I used to be meticulous and did finances weekly Verbatim, as well as put photos in albums, keepsakes were in boxes, books were on shelves. Then ds came along. I was still working full time, and two children were more than twice the work. Since then everything has been on hold, so to speak. SE and keeping paperwork hasn't helped. Have been going through slowly, last week was discarding stuff from 1990's:o:o:o DS also thinks I don't love him as much as there aren't any albums of him as a baby - whereas DD has load from age 0-5yrs. The difference being a) None of his photos ever got filed/put in albums, and b) digital cameras came in and the photos are scattered all over in the ether somewhere, waiting to be sorted.....I second that. You are amazing NOA
Thank You Bobyou are always there cheering on, I really appreciate it.
Good time to say thank you to everyone on MSE :A, for listening, for support, for sharing experiences, each one of us on our own personal journey but ultimately just wanting to be the best that we can be. I don't really think the journey is about money, certainly not for me anyway, and I honestly think this forum really brings out the "human" in us all.

Focus Focus Focus
Not always easy:( Making phone calls, dealing with probate stuff. Not easy to dissociate oneself from emotion.
Some call handlers very sensitive, others not so.
After being so good yesterday, comfort again eating today, very :mad:with myself. Excuse is that it is very cold again today, hands haven't thawed out from school run! Already had 3 teas, toast, blueberry muffin and cheese/mayo wrap. Need to stop now.

Hello NOA
You are right it is so cold. I met another Mum for coffee and took the kids to the swings. My daughter's hands started to go blue! She won't wear gloves, and apart from shivering was perfectly happy! She was wrapped in lots of layers just the weather so chilly.
I sympathise on the photo thing . We keep saying we must get some pictures of DD printed out but apart from a few new born ones we haven't. If anyone came to our house they'd think we just had the one, although the pics on the wall are very out of date for DS too. OH did actually create an album on Snapfish or the other one for her first year so just need to order it. Waiting for a sale of course
Sorry the probate stuff is still going on and emotionally draining.

Hi Bob,
I hope to do some photo -booking - mum has so many old photos, I'd like to get them all digitised and into one place so that we each have a copy - or we'll be fighting over the originals
Re probate - I have been putting it off after having done the essentials last year, thought we may not need to go through it as all goes to Mum, and estate is under threshold, but Dad has some shares More than 10K which is the threshold in one account so the company need letters of admin to transfer. It's really made me realise how absolutely financially astute my dad was - they never spent money they didn't have, lived simply themselves but were very generous to others, saved for rainy days, and were content morally, spiritually. Puts me to shame. I'm so glad my dad didn't know about about our debts.:(
