I can't click the smilies to work at home either - there I use IE. It works on Firefox... If you click on the link, though, you can get the symbols you need to create the smilies and type them out, so : followed by ) =

Has something changed since my last post, as for weeks (since I changed to Windows 10) when I clicked on the links it didn't come up with the symbols , it came up with a long very long command which didn't show up as a smiley! Tried load of different settings!
The only ones that worked were the standard smile and the sad one.
Just testing now....... :rotfl: :T  :beer:

Morning everyone:)
I shouldn't really be on here as I have a mega long list of stuff to do today, but don't know where to start so this was a good place to think about it
My posting on here has been erratic at best but I just don't know where the time goes - days and weeks just blurring into one long haul.
Am so pleased I gave on the part time weekend fun job, just takes off a little pressure on weekend time. Still doing the voluntary work though.
Went to see parents this weekend as it was Dad's birthday - other siblings couldn't make it this weekend, which was sad - two because of health issues, one on a course and the other due to work. I took down a little cake and flowers and we just had a quiet little afternoon, plus did a big supermarket shop with mum to stock them as the weather is getting colder.
SE stuff not really picked up - 2 quotes accepted but they don't want to start until Jan/Feb- it would have been nice to have some extra coming in before Christmas. Still chasing one client for payment of £500.
Good new :j - I won the lottery! Hardly ever buy a ticket but did last week, just on the spur of the moment. Won't let it change my life though, I'll keep working. Need to go collect today (3 numbers - £25) :T
Bad news, have spent over £100 on DS essentials for school. He's playing at a big venue and had to have all black for the concert. £ shirt £19.50, trousers £17, tie £8, shoes £40 and trainers £30.
Another £40 to DD this weekend (£20 for taxi for something I asked her to do) plus £20 for her birthday as she's not coming home. Very frugal but I'll take her shopping when she's home in December.
Feeling very up and down - some days so positive and other days so down that I don't get anything done at all. Mostly I think because am not sleeping more than 3-4 hours per night.
House has got into a real mess now and I need to do a huge blitz so that I'm not doing it all just before Christmas. I'm hoping that everyone will come here, but won't really know for definite until closer to the time.
Need to make a start now ... tempting as it is to stay and just browse diaries over a hot chocolate :rotfl:
Have a lovely day:)
xx

Congrats on the lotto win! DH won £2.80 last week, but isn't quitting his job yet.
Hope Christmas prep goes well - happy we're not hosting (or going anywhere) as the house is a wreck. Maybe we can actually finish off some DIY things over the break and tidy up the house a bit - that'd be a nice change!
Now I want hot chocolate.0 -
Hi Hiddenshadow,
Thanks - I was so excited about it -and congrats to you and DH on your win too!
Managed to get all admin done today, all just completing projects and sending stuff off to clients. Looking into revamping our poorly website which I was never very happy - I think we are paying way over the odds for it and don't use enough of the features that we pay for , so spent some time today browsing for info.
Juts been helping DS with a science experiment he had to do for homework - fun in the kitchen
I love have Christmas at ours ( I usually end up cooking wherever we are anyway!) and its better for the kids as we have the space. Exhausting though!
Hope you had a good day and treated yourself to a hot chocolate too
xx

Thanks Brizzle - Plodding is my new middle name
Everything is very sluggish, the dark mornings and evenings don't help mood, and weather has been so miserable this week I have hidden myself away - what I should be doing is getting waterproofs and wellies on and clearing the garden!
