Don't stop posting IA-I love your thread. Sometimes my kids say something like can they have some sweets, I say no and they ask the same question over and over again in the hope that eventually they'll wear me down and I'll say yes. There's an episode of the Simpsons where Bart and Lisa do this and eventually fed up of listening they are given in to. Ste reminds me of this.;) My own husband could be similar only he's not as good at whinging so consequently I'm better at saying no. If he/I wasn't we'd have got an i-pod, a weekend away in December and a dog and that's only this weeks requests:eek:
Maybe something you have to point out is to Ste is that he has already had w x and y this year and he can only have z when such and such is paid off. Maybe you will have a treat worth £so much when barclays and citi has gone for example.

Can I have my tupence worth? Ok here goes. My main concern is Sarah is not treating herself once in a while. She looks after 2 kids and one big kid! I look after one kid and that is very hard work! Lol. I can't image what it's lie with 2! She deserves a treat! She has been the inspiration on this board for many people including myself. I feel gulity when I treat myself but only because I'm saving for a big treat. Lol. I can see everyone's opinions but the important thing is that Sarah gets herself the next big treat. Another thing never stop posting. It makes my day go quicker. Lol. Best Wishes.I am full of joy, abundance, wealth and love.I am a money magnet. hi all... ia's hubby here typing when i should be working... lol.
anyways, have been following this thread for the past hour and feel i have to speak up.
YES, i am a world class whinger and do buy a lot of electrical 'tat' but thats the way i have always been. i'm the sort of person that feels he needs that latest of everything. i'm sure you know people like that, they can be intolerable (lol).
BUT, I love my wife dearly. This is why i didnt just go out, buy one and come back announcing that i had a ps3 and there was nothing she could do about it. The amount of times I have tried to make Sar buy stuff for herself but she just wont. Only saturday just gone, I had to go into a shop and buy her a skirt because she couldnt justify spending on herself. (sunday we bought her some knickers but less said about that the better) I want her to be happy and I love to see her smile and therefore will not do anything without her permission. Jesus, I dont even go to the pub.. its cheaper to drink in.
I dont plan on wanting anything for a long while now so dont expect any whines about me for ages (i'm keeping my head down for a while).
Thanks for all your messages of support for what sar is doing... she truly is my hero. God knows what kind of trouble i would be in if i hadnt have found her and i thank god (even tho i'm not religous in any way), the day i met her.
I love you sweetheart and cant wait to get home to give you big huugs!!!!

IA have to say my dh was much the same but that was 20 years ago and I wasn't good like you, I carried on with the "giving" but never confronted the spending, hence where we are now!! You are an inspiration and I admire your sense and your honesty - I'm quite sure when you and Steve celebrate your 24th Wedding Anniversary (as my dh and I will in october - eek!!) you won't be scrimping and saving and on a dmp you will partying and quite rightly cause you deserve it!!
love and hugs to you and your
IDA

PS: Ste don't ever forget what a lucky man you are and never ever take Sar for granted ..... or else!!!!!I stopped smoking 25th June 2007STILL Never complacent but confidentMy debt is GOING DOWN!!!!0 -
Toto - as always your post sums it all up to a tee.
IA ~ if you stop posting then I shall come to Stafford and kick your butt
Ste ~ that post made me bubble (and I'm at work :rotfl:) and I think added to what Toto said about Sar being happy then you are all happy then no more should be said on the matter!!
If IA is happy and doesnt feel *deprived* then who are the rest of us to judge ~ lets face it, she certainly seems the type who would pipe up and *sort it* if she did feel that way.
I justify any monies spent on miserable bollox's egg-box by thinking of the alternative ~ speaking to him ~:eek::eek:
lots of love

Ste that is so lovely to read, it brought tears to my eyes!!! Your wife is absolutely amazing, and a real friend and inspiration to many of us on this site!!! Your girls are beautiful, and you are a wonderful husband (I wish I could get my OH to half as MSE/DFW as you!)
Well done for posting, and for supporting each other on your DFW mission, best of luck to all of you!

For one to have, and the other to have no - is a recipe for resentment. And not neccesarily in the direction you may think.immoral_angeluk wrote: »The only time I really go anywhere is to tesco to do our weekly food shop!
You do need to get out more - if only for the sake of the kids, but it will do you some good too. I have relatives whose child can't walk on any kind of incline. She's been in so much of her life, that all she can walk on is flat floors.
When her Grandmother takes her out, she falls over in the park because it's not perfectly level."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
