100% agree ~ I think they just throw out randoms words in the vain hope they make a sentence - however, to also make that sentence make sense is beyond most of them :p:p

Right, I'm here with my two pence worth :D

    Ste, you're an absolute sweetheart.

Sar, you're fab, please dont you dare stop posting :naughty: There'll be a DFW trip to Staffordshire if you do my girl

We were very naughty recently and went out and bought a Wii. My hubby had wanted one for ages, and I gave in. We dont go out, neither of us smoke and we never go on holiday. We have had so much fun with it, it was a top buy - all four of us have been playing since first thing this morning, and having a right laugh. In the past, DD would've been in her room, I'd have been watching TV somewhere, and the boys would've been on the X Box, so it's brought us together as a family again.

Yes, the money could have been spent on repaying a debt, but I dont care. We have to have some treats, or else life will become unbearable.

I'm a bit like you Sar, I dont want or need much in life to make me happy. I'm happy if my family are happy.

And besides, it's no-one else's business what the heck we do or buy is it

    Hi Sar

Don't stop posting.. You are so honest, I am not sure I would have had the nerve to post about the ps3 as I guessed someone might have something to say. What you are doing is bringing to the attention of all MSE posters what life is really like. Nagging husbands and kids etc....

My DD (at quite a young age) used to nag and nag and nag and wouldn't take no for an answer. I would then give in. One day I asked her why she wouldn't take no for an answer and she quite openly said because you always give in eventually! (actually that was the last time I did).

Also you should place a value on things you buy. If it gets used millions of times then that item has been value for money. Its the impulse buys that are expensive mistakes, not the considered buys. If Ste is going to use the ps3 loads then who are we to moan. (speaking as someone who gave an M&S voucher of my own free will because I wanted to - not so I could tell someone how to live their life).

BUT do yourself a favour IA - give yourself £10 at least. Even if you don't spend it - put it somewhere and save it. Maybe then next time you have a night out you have the money already saved. Z is right, even if you think you don't want/don't need things it may cause resentment in the future. (speaking from experience!)

love to all - loved the pics

Thanks Sammy... funnily enough I've already got a night out organised for Friday with SIL and BIl's girlfriend again so this week I'll have to have my £10! lol...

  • hi have posted but not very often, I am like u ia, young (only 22) with hubby (24) two children (4 and 1). We used to be in debt but instead of asking my dad to help us out was stubborn and worked ourselves out, still had treats (which we felt guilty for afterwards) but we are no longer in that position, and we are both glad that we did it ourselves from working hard and cutting back.We are now in the position of being debt free for a year and we are still on cut backs but we have treats alittle more than we did, but still have to make sure we need them. lolYou are doing very well and you should be proud of yourselves, everyone deserves a treat wether debt free and absolutely loaded or in debt, life goes on.Out of curiosity (and sorry for gatecrashing) but do you live in stafford?bec x
