  • Oh abundant I am sorry to hear about your arm. Can't imagine not being able to use a mouse at work!! Hope it is ok!

Don't worry on the gym membership & not being able to exercise properly. You will get back into it when you are feeling better! :D cut out the rubbish eating though! ;)

Caeraugirl bless DS1. Jellytot has been at new nursery for a couple of weeks and she is exhausted! She only goes for 15 hours a week, but there is so much to do, so much to learn and she doesn't sit still. I am sure the same is true for DS1 and then some, as school has so much more!

Stewby & Fmess we are in agreement on the lovely SOA's name. :o:o:o - hope work is getting better Stewby.

    Hugs to all :D

    Hey gang

Good to see you back Abundant :D.. Hope your poorly arm gets better soon!

So Ive been at the figures this morning trying to figure out how much money I need to survive comfortably each month if I decide to go back to uni.. This is the first year I have ever used a wall planner to monitor finances and even though there is another 3 and half months til the end of the year, I have averaged out an approximate £450 per month so far (excluding rent) on food, fuel, car, fun, misc, medical, hair, birthdays etc.. Which is better than I thought actually! I have very little outgoings now until Christmas (4 birthdays!). Im so glad that the Flat move didnt work out because the increase in rent wouldve meant I wouldnt be able to consider going back to study. They say things happen for a reason :A

I am aiming for a SFD today! And am even considering some exercise in the next hour, may put my runners on and go for a woodland trot! :) Its a bit cloudy here today but the sun should make an appearance later on :)

Hope you all have a good day

    Evening all

Didn't manage a SFD as checked the fridge and had nothing for packed lunch. So very annoyed with myself.

Been in a reflective mood tonight as i think about the debt we are in etc worked out we will have paid over £30k off from various loans,cc etc.:eek::eek: Makes me feel sick just thinking about it, that would have been a deposit on a house and a nice wedding. Anyway enough of the self pity what's done is done.

Have picked up some extra shifts at my other place of work to help pay things off so that is a positive .:j

Going to have an early night as really tired and feeling meh at the minute.

Keep plodding on squirrels we are over half way .:money::money:

The little things that trip us up, need to work on this myself.

Yes you know what you did, no point dwelling on it. Good to see you being positive.

A lot of us feeling a bit meh - think it is as the seasons change, extremes kill the bugs, they thrive on the in-between bits.

Luckystar I go to SW as well and over the last year have lost a few stone but I managed to put on 4lbs over my holiday lol but back on the straight and narrow now.

Congratulations on the weight loss and on being super disciplined. I need to try harder, especially as I am not going to be able to increase my activity levels significantly.

Sounds like a plan, so exciting.

abundant commiserations on the poorly arm, must be so frustrating.

allie23 welcome, please post and play along.

    All hugs gratefully received.

Today I am tired (very) but happy.

Got my act together at midnight and did an hour sanding (by hand). DS3 said I sounded like the train out of Dumbo (not sure if he meant the sanding or the heavy breathing). Read the paint instructions and reckoned I was okay until 5pm today, but was aiming for noon. It was actually 1pm (started around 8am, with breaks) but have done a lot more than expected - most of the skirting boards, the lower part of the paneling, the 'new' (cobbled together from oddments) meter cupboard
and the ledges (very mucky as things accumulate at the top of the stairs and by the front door). basically trying to do any paintwork that will be next to the new carpet.

Then scrubbed all the paint off, got changed and dashed into town (£4 all day bus ticket) to meet the boiler man (+ food, more library books, more chopping undergrowth) and then the paint I couldn't get yesterday.

Mum will be in hospital for 2 weeks (but is still at home atm). Kept in touch all day but had a longer talk at tea time. Most of her day has been spent setting up care for her partner, someone will go in each day to look after him and his children will have to set up some sort of rota for the nights - otherwise I suspect he will get up and start looking for mum and set off the alarm if he goes outside.

If I can sort out my workers (carpet man and DS1) tomorrow, she has graciously agreed (tongue-in -cheek) that I may accompany her to the hospital. I have also let some of our relatives know this evening and given them my new phone number.

So an even busier day tomorrow (although other people will be doing the more physical stuff). Spent money but it is all coming out of the house repairs for now (bought a sandwich and drink to eat whilst waiting for the plumber but also in case I was diverted to the hospital.

Today I am grateful for lovely paint (went on easily and covered many mishaps), lovely sunshine and getting to sit with my leg up (really needed after all the painting). Here's hoping I can move tomorrow. Where are all my turtles?

loveadove I love the saying 'awkward turtle' do you say it too or are you referring to you being a turtle on here? At work if there is a really awkward moment, we do an awkward turtle hand gesture and it's funny how many people know what it means.

Today was a spend day for milk, I hate it when it's only for something little but there was no need to do a bigger shop. Took lunch to work but no exercise as spent ages waiting to get through to the new utility company who have taken my direct debit well before my payday, even though I asked them to take it afterwards and do have made me overdrawn and probably incur bank charges :(

Hope you've all had a lovely day, hope you get better soon abundant

  • Morning everyone! Sorry I didn't manage a check in yesterday but was away with work and didn't walk through the door until 10pm!

Loveadove - a mixture of feelings I think - elated, obviously, but also I think paying off my debt has made me realise how little I actually earn in the real world and how much I need some savings. So the next few months are focusing on that, but on the bright side 9 months ago the thought wouldn't have even occurred to me, so I think that's progress. Am going to go and close the account on saturday, so that'll feel good! Spendy day yesterday with the travelling etc and probably will be today as I need milk and petrol, but hoping for a SFD on friday.

    Have a good day everyone!
