HiWe went to see Avenue Q when in NYC in June and it was very very funny - adult humour mind! Try Broadwaybox.com and subscribe to their updated, I got quite a lot of money off our tickets as Broadway is not cheap!"Aim to win in 2013 - a holiday somewhere nice, New York break, treats for family & friends & some cash would be lovely!!!0 -
Someone on here asked about recommmendations for eating out, I used Tripadvisor obviously, but found menupages.com a brilliant way of getting info. Our best meal (twice - as we cancelled one meal and went back) was Maroons - southern soull food - wonderful food, good atmosphere and very cheap - amazingly so.Our worst meal was Peter Lugers, over priced and over ratedAim to win in 2013 - a holiday somewhere nice, New York break, treats for family & friends & some cash would be lovely!!!0

I am looking to just fly to New York during the school holidays next year 2008, as I have relations out there who will put us up.
I have tried a couple of sites and they don't seem to like me trying to book that far in advance.
Is it best to wait or start trying to get deals now?
We live on the SW Wales coast but can travel as far a Manchester and Stanstead and its for 3 adults and a 14yr old , any suggestions
Many thanks0 -
i think you normall have a limit of 330 days, so wait til september and you should be able to book. however, offers don't normally appear til nearer to the time, so you gotta keep checking for the best price.0

If you're heading off to New York, my recommendation is to visit bar 89
It's just off Broadway/Greenwich Village area. doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's a really nice bar.
Excellent food, great atmosphere & the toilets.......you have to go just to see the loos! (communal male/female clear glass cubicles, which frost over as you lock the door). The margaritas were very more-ish!0 -

 Really If I wasn't there with teenagers I'd go to see for myself.
Can anyone recommend a guitar and accessories shop? My son said the bigger the better if poss, or maybe an area he should head for with a few about.
Also is there any live band restuarants that we could go to that will allow teenagers? his into Rock/blues.

some of the best bargains can be had during august...it may be worth looking at someone like maxjet or silverjet if you want to book in advance next year ...sometimes they have offers on that bring the fares quite close to an advance economy booking ...someone may tell you when BA or AA offered the lowest prices this year for that period ...i think it was fairly recently0 -

We flew with Continental from Bristol and was quite impressed actually and the price was not much different to flying from Gatwick and by the time you worked out how much it would of cost to park at Gatwick and fuel getting there it actually worked out cheaper. We booked about 6 months ahead, just before Xmas when all the fog was causing havoc! A week or 2 later all of the prices had risen by about 10 to 15%Aim to win in 2013 - a holiday somewhere nice, New York break, treats for family & friends & some cash would be lovely!!!0 -
Hiya,
IMHO, the Zagat guides are quite reliable for reviews and you'll see restaurants, etc., putting up the favourable ones in their windows.

As for what's on in NYC (you mean Manhattan?), have a look at: http://www.nycvisit.com/
OR

OR

Finally, I'm a big TripAdvisor fan - always worth a look.
Have fun! Hope it's cooler (sister says it was 95 in Brooklyn earlier this week).steviehud37 wrote: »Hi
