Lovely post NOA. I welled up a little at you calling your Dad to tell him about what was growing. What a lovely daughter you are :). What are those cute little yellow flowers - I want to say aconites but not sure why? They are very cheery. Or are they just very well behaved buttercups :p

Glorious days have a way of making everything seem a little bit better, don't they? It's blowing sideways snow here today, so not quite so uplifting

Thank you mfmaybe. It is very uplifting especially yellow in spring:) ...Sideways Snow? Brrrr....actually it is cold enough to snow here today too, wind has really picked up. The yellow flowers are winter aconites! Clever you:T:T ....there's no detail in the photo! they always come out first with the snow drops and "glow". I have well behaved (and not so well behaved) buttercups too - and they are equally lovely. I like daisies in the lawn, its the only way you can get to make daisy chains. I call all my weeds "wild flowers":D, which they are.;)

I always think of my dad when I'm in the garden, he has a real talent for growing things and loved growing flowers, as a child I remember huge dahlias in every colour in our garden. His passion is for roses though, and over the years he has given us all cuttings of every rose he has in his tiny garden. His is the only house in the terraced street they live in with a flower bed in the front garden (about 6ft by 18 inches) and it is packed to the brim with roses bushes in different colours. When we first moved here he bought us a tiny cherry tree. It will be 23 years old this year, and is beautiful, but he can't see how big it is. He also planted an apple and a pear tree. I love telling him about the garden and what's happening in it. Just so sad that he can't see the things he loves.

Just been filing and sorting things. Have never really looked at payslips/invoices for my part time school bank staff/marking/fun weekend jobs but its all adding up ....about £3300 net since October ....averaging 500-600 extra a month, so covering for the shortfall we had after losing the rental income. Never really notice it coming in as it comes in dribs and drabs at different times of the month and disappears into the black hole of monthly direct debits!

Just need a few enquiries coming in for self employed business now. Should be picking up now for the summer, although if last year was anything to go by - it just didn't. Hoping things more buoyant this year.

Doing well, admin done:), kitchen partly done:), car emptied of rubbish and inside wiped down with wipes so looks a bit more presentable:), but don't feel like washing it - too windy - too cold. Hoovering and mopping to do yet :( before school pick up.

So, after my embarrassing breakdown to the letting agency needing credit checks for being guarantor for DD's accommodation next academic year, the credit check (whatever they did) has passed and I do not need to come to some other arrangement for paying up front. Phew!!!!!
Perhaps they only did checks for bankruptcy or situations worse then 70K+ in unsecured debt?

Still have to pay Augusts rent in May, even though she won't be using the room, then monthly from September.
    Relieved.

Hello my lovely. I'm spending the morning catching up on some diaries before I head off to the city for lunch with my daughter. It's blissfully warm, sunny and fresh, if not a little noisy, here

So pleased to hear the credit check was ok after all. A huge weight off your mind. It's annoying that the rent has to be paid but she can set it up howshe wants it before moving in properly x

Have a lovely week with your DD

Nice one NOA! I know, know, know that creepy feeling when worrying that credit files may spoil arrangements for others. Just like you, after sleepless nights I have got away with it too
Blessed relief but sometimes we worry too much :D

  • Thank you Verbatim, Granny, Brogden! :):):)
It is a relief and yes, I do worry too much - can't help it,:o it's me and try as I have over the years, I haven't been able to change me on the inside, though I can now put a :) on the outside.

The house DD has found with her friends is really close to the uni (5 min walk or less!) so it will alleviate the need for an annual bus pass etc and minimise travel costs. I was desperately worried that if landlord was not amenable to other arrangements she'd have to look elsewhere and not be with her friends. Silly Me!:D

So happy for you Granny - you sound very relaxed and content:)
Verbatim - thank you for being there and your support:)
Brogden - its a horrible feeling, creepy is a good word for it, a better one is pants;) oops feel a bit of frivolity coming one:D

  • Mood swings or what! Today I feel like a yoyo. All fired up and then deflated the next.

Have sat here thinking about the mountain of debt (after opening nasty letter from bank HS*C, who I gave 29 years of loyalty to, and they have been the worst:() and how insurmountable the numbers seem. Just told myself it was impossible, couldn't see an end:(. Doodling, and wrote the word "impossible". Was looking at the doodle and suddenly saw something (I like word games;))
    IMPOSSIBLE

Someone had missed out some punctuation.
