Boss shouting at work

  • With one it was estimated to £16k. Their manager was in on it (time sheets etc) and had stolen around £22k so they got done too. (They ran the bar and had their hands in the till as well as falsifying time sheets. They were caught after an annual stock audit. All CCTV got checked plus access to cellars and store rooms and they weren't at work when they said and signed that they were. They'd added on average an 8 hour shift a week each. A full review of systems followed!!)

As I read it this employee was it there for a year at most.

The time sheet is a red herring anyway.

I've never really believed the whole scenario.

But the question remains-do not shout at people in the workplace.

It seems bullies can get away with it there but wouldn't try it on elsewhere.

Getting another job-that's junk. Sue for stolen time, lol.

Would you do that anyway. Would you scupper someones life chances because you think you are king?

I'll say again stop shouting at people in the workplace.

As an HR consultant I advise employers be absolutely honest when it comes to references for employees. Of course I also follow that myself!

Did you work somewhere where you got shouted at?

    Shouting is unprofessional and pointless.

I agree she did wrong and needed stamping out before others take the urine and start "popping out", but shouting like a complete !!!!!! fool is just embarrassing.

Most companies are pretty relaxed and understanding to allow employees a bit of time for such things as dentists appointments and the like, so long as employees make up the time and of course ask permission first.

I work somewhere that is flexible working hours- ie I can subject to the needs of the business flex out and run an errand. However it's simple good manners to tell someone that you are popping out- for health and safety reasons if nothing else. Did she tell anyone she was going?

No her boss shouldn't have shouted- unprofessional at best. However unless we know what took place immediately before he shouted how can we criticise him?

Yeah, it sends a message that the manager/boss is a complete (text removed by MSE forum Team) Neanderthal who is incapable of acting professional, calm and strict instructions of dos and donts.
