Hi! Nice to see you again, how was Christmas?
You've had an eventful time. The slipped disc must have been a nuisance as well as a pain, I hope it stays stable. Well done for not letting things drag you under!
Only three years to the end of mortgage! We paid ours off just before the first lockdown and it's such a nice feeling. You will be there soon enough too.
I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I've let go of the reins a bit when it comes to keeping on track, over the past 18-20 months I've only just managed to keep on top of things that absolutely need doing. The slipped disc was a really nuisance as it meant I couldn't really do anything much (not stand for too long, not sit for too long, no gardening to speak of, no lifting/ carrying etc. I kept going to work though and it helped keep vaguely mobile. I now fairly regularly manage 7-8K steps a day and maybe 10K a day once a week (not brisk walking, but just in the course of going about daily life). Long story, but it was impossible to see anyone face to face because of pandemic. If it hadn't been for my garden, I don't know how i would have coped with lockdowns.
Because priority needs were being met I haven't got an up to date spreadsheet of current finances. Sticking with the job was the right decision - I was paid throughout even whilst on the furlough rota. It means we have managed to save towards the interest only part of the mortgage. Before work starts up again, 4th Jan, I need to start some urgent tasks, so that its not stressful once i get back to work.
1) Tax returns by end of Jan
2) Contact creditors to update IE (I've been ignoring their reminders for 3-4 months) my head is not in the right place
3) House insurance renewals will be due end of Jan too
4) I still have personal admin stuff to deal with that is long overdue and is now quite urgent.
Re: nicer stuff I did take up photography during lockdown and have got quite addicted -all nature related - even using a social media account (under a non personal username) to record it all!
Happy New Year everyone, let's hope it's a good one.

Well done NOA - even keeping on top of the basics is tricky when you're so incapacitated. Small steps and you'll be back where you want to be before you know it.
