First of all, congratulations to speakingofartistry (and you girls at the back, stop sniggering).
Thanks for all the kind words, think I may have a cold plus tired, pain and more tired. Wish I could say today has been better but perhaps interesting is more accurate.
Slept poorly, dragged myself downstairs and on to the bus to go to the other house, went to the library and did a mini-shop. Bought a magazine (which is bad, need to do lots of dancing to avoid depression - when it's really bad I arrange the clothes pegs in pretty patterns to cheer myself up) but am going to call it DS3's Christmas present as it had several parts including a house wares catalogue (and I avoided buying either a puzzle book or a craft magazine).
Wasn't until I took the second dose of painkillers after 1pm, that I finally got some relief. Tackled DS2's bins (disgusting but wanted stuff out of the house) and the jungle (used to chop it back regularly but not been able to for a while) as getting through the back gate was difficult (or space where there should be a back gate).
So mr and mrs builder arrived and the boiler has gone to boiler heaven - they have passed my details to mr boiler. Light relief moment (mr builder asked if DS2 had gone - 3 foot high pile of clothes on kitchen table, assorted furniture still in place, 2 small tables covered in drinking glasses and food in the fridge - no, don't think so mr builder - questions only a man could ask).
Got a taxi home as I had 2 bags of paper for my blue bin (terraced houses only have the 2 bins and a green one if they request one) as well as my shopping and library books.
Shocked to discover I have only £17 something in the bank but all mid-month DDs have gone through, my weekly money goes in tomorrow and DS2 has promised to put last Friday's money in today (but probably won't be credited until tomorrow) so okay for now.
Arranged to meet boiler man tomorrow (so will buy paint then - could not have got to shop today) after phoning mum. She was having tests today. She fell downstairs in February of last year and has had various problems since including problems holding her head up and problems with swallowing. She has seen several professionals and one of our doctor's was sending her for a scan, which she wanted.
On her next visit she saw the other doctor, who cancelled the csan and sent her a speech therapist instead. Speech therapist gave her the thickening granules to help swallow liquids but supported the first doctor and wrote a letter requesting scan be re-instated. Scan day was today. She wants them to find a problem, which can be fixed.
Short nap to catch up on sleep. Woken by phone call from (mum's partner's) 'grand-daughter who does all appointments'. Mum's nerves are not transmitting enough neurones to make her jaw do what she wants. Hospital want to admit her, so awaiting further news.
I am not worrying (does it make sense if I say I am too tired to worry) just seeing it as a logistical exercise and tackling one bit then the next, so washed my hair in leftover bath water (I have been unable to do it the past few days), found the a-z (don't know the hospital at all) and looked up bus timetables. Still undecided on cancelling the boiler man (did ask DS3 if he could mind the boiler man but he was asleep and said 'it depends').
Just phoned again and they are at home, still waiting (I was worried they were still at the hospital) but it will be tomorrow or next day. Asked about granddad (alzheimer's) and she thinks he understands where they have been and why but may fret tomorrow as they are planning on leaving him at home and he might keep looking for my mum.
So today I am grateful for the NHS (they got there in the end), for sunshine (cutting the ivy and briar would have been miserable in the rain) and libraries, for endless entertainment. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Evening all
Didn't manage a SFD as checked the fridge and had nothing for packed lunch. So very annoyed with myself.
As it has been spendy i topped up on the food shop so i have stuff in for pack up.
Thank you mothernerd for the mini challenge will be checking my stocks.
Been in a reflective mood tonight as i think about the debt we are in etc worked out we will have paid over £30k off from various loans,cc etc.:eek::eek: Makes me feel sick just thinking about it, that would have been a deposit on a house and a nice wedding. Anyway enough of the self pity what's done is done.
Have picked up some extra shifts at my other place of work to help pay things off so that is a positive .:j
Hugs and positive thoughts to all that need them
Going to have an early night as really tired and feeling meh at the minute.
Keep plodding on squirrels we are over half way .:money::money:

Feeling somewhat shattered, but couldn't not pop in to say Whoop!! to SOA...I am inspired, motivated, and just a tad envious of your total debt free-ness! I hope you sleep super soundly and look forward to waking up oweing zilch! Way to go all the other turtles too...we are half way now
I had a NSD today (in fact gained an unexpected cash refund from something), enjoyed splitting my spoils from macro with my folk...went for the first time yesterday to stock up on stuff for guests etc. Was interesting. I spent more than I planned but have 1200 tea bags and enough washing powder for about 200 washes!!! Reminds me of one of NSK's challenges where we talked about 'preppers' a lot.
Must go - falling asleep at keyboard. Have all totals to update...was payday, so I think tomorrow I can confirm my informal debt has dropped!! Woo hoo!!0 -
Today I am grateful for giggles at work, for my lovely dh, for dd dropping off to sleep peacefully, for a quiet evening stuffing bunny arms and legs whilst watching a programme about motorways(!), for dd wanting to get out on her bike.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Good work on the thread mothernerd!!! I am gonna catch up on what's being going on today
So sorry for my absence this month... Work has been mad... I developed an injury in my arm and am forbidden from certain activities (including using a mouse which is killing me!!!) and fell into a bit of a slump...
Still on track financially - butcouldn't afford my gym subscription so haven't been at all in the last few weeks... (I could still do cardio and lower body) - and again - have used this as an excuse to do nothing and eat cr*p!
So - need to kickstart myself. Going to go for a walk today... sort out my food cupboards... do a *healthy* shop... and be good and start my arm exercises!!!
Catch you all later x
