I suspect the job is in the public sector where is it not a perk of the job to fiddle flexi time ?

It is never a perk of your job to fiddle your flexi-time, public sector or not.

Oh, of course. Public sector - lazy and cheating. Private sector - honourable and trustworthy. I should have realised.

    Jeez......

Fiddle your flexi-time in the public sector and your career comes to an abrupt end.

That's weird. When I was a civil servant, and asked what I did with my time sheet, I was told that it was just for my own records, and would never be checked.

It's almost as though you've made a sweeping statement there that I was able to disprove with a single example...

On the otherhand it seems perfectly acceptable to come in at 7 and 'start work' by cooking breakfast and making a cup of tea as you peruse your emails for an hour?

People trying to drive this off topic into a public v Private debate to suit their own agenda?

Back to the topic perhaps or start a new thread?

ps I know a mate in the private sector can pop out for errands if he wants. I know a mate in the public sector that also does. I also know mates in both that can't. I sort of think that covers the debate really.
