Its a big amount of money Bob but as its for the school I sometimes feel
it isn't the worthiest of causes but at the moment it fits into the rest of my life easily and means I maximise my time whereas if I had to go somewhere else to volunteer logistics would be harder.....

A good one and would love to Chev - it's something at the back of my mind, but VSO would need to be after DS leaves for uni. At the moment it needs to be something I can do/organise from home/locally.

Nice of you to pop in Supersaver - It's been a while and I hope life is still treating you well:)
Thank you for your comments, it's been nearly two and a half years, but feels a lot longer (not sure if that's good or bad ;):D)

Have to have a look at my I&E and do a little review (after tax returns etc all done). Have lost track a bit and various insurances etc up for renewal so good time to do that.

Hope everyone on MSE well and keeping happy. Am trying to focus on other things this week, but will get back hopefully next week.

Just popping in briefly to say hello.
Busy week, Have been trying to get accounts done and am almost there. Was filling in return on line and it has crashed. That's great stuff, it's true, really really great. It's because 50 million other people (THE biggest amount ever) are also trying to do it at the same time (TRUE FACT) as me #FAKE NEWS:eek:

It's a strange world we live in.

Going to pack it in now and try again tomorrow.

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend. Monday tomorrow already. #TRUE

Damp grey foggy morning with no sign of lifting.
Had a beautiful hour outside on Saturday though, clearing leaves from patio (last swept in September :(), soaked up a bit of Vit D, and then sat for a bit watching the birds feast on insects exposed.
    Spring will be here soon.

Today need to finish and submit tax returns, and VAT return, hopefully during the day the website will be available.

It does look a little better in the office, I have cleared out/shredded several carrier bags of paper. Just need to continue at this pace and deal with the back log once and for all. Have been setting up (or rather reinitiating) a system to deal with paperwork as it comes in weekly (or monthly at the latest), as I once used to do before DS was born.

I have continued with the meditation, again not sure its helping much with sleep but it does make me spend some time trying to switch off. World news has made me quite anxious/angry as I know quite a few people/work colleagues who may be affected. At times I think I am using it to transfer other emotions into a new channel.

Also have some stressful family visits to get through in the next month, so financial matters other than the extremely urgent taking quite a back seat. Having said that expenditure has been pretty low, as we haven't really done anything much. But I do need to make time to look up insurance quotes as renewals due within next two weeks. will try and do that today otherwise will get automatic renewals at 30% increase in premium over last year.

Have started using pinterest to catalogue hobbies and interests . Quite mindless browsing but have picked up lots of art and craft ideas.

What a long ramble. Avoidance I think of what needs to be done!
Will be back later to say all done and dusted and accounts depleted somewhat.

    Have a great day.

Hello Bob :) Glad you got a giggle :rotfl: but the @real stuff is soooo scary, feels like a giant step backwards.

Igamogam - I have a feeling it might be a bit addictive! I set up an account aeons ago only never really did much with it, but the last few days I've spent more than quite a few hours on it....next step is to actually do something with the ideas collected - DD has taken up journaling (spelling doesn't look right?) which I also quite fancy.

ANYWAY - Tax returns all submitted and tax all paid up and its not even the 31st Jan yet:j:j:j:beer::beer::shocked::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::(_party__party__party_

VAT returns to do by 7th but they should be easy :)

    Night - night

Lazy morning so far, but have just started going through dec/jan receipts to discard/file/update expenditure spreadsheet to get a handle on where we are, and also to start as I mean to go on this year.

Have contacted an old friend I haven't been in touch with for 3 years by email, and got a reply back within minutes:) so ball is back in my court again! This is part of my "open up life" to beyond my tiny family circle again.

Just heard from DD (she called about 30 seconds after I was going to call her but decided against - telepathy;)) and she seems to be so happy at the moment, everything is falling into place, confidence is spilling over, and all because she has worked hard, achieved and been noticed without her going around saying ME ME ME. Recent parents evening for DS also the same, academic results aside, Some heartwarming comments about his character and quiet confidence and someone whose friendship was valued. My heart just swells with pride (I can say that here :);)), So it seems at the moment that all the sacrifice will have been worth it.

Anyway, just need to get on with more filing, then some domestic stuff and dinner to cook before pick up time.

    xx

Sleepless night last night so not a very productive today, but have sorted out insurance renewal for Mum, saved £30 by comparing. Every little helps I guess :)

Working at part time job this afternoon, almost wish I wasn't as just needed to finish what I started in office re: filing.

Quick bite to eat now before I have to go. Visiting mum tomorrow so need to get a few things sorted tonight for her.
