After posting I was off browsing self publishing sites - came across a link to NaNoWrMo and had just signed up! Came back to your post!
Trouble is I have no title/ no synopsis etc so can't fill anything in yet but am going to give it a go! Are you a budding writer too?Feb2014 Total unsecured debt £72,520>>01/06/16 £68166>01/02/17 £66,600=8.18%PAID

Not as such - I tried NaNo a many years ago during uni and it was fun but I think I only got to 30k words.
I like the idea of writing a novel, don't have a burning story in me yet. Maybe someday...0 -
In a moment of madness I have just resigned from my part time weekend fun job. The last two weekends have thoroughly drained me.
I have written the first 1200 words. All a bit disjointed but am figuring if all the ideas are noted down it will be easier to revise. Other than that nothing much achieved today. Off to do school run now, then more research tonight as working tomorrow at part time school job

I think I'm going to do NaNoWriMo too Did the camp this summer and ought to be rewriting that novel, but I have another idea pushing itself into my mind... I find it stressful and exhilarating. The first NaNo I did (a couple of years ago) was a little overwhelming, but I hit my target. Trouble is, that novel ended up too short (54,000 words) and was lacking a certain je ne sais quoi, so I declared it unpublishable.
Whatever you end up with, you will learn a lot from the process. I was uncertain about whether I was capable of sustaining a story over more than 10,000 words before I tried NaNo, because my previous novel attempts trailed off before I finished them. Hitting your target also gives you a fantastic sense of achievementRainy day fund — 210/1000 Emergency fund — 1019/1500

Hi Aspiring,
Thanks for posting - I just can't believe I have never heard of it before. That's amazing if you did reach the target - I have no idea what I will end up with. Was the camp good? I have never written 'properly' since school days, I think I would feel quite intimidated by it all but nothing ventured nothing gained! Let me know if you do it again this year!

The camp was pretty good — a couple of people in my cabin were really supportive and motivating. I wrote 70,000 words and went a little crazy...
I signed up for NaNo earlier today and I'm hoping 50,000 is low enough to keep me sane! I don't remember going crazy last time, but it was a couple of years ago.Rainy day fund — 210/1000 Emergency fund — 1019/1500

Good Luck Aspiring!
I am trying to do at least 500 words a day - in between things. I imagine it is going to be a very long labour of love.
Have spent the morning in telephone calls as there has been a dog wondering around this area and sheltering in our porch since 5pm yesterday - has a collar but runs off if you try and approach it.
Called the local Vet, called the Council, called RSPCA. Just had a call about 30 mins ago from the Vets and the owner contacted them looking for info so am waiting for them to turn up - haven't seen the dog since 8.30 though - hope it is still OK.
Working this pm, and then DS birthday on Sunday :-)
Lots to do.
Have a lovely weekend everyone :-)

Well done on getting the mortgage sorted out. That must be a weight off your mind.
Good luck with all the birthday fun. How did the conversation about an alarm for your parents go?

Good Morning and Thanks for popping by Puzz and Chevalier
Very cold this am - 4.5 deg C on school run Brrrrrrr. Need to dig out winter scarves and gloves already. Last few days have raced by in a blur.
Temporarily sorted out a phone with easy dial to 3 numbers for dad to keep on him when he's alone at home, until we agree on something more permanent. The time for them to move is fast approaching I think. Lots of family discussions to have.
Happy Ending with dog reunited safely with owner. I'm not good with big dogs either Puzz, but he was more scared of me I think and I'm glad he found shelter for the night in our porch.
Writing going slowly but doing some everyday. Have no idea yet if I'm any good at it! It's not easy, put it that way! At the moment am just writing as it comes.
Feels a bit less pressured now I have my weekends back. WE didn't manage our normal big family get together for DS birthday but one of my sisters came and we had a very nice time at home just relaxing (and eating). Wanted to bring parents up to give them a change of scene but they had visitors staying - long story!
Splashed out on a great deal and bought a pc for DS £500 - gaming one but also will be good for me to use for work during day - ours are getting pretty slow and frustrating as several years old - its his birthday and Christmas present so he's very happy. My sister gave him a flashy keyboard/mouse and headphone set, and he's agreed to help in the garden for free until December.
One of the quotes not accepted as someone else came in a bit cheaper.
Not heard from the other so things not looking good for SE income for December
Need to write that bestseller and get it published
Got two weeks marking work lined up from Monday - over half term which is a pain. The days we can't cover for him to be with someone will have to be in the library working on his project. Times like tis it would be good to be living in town- he won't stay by himself in the house because we are quite isolated and he can't go anywhere by himself.
Have a good day everyone.
