What mic are you using? I assume you're talking vocal mics? It's kind of hard to offer a suggestion without knowing the PA setup. Are you using a desk, are you micing the amps for the guitar/bass. What is the PA?
:D:D. The PA and mic I have no idea as it was just stuff supplied by the studio. The mic was just a bog standard old style one. The kit and MIC were directly into the PA.
Make sure you're using a decent vocal mic, you really can't go wrong with a Shure SM58 which is a classic and reliable vocal mic. You see them everywhere. I think the audix OM7 is the best vocal mic on the market, you get so much gain out of that mic, you do need a good mic technique though, but you get no spill from overheads and the such like because it's directional. It isn't cheap though. I have a bunch of SM58 here, I'll donate one if you need it, we use the audix mostly now so they don't go out a great deal any more.
Not sure what was going on with the bass cab last week though.. had to turn the volume RIGHT up to get sound out of it and then the middle notes were dropping out...Looking forward to putting the Laney properly through its paces though.

Ok, I'll send you a 58, sounds like you need something decent. Pm me the address again and I'll post it tomorrow, you should have it before next practice.
Sounds like the cab is pretty knackerednot much else to say about that. Try out the 58 though and see how you go. It might just be that the vocal mic isn't picking up the frequencies to cut through the drums.

Your MIL seems quite nice though, if you tell her how you are feeling, I bet she would do it as a one off, just to let you catch up with a bit of sleep.
If you still haven't had any sleep by January I will get up with them in the night for you when I sleep on your sofa for the DFW meet....lol! (I know it's a long way off, but you've got to have something to look forward to. eh? :rotfl:)Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Hurrah! We just won a new kick trigger for Ste's kit on ebay... saved a good £20 on a brand new one too.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=260170633578&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=016
Plus even with paying for that out of Ste's wages we can still save £92 out of his wages because I'd messed up my spreadsheet so the figures I'd done before were wrong
Here's the correct one..
909.12
33.75 saved in bank
44 tax credits oct
94.25 wages tomorrow after paying for kick trigger
120.8 cb 6th nov
163.43 wages 20th nov
£88.00 TC noc
30 quidco end oct
70.08 TCB beg. nov
38.18 ebay so far
£226.63 to find
I know everyone will probably tell me off for agreeing to get him a new kick trigger.. but considering my spreadsheets were wrong it's technically not made any difference :rotfl: plus what we're selling in ebay should more than cover it (fingers crossed)
Just need to find a cheap decent double pedal now and Ste will be sorted *cough**ahem**hides*Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043
