secondment (he is keen to get into training), returned to his own department with 3 days of the month left to find that they still expected him to clear all his cases for the month or no bonus.
SFD for me. Didn't start well as despite resting between tasks yesterday and never getting to the point where I was hurting, I could still barely move this morning.
Looked for some positives. Trawled through the attic and have put together around £7 of toiletries for the food bank for October (had to pinch one thing each from mine and mum's Christmas pressies but they won't be missed).
Hung up a bag of t-shirts I had brought down. DS1 left a huge pile of clothes when he moved out, to take to the cs after picking out anything I wanted. T shirts are all bright colours (should have been for Summer but they have been trapped in the attic). Underneath were 2 jumpers I had forgotten a J*sper Conr*n fawn merino wool one and a chunky navy one with a cream stripe - think reverse cricket sweater. So I am sorted for Winter - I may not look elegant but I won't freeze.
By plodding doggedly I have painted the remaining skirting board in my room and the 2 bits above the picture rail (DS1 said the paint was nearly gone) and tidied all the edges he did. The picture rails and the side boards of the attic stairs have been glossed (still hoping the actual stairs can stay wood). Fixed a panel on the single bed and (with DS3's help)
have moved it back into the tiny room (currently wedged at an angle of 30 degrees to the floor, stuck on the radiator and the wall). But he spent ages getting the 3 underbed drawers into their respective slots until they conceded.
I have also done a food stock check, a little gardening, quite a bit of tidying and sorting. I am really tired but have had a hot bath (which stopped my leg aching altogether for the first time today) and washed my hair. Plan for tomorrow is to get ready, slowly and then wait for my lift to the hospital to see mum (and not eat the bar of chocolate I bought for her).
Today I am grateful for DS3, for applemuncher's October challenge and for all of you for making this month such fun.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Evening all
MagicCat please don't feel anxious about posting, I am sure we would all rather have the occasional unstressed message from you that a daily post knowing you are stressed out. Take care of yourself.
Glad everyone is having a generally good day, even if many of you are tired from all your hard work with house improvements. Well done, you all have so much determination and grit!
Today is my paydayand my payrise has come through
I am kicking myself a bit as overspending this month has reduced the amount of I can pay off my debt. However, on a positive note I have now broken the 35% towards debt free barrier
Nothing much happening here, spendy day as OH and I split the cost of a takeaway (we usually treat ourselves to one a month on payday). This weekend I will try to keep spending to just Saturday when we need a full cupboard and animal food stock up. If I can just spend on Saturday then I can make it to 15 SFDsWill also be stocking up on winter essentials and starting a proper plan for Christmas presents.

Not quite a NSD, Dd had athletics and I bought a cuppa (plus choccie bar for her at end) so I could sit and work while she was doing it. Still ended up working until just now though - falling into bad habits! But I both love my job and struggle to stay on top of stuff in the working day. Had nice time out with her though. Leftovers for lunch for us both, then part of our pasta mountain plus hm sauce using veggies from fridge up. Mum and Dad are meeting me tomorrow for a work event, then we go for dinner after, so another NSD. Like many others feeling a bit jaded with trying hard this month - guests have been nice, but I look forward to a long hot bath when they go..er...Sunday I think! I am also paid mid month and find that a bit hard when our challenges change and you want to throw yourself into things...but your still 3 weeks from payday! Good luck to those being paid in next week or so tho - stick at it! Well done on your payrise Fmess! MagicCat, stay close even if you don't post... And welcome to all those new to.the,challenge.0
