    Evening all

Definitely up for December, thanks mothernerd

Hugs to all those with worries

Totalled up this months spending and it is just ridiculous! I am so cross with myself. I've figured out that much can be rectified next month, although OH and I have our first holiday booked for over 3 years, which means more kennel costs plus food and transport costs whilst we're though :( Althoigh I can't wait and it's long overdue that we made some time for each other.

Not much else to report. Night all

  • Quite pleased with my progress so far. Made stuff for packed lunches this week, did my walk yesterday once I got in from work and yesterday was a SFD. Today should be a SFD too and I will do another walk this afternoon.
  • Morning all! mothernerd, February is fine with me, pending any deadlines, but I'd know that at the beginning of january so would be able to let everyone know! After saying I needed to be good yesterday, we did our Macmillan coffee evening at Guides, so rather a lot of cake was consumed :( However, my internet banking is no longer showing my current account, and it was a NSD, as I still don't have a working debit card. So new totals below!

    Groceries: £49.23/ £150 (till 15th October)

    Fuel: £0/60 (till 15th October)

    Daily Exercise: 11/18

Checking in early as I am worried the laptop (hopefully only the battery) is dying.
Went off without warning and had to jiggle the cable to get it started charging.

If I disappear for a couple of days, you will all be fine without me - I will get down to the library as soon as possible if it gets worse and it didn't take long for the new battery to come last time it happened.

Another quiet day. Did 2 trips into the attic (took off more of the old lining paper on the stairs, on the way) and 2 trips downstairs to answer stupid phone calls (no number, so did trips to the bin and sprayed the moss where I am hoping to put lawn for house selling purposes). Then had to rest.

Attic haul means another 10 items for the charity shop plus some bits I can pass on for stocking fillers, brought down 2 inhalers (just in case will bring the Vick chest rub on next trip) a box of embroidery threads (can finish off some projects I didn't have the right colours for) and a file of part -nearly completed Christmas designs (cards, ornaments, larger designs) with their patterns.

Failed to clean inside a cupboard (was just too low and couldn't open the door fully) but cleaned several other bits as I moved round). Plan to use all the rags and then I will have another full wash load - currently have a half load each of whites and colours (it's bugging me that one load is on my new hall carpet). There are more painting bits I can do if I feel able to do something more energetic, later but lots of restful bits too (put doing something creative as one of my goals for this week - it's been sidelined for a while). Not desperate enough to class painting skirtings and door-frames as creative and anxious not to do bits that then show up the next bit. I will not re-paint all the gloss (I'd still be here at Christmas - getting ready to sell I mean). I do have a new target for putting the house on sale, but I am too scared of jinxing it to put it in writing - probably nothing left that can go wrong, but houses are always surprising you.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Happy Tuesday folks.:j

Thanks Phoenix, hope you feel better soon. Flood dried out almost, sticking lounge door now, my new oak one just got fitted hope it will shrink back into place otherwise will have to pay a joiner to plane it. Not going to claim on insurance, just a bit of paint needed not worth 350 pound excess I would have to pay.

Today had new carpets fitted in bedrooms can't believe I choose something so fluffy - almost a shag pile Look forward to moving furniture back tonight and having 2 clean tidy rooms, maybe 3 bedroom might be tidy when everything back in place.:T

Up to 11 sfd today, tempted to do an online shop with Sainsbobs but will wait a week and do monthly shop then and include xmas cake ingredients. Got essentials yesterday. If you count heathers/few winters plants as essentials oops, only 3 pounds oops:o

In a good mood today, on grandson collection after work. Nice age 3 it's fun now, the questions drive you mad tho. Not sure of the answers to some, Why is that snail pretending to be a snail? :)

Be good squirrels, no one has been put on naughty step yet this month by Mothernerd,:rotfl:

  • Calling did you get an offer from SBobs to get £20 off a £60 spend with them? I had an email about it as I have an online account but haven't ever ordered with them. The code looks pretty generic, and the tills are printing voucher receipts for £20 off £60 for new customers too, so think my code would work for you with or without a previous account... :) Happy to hand it over. In all good conscience I can't think of enough stuff that I would buy in there that I couldn't get cheaper elsewhere. I can't buy 71 bottles of UHT soya milk... :rotfl:

Loving the grandson stories :D We have not yet discovered 'Why?' in my house. As for the snail... nope, I'm stumped! Is there even an answer you can give that would be right? 'He was a bit cold pretending to be a slug' :D:D

Lots of good Squirrels. Who is up next month to run this thing, I am in. I have had 2 SFD's this month

Well.... today has been a pretty massive spend day so I apologise and since someone mentioned the naughty step, I will take up my rightful position.

The only useful thing I bought was a salad bowl for my OH's sister's xmas. Very good as sainsbobs had it reduced from £20 down to £6!!
    :j

I had posted an awfully longwinded story but have decided to shorten it.
Basically, I closed my old credit card account and they sent me a letter to phone about paying it off. I phoned and the guy was charging me £50 interest despite the account only containing £9.53!! We debated this with him and his only answer was that the money would get refunded to the credit card if it was too much. We tried to explain that the account was closed but he just kept repeating himself.
Long story short was that this £50 meant that I could no longer pay off enough to get under £3k. So I was really quite gutted and upset.
However, my parents are lending me the money so that I can still get under £3k because they know how hard I have been trying and my dad is now also cancelling his BofS card that he has had for 15 years due to their sheer greed and inability to make simple things simple.

I feel a bit rotten as it is a bit rubbish that I am borrowing off my parents but I did have the money before they charged me £50. It was really soul destroying to see something come along and ruin all my hard work. I know that it is probably just as bad to be borrowing off parents but I am thrilled that I am able to get my credit card to under £3000.
Embarassingly, I am really excited about it. Almost as excited as I am when I plan holidays.

    Evening all,

Mothernerd you are always so inspirational and I am loving the September thread, thank you :)

Calling - glad your house is drying out and getting back to normal

Stewby - why are they charging you £50? and on a balance of £9ish?

Today has been SFD number 11 :) and I have had three pieces of good financial news. 1.) my OH's friend found a room to rent and moved out, when we got home he had got us lots of little thoughtful presents and left us quite a lot of money to repay us for letting him stay and taking care of him when he needed support. 2.) I have a tutoring job starting next week. 3.) I had the offer of doing a one off market research task for £50, I've replied but not heard back yet. Hopefully all of the above will mean that I can undo the massive overspends and unexpected spends this month :)

I have not managed to do any exercise, this is definitely going to be a target next month. This week I aim to go to the gym one night and then again at the weekend.

I need to do my foodbank donation this week, once I have been paid on Thursday. I am so excited.

    Hi folks

SFD today but only by chance! Was walking into town for my obligatory free latte and planned spend on £1 exfoliation gloves when I bumped into a friend on the street and what should have been a 10 minute chat turned into a 2 hour roadside chat so the shops were shut by the end of the convo!

Calling Hope your rooms are looking beautiful tonight with your furniture back in place and a fluffy new carpet :D

Stewby £50 charge? What a rip! Hope they will refund you the whole £50!

Fmess How lovely that you have been rewarded by your OH's friend for your kind gesture in letting him stay :A Well done for getting the extra tutoring job and fingers crossed the market research job materialises :)

Mothernerd I hope your home renovation mission will soon be accomplished.. you have put in so much hard work and effort, I wish you the very best of luck with the sale whenever that may be :A

I think Ill go up the wooden hill as my bed is calling!
