Sky Sports 5

It doesn't start a new minimum term unless you take up the free broadband offer. However, I agree that it's a peculiar and suspicious tactic from Sky. The channel should have just launched as normal for every (Sky Sports) subscriber.AbbieCadabra wrote: »i'm sure it said in the small print that this started another 12 month minimum term?0 -
Done a deal with Sky so its back on - the Sky + box updated yesterday -but I've still got SS5! Wonder if the switch off is only occurring on HD boxes???
Further thought -someone said earlier in the thread that SS5 was shown seperately on their bill - not on mine tho'??0 -
It's showing on my online bill as an added extra now that I've activated it. Since you have yet to activate, it won't be showing.brewerdave wrote: »Further thought -someone said earlier in the thread that SS5 was shown seperately on their bill - not on mine tho'??
I thought you'd lost all Sports channels through cancellation? (see post#10)
Which version of the "R10" update do you have?0 -

I got a deal yesterday -all my previous channels with a 50% discount for a year plus a £25 bill credit!!!!:T
R10 update? I'm using a Sky+ box not HD - my op.system s/ware version is 1.31B11
And the EPG s/ware is 5.08.60 -
Well done. Are you certain Sky Sports 5 wasn't added by the operator who offers you the deal? Do you still have the "Activate" icon on the channel?brewerdave wrote: »I got a deal yesterday -all my previous channels with a 50% discount for a year plus a £25 bill credit!!!!:T0 -

Just checked -still have the "Activate" button on the screen!!0 -
The channel will disappear at some stage then, just as it did with me and others. I'm surprised the operator didn't add it for you. It took twelve hours to "activate" (basically overnight), so I'd do it now if I were you. Taking the deal has already entered you into a new minimum term so you have nothing to lose.brewerdave wrote: »Just checked -still have the "Activate" button on the screen!!0 -
I'm not bothered to be honest -don't think I've watched anything on SS5 - all I've done is flick over to it, to see if the message is still there! If it vanishes and there is anything I'd like to watch then I might consider phoning!!
Somebody said that SS4 was shown on their bill as a bonus to Sports Pack as well - I've looked back thru all the bills I've had -and its never been shown seperately!!0 -
I've got the main 4 sky sport channels.
Originally sky sports 5 worked on the telly but now doesn't.
But on skyplayer on the computer s sports 5 still works.0 -
As above, you have to press the red button while on the channel to "activate" it.trollopscarletwoman wrote: »I
