Mcdonalds is so boring in the UK!

Why are Mcdonalds so boring in this country? There is no originality or exciting burgers and menu items like you see in other countries. Dont they realise that more people would come to eat there if they had promotions that were exciting, rather than just another burger in a different bun or with bacon on!
Nonsense. I think their business is doing quite well as it is!0 -

In all fairness, it's not really up to you to tell other people what they can and can not do.
I'll do what I like with my money thanks.
I will eat meat (because it's delicious). Every now and then I'll go to Mcdonalds if I want.
Do what you want, but don't presume to tell others what they must do with theirs.

Because with all due respect, it's crap food. If you want a proper burger go to Goumet Burger Kitchen.
Sometimes I crave McDonald's and what do I buy? Nuggets that I know are made from all sorts and a Big Mac or maybe a quarter pounder with cheese that's full of crap. I go because it's plastic cheap food And I like it but I don't complain it's not exciting.
The big M know that people go there for a quick cheap crappy burger and stick with what has been popular for a looooong time.
If I want something decent and exciting I go to Gourmet Burger Kitchen, where for the same price of a large maccy D's meal you can a proper burger that exciting, fresh and you can't beat that!
I wouldn't call McDonald's food plastic. The beef patties don't have anything other than salt and pepper added. They also use particular cuts, not bum holes or anything. Same with the chicken nuggets, they are chicken breast meat, and I don't think it's chopped and shaped either, but may be wrong (haven't tried them myself).
I think a lot of people have assumptions over here because McDonald's sells crap in America, pink sludge in burgers etc, but for some reason they have a different attitude with the stuff they sell here.
Never been to the Gourmet Burger Kitchen, (although one is opening up here soon so will be trying it), but have tried the Handmade Burger Company, and it was delicious. But, their burgers are about four times the size and price.
If I want something quick, cheap and cheerful then I will have a Mc D's burger, and I'm generally quite fussy with the meat I eat. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
I think we are meant to be impressed that the OP has visited America......unfortunately the standards there are lower in terms of food quality In branches there compared to here.
My favourite MaccyD fail in the US was the branch in Utah which only brewed coffee when people asked for it (Mormon town so lots of customers didn't drink coffee)
I do remember getting very excited that the branch in Andorra sold egg McMuffins ( this was after the Uk had discontinued them as all day menu items and not yet introduced breakfasts)
Like Barry whilst it is nice the OP is concerned that MacDonalds may not get enough customers I don't see they have any shortage of them.
I rarely use MacDonalds in the US except for road trip pit stops . If I'm eating in there are so many better places even for a quick bite.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
During the World Cup, Mcdonalds were selling all sorts of different burgers in Germany based on different countries i.e. They had an Italian burger with mozzarella in, a German, Brazilian burger etc. There were 4-6 options. I did think at the time I bet they aren't doing this in the UK.0

Just a small selection of promos in KFC South Africa. I don't think we get any of these over here.

You can get a burger at Gourmet Burger Kitchen for the price of a large Maccy D's meal? Really?
I was in there couple of weeks ago and it cost twenty quid for burger, fries and a milkshake...(lucky I wasn't paying )
I said you can get a burger for the price of a mac d's meal.
If you think £5 is over priced for a burger well no wonder why the big M are so popular. (Remember, I DO eat and like Mac d's)
Maybe it's where you are? I am in London and myself and partner got Two burgers, chips to share and a milshake for £20.
So not sure why yours came to that much?
I'd rather pay for a decent bit of meat than something that's plastic. However, for cheap fast food or for the times I crave plastic, I eat at Macdonald's.
But given the choice I know what I'd rather go for any day.The more I live the more I am shocked by ignorance, the more I realise we as a human race are doomed because of the chains we continue to wear.
People need to open their minds to the myriad of possibilities even in traditional circumstances. If I could delete my MSE account I would.0 -

If you want an exciting variety of burgers try somewhere a bit more up-market like GBK or Byrons.
For most people it's McD's or go home.... I must admit I'd rather go home.
For most people, the two places you suggest don't exist. I've never heard of them, so I googled them.
GBK is mostly London - I used their store locator and it tells me the nearest to me is 50 miles away (across 2-3 counties).
Byrons has one about 60 miles away.
But ... I've still never heard of either of them.0 -
They both charge £7+ for a burger - that's a pretty limited clientèle in most of the UK. Why have a burger, when you can have a steak in the pub down the road?0

My husband passes this on his way to work. So far he has resisted temptation.
