£15.84/£80 so far this month. 2 Lidl shops - 1 main one of £6.50 (yoghurt, houmous, butter, eggs, tinned tomatoes, chickpeas and kidney beans) and then another one the next day of £3.13 for the things I forgot. Also £4.21 at the shop I use for f&v - potatoes, mushrooms, aubergines and celery, and 3 bags of pittas for £1.
I also spent £1.98 in the 99p shop. I got a bottle of argan oil shampoo and a big bag of fruit and nuts.
I should only need to spend a fiver or so over the weekend.Saving for deposit: Finished! :j

Grocery NSD today again. DH bought some tile separators for a couple of quid but that's his expense so I consider today a personal NSD!
Tomorrow it will be a fairly big spend day as it is stock up day, farmers market and nuts and seeds. Possibly even a quick trip to L1dl. And planned tenner spend on fish and chips. But in the famous word of Scarlett O'Hara, tomorrow is another day!
Good night. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Today and tomorrow will be NSDs (grocery wise - there might be a need for other spends, builders stuff and journey to see family in Italy). But on Saturday we plan to have fish and chips with some friends and we invited them so we are buying. Luckily 2 portions share well for 4, done it before and it works.
What's the norm for planned treats e.g. Fish and chips, should I incorporate the expense in the grocery budget or in the entertainment budget?
I know that each of us does in our own way, but I am curious to hear others' opinion in this. In spite of being a long time OSer on this forum, I have never tried to do it in a structured way, but the time has come (DH retirement approaching) when I really need to get to grips with proper budgeting.
Thank you for your contributions.
A planned treat at the chippy is for me obly when my DGS comes and I only buy for him as I am following SW healthy eating, I only include in GC food for me, so the chippy meal for DGS is entertainment budget.Slimming World at target0 -
My early night has not happened but it has been worth it. I have some jam, most of it ruined
but at least one is edible, in the cupboard, 5 jars of chutney (1 for us, 1 for Mum to say thanks for the veg which I turned into chutney and 3 for Christmas presents) and a punnet of plum halves and cooking apples in the freezer ready for a crumble.
So with that I am heading to bed later than I have done in a long time. Night allStay at home Mum to DS Oct 2011 and DD Dec 2013
