Lazy Saturday and Sunday not much better so decided to get my act together more today.

Up and dressed by 7.30, dog walked by 8.30, in Marks & Spencers by 9.30. Birthday present bought for friend I am meeting tomorrow, some socks for me (have had to throw so many holy ones away recently) and some food bits and am now back home.

Plan is to do jobs til lunch then relax and enjoy the bank holiday - DH and I are going to the cinema this evening to see the new George Clooney film.

    So today's jobs are:
    Clean bathroom
    Clean main bedroom
    Change DS's sheets
    Tidy kitchen
Hoover through - now the weather is warmer the dog is malting like nobody's business

Still haven't cleaned main bedroom but I have taken a big step this morning and put some clothes in one of those charity bags we are always getting. I have clothes in every size from 10 to 20+ result is a bedroom that is too cluttered, depression every time I open my wardrobe and the inability to find anything. Have only put about 5 items in there but its a start!

Off out to meet a friend shortly for a walk but its just started raining! Still if we let the weather put us off we would never do anything in this country huh.

The week is flying by and I don't know if it's because I've unwound or if I'm just being lazy but have been feeling tired and not really got that much done.

Yesterday did a supermarket shop - first time I'd been in for ages, more expensive than on line but got quite a few stock up bits.

Took DS to see Captain America in the afternoon - very impressed with the cinema as it charges a lower fee in the afternoon than the evening. Film not really my cup of tea but DS really enjoyed it and do find it hard to find things we can do together now he's older - feel ashamed even admitting that

On that note dragged DS shopping today - 2 pairs new short, pack of pants, school trousers and a couple of school shirts - best part of £70:cool:

Didn't buy anything for myself but do want a few bits for the kitchen, no rush though.

Just watching telly now - DS took the dog out this afternoon, on his own and without me asking - quite touched by that - a sign he is maturing and starting to think about others I think.

Had better cook something for dinner tonight if only to feel slightly less guilty about the lack of housework!

Busy weekend ahead as the new floor in hall, kitchen and downstair loo is being fitted starting Monday. To be honest am dreading it.

Need to clear out everything we can thats on the floor including the fridge freezer which is huge and heavy!

I am intending to go to my parents house to work & will take the dog with me. That in itself is complex as they live a 20 minute drive away and I need to think about where DS goes when he gets in from school etc.

I am so not cut out for this - could never do a full house renovation job.

DH is off to Edinburgh for the week Monday morning which he swears is coincidental.

    Job list coming up

    Do 2 loads washing
Sort all washing out and put away
Clear out hall ready for new floor
Clear out kitchen ready for new floor

At least the weather is good so I can dry the washing outside. DH will disconnect washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher this evening - didn't realise that was going to happen and as he is away all week that means they won't be reconnected until Saturday.

Day one of the floor fitting, they have removed the old floor and latexted the floor. I took the dog and went to my parents to work - they rang at 12.30 to say they were finished and the floor would take about an hour to dry.

On the basis that my parents live a 30 minutes drive away the dog and I came back home. Lets just say I learned the hard way how to test is a latex floor is dry - there is now a whacking great footprint on it  So annoyed with myself. Am hoping it won't have an impact - it doesn't look too bad - I'm heavy but didn't put my full weight on it :rotfl:

Had an email from UK management at work today - stating that while they appreciate it's a personal decision they have had questions about the EU referendum and wanted to communicate the company's position.

Words fail me to be honest - I suppose lots of big companies have stated a position regarding the referendum but the way I feel about mine I'm more likely to do the opposite to what they 'advise' ;)

Floor fitting day 2 --- about 60% of the floor is down and is looking good. Hopefully we are over the worst now, they are certain they will finish tomorrow, its a real faff going back and to between home and my parents house.

No money news - aside from the horrendous cost of the floor  although I suppose I'm using more petrol than normal but I don't want to become that pedantic

Haven't slept well since Saturday, combination of the floor, the heat and DH being away (am always a little on edge when he isn't here). It's finally rained a little here this evening so hoping it will clear things.

Have booked DS into drama club for a week in the school holidays - £150 but money isn't going too badly this month.

Still no update on the redundancy programme- they are still to agree terms with the employee forum. In US last week they made hundreds of staff redundant - told them on the Monday and the Tuesday was their last day. How differently they do it there.

Phew floor is finished & is looking good. I have been madly peeling off the blue film on the cupboard end panels but frustratingly can't do the door fronts as DH will need to loosen the handles or we'll have little bits of blue film left.

Am somewhat annoyed by how much I cant' do until DH gets home tomorrow evening but so glad to have the house back and have had a quick wipe around to remove some of the dust.

Still tired although slept better last night.

Put friends off until Sunday so we have all of Saturday to get the house straight which is good.

Am physically exhausted, have been cleaning and sorting stuff out in the house since 10 this morning. Very humid and was sweating buckets.

Still its pretty much all done, hall is back in order with a better organised storage/utility area. Kitchen is back in order and the blue film has been removed from all cupboard/drawer fronts - am loving the high gloss cream of them now - really helps with perception of light in the room as well.

Am loving the floor and despite the high cost am really glad we went for it and also got the hall as well as kitchen/wc done. Just hope it is durable as I don't want to replace it for at least 10 years!

We have also reclaimed the lounge as 90% of the stuff has been moved out with just a few bits left which I'll sort out in the morning.

Have also done 4 loads of washing so have caught up with that.

All in all a highly productive day.

DH has just nipped out to pick up a Chinese (naughty but feel its deserved ;)).

We'll watch the match tonight - not into football but get a bit patriotic when its England and DS quite likes it.

Apart from the ironing tomorrow feel pretty much on top of household chores so looking forward to lunch with our friends tomorrow - just hope the weathers ok and we can bbq.

The downside of the new kitchen/floor is it shows up how shabby the walls are and how badly they need painting. We will get that done but not sure I can face it for a couple of months :D

Am sat here with a beer as well so enjoying the weekend. :T
