So sorry about your poor dad NOA. Heartbreaking to see him like that. My mum is going through similar with her dad who is stuck in hospital, immobile because of diabetic feet issues, kidney failure, heart disease... & he just wants to give up. I honestly think if they gave him a button and said 'press it anytime you just want to go' he would have pressed it long ago.

I have everything crossed for his vision clearing. As for you, please take care of yourself. Look after you a bit or the bugs will pile on! Fingers crossed for the tax xx

    Hi Lilt,
Thank you for popping by. I'm so sorry you and your mum have so much to deal with too. It is heart-breaking to watch the people you love suffer so much. Diabetes and all its complications in advanced stages is a horrible disease, I think people don't really understand unless they are having to deal with the effects these complications have on day to day life. We have watched my dad go slowly downhill over the last 12 years. No change in vision, I don't think he is holding out much hope - he says that what has happened is the same as the events leading to the total loss of vision in his other eye. He is crying a lot - both are distraught - its going to have a big impact on my mum too. We have a lot of decisions to make as a family.

I wish you lived nearer too :) I have a sister who is 18 years younger than me -I would adopt you as her twin :-)
    - your understanding and empathy across these pages ( not just mine but everyone's else's too) is amazing and you show such maturity in all that you do.

Lots of love n hugs for you and all those you hold dear too

ACcounts done, partnership return, DH's return and own returns done and all taxes paid on time :j

quarterly VAT to do by end of week, that should be fairly straight forward, if I can get my desk /office under control in the next days or so. Pulled out files here there and everywhere for tax returns, now just need to get the chaos under control. I am sensible I should be able to get the bulk of current years return ready for next Jan ........

:o.....My annual resolution that I fail every year. :D

DD was home this weekend after 3 weeks, was nice having her home though did not have much time to spend with her, and my mind was elsewhere really.
But we did watch a mushy movie on Saturday night together, and also caught up on The Musketeers on iplayer - She's in love with d'Artagnan (Luke Pasqualino)and me with Aremis Santiago Cabrera:p:D - managed to forget worries for a few hours.
Struggling with keeping temper with DS at the moment - he is spending many hours playing games on computer with friends on line - almost all of them some sort of battle /shooting games:(
Have Spoken to HSBC this morning - they have put another 60 hold on charges and interest, and want to review end March.

    Hi NOA :)

I'm working from home today. Need to kick some butt really!!

So sorry to hear of your dad's troubles and I know from my own experiences how much worry this creates and can make the routine work and money managing so much more of a strain than it would be anyway :(

It looks like you are doing very well anyway as of course you would :)

When you do get a mo you need to kick the butt of HSBeeC. I'm not telling you off but if they want a further review in March then they are still licking their lips waiting for a big arrangement aren't they? Sort out a modest and easy to manage monthly payment with them, backed up by I&E statement and insist this is 6 months minimum, preferably 12 months this in reality doesn't need to be more than a token.

Just to cheer you up a little.......if you have a good bit with HSBeeC you may be very fortunate. From what I see (and my experiences talking to S&M who are HSBeeC) they are pretty damned good for F&F's unlike the lovely Gnat's Vest with me :( !!

    Chin up my dear.

    )

Brogden!!!!!!!!!!!Chin is up (all three of them:D) and thank you for your kind words. Sorry I haven't kept up with you battles in F&F s but wise words as always, thought at first you had dropped by to kick my butt but realised as I read on you wanted me to do HSBC :p I think by end March they will be defaulting as it will have been 7 months of sorry to use the word "token" payments. So I'll contact SC to update my I&E and post it to them. So unless I win the lottery I cannot really see anything changing by then as over next few weeks need to focus on helping my parents sort things out. So fingers crossed they'll be like you say they will.
Hope you have managed some F&Fs and you are miles closer to your debt destination. Did notice a small post on your page one day many moons ago trying to tempt me over for some frivolity when you mentioned the KN*ckers* word (see I didn't say it) and having to display them on radiators ;)) but I resisted temptation so that you wouldn't accuse me of hijacking your thread with "smalls" talk:p

Today I am F&Fing at home (Finding and Filing or Frowing) - very therapeutic. Have some clients to contact and letters to send, then domestic stuff. and I some point I ought to get dressed - still in my pjs!

  • Thought I'd drop in and catch up with you. So sorry to hear of the dramas with your parents :( They are so lucky to have you and your love for them shines through in your writing. I hope that your dad regains some vision, must be so difficult for him. I am dreading a time when my parents are not as fit and able, hope it is a very long time away.

I haven't been keeping my diary up to date (bad) although have been fighting the debt (good)

Look forward to getting back to reading diaries and hearing about your progress :)
