Shouting isn't a criminal offence either. Nor is it gross misconduct. (That's IF it happened. Odds are it didn't.)
Criminal offence.
Please provide proof of that.
If we are working on pinching some work time for private means is that a 'criminal offence.'
Altering time sheets-bosses do it all the time-over hours one week you add hours worked to next week.0 -

If your employer is not aware, and you go to lengths to hide it from your employer then it's fraud. Which is a criminal offence.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

Hide what?
The shouting still needs to be answered.0 -

Oh my goodness.
The OP has stated that the person she's referring to hasn't just been found to be AWOL during the working day, but lied about how long she'd been and that she'd been given permission. Then she says that the person has also been fiddling their timesheet by clocking out and then in which deducts half an hour for lunch, even though she is taking far longer. So she is STEALING TIME which she is being paid for.
That's fraud, and illegal. Regardless of that it's gross misconduct and her feet wouldn't touch the floor if she did that while working for me. Best she'd get from it would be an absolutely factual reference that would probably scupper any chance she ever had of getting another job. Oh, and I'd probably sue for the stolen time too.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
Jeez! Are we still being shouted at by a poster with a bee in their bonnet?
Perhaps a job as a trade union rep awaits, although I don't think there's sufficient moral compass or emotional or diplomatic intelligence there to actually help any worker who needed it.0 -
*grabs the popcorn*
Can you provide an example of someone being prosecuted for "STEALING TIME"?
How is theft fraud? I think you're a bit confused here NANU.
It's a civil not a criminal matter anyway.
I'm not sure many people would want to work for a boss so clearly clueless as your good self.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

The stealing time (being paid for work not being done) is theft. as it would be if they had their hands in the till.
The hiding it/lying about it are fraud.
(I'm fully CIPD qualified and have in the past successfully had staff (well, ex -staff) prosecuted for fraud which included theft of money by lying about when they had worked.)Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

Getting another job-that's junk. Sue for stolen time, lol.
Would you do that anyway. Would you scupper someones life chances because you think you are king?
I'll say again stop shouting at people in the workplace.0 -

How much money?0 -

With one it was estimated to £16k. Their manager was in on it (time sheets etc) and had stolen around £22k so they got done too. (They ran the bar and had their hands in the till as well as falsifying time sheets. They were caught after an annual stock audit. All CCTV got checked plus access to cellars and store rooms and they weren't at work when they said and signed that they were. They'd added on average an 8 hour shift a week each. A full review of systems followed!!)Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0
