Definitely see your Dr. this isn't normal (although many suffer like this) . Mirena coil may help. If not, what worked for me was endometrial ablation.
If anyone argues this is medical and not moneysaving I disagree, using a pack of pads and a pack of tampons in a day is very expensive !! So is missing work !
Tena pants are handy for 'special occaisions' to avoid those leaks . Awful but at least you can stop worrying.Decluttering, 20 mins / day Jan 2024 2/20 -
Definitely go to your doctor as there are things that can be done to make this more bearable. Don't be embarrassed - they've seen and heard it all before.
This is going to sound weird, but one of the things that really helped my pain was switching from tampons to a menstrual cup. You'll probably need to still use towels and empty it frequently, but for some unknown reason, when I wear a cup I get fewer cramps and it feels cleaner than a tampon. Its also moneysaving and better for the environment.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
not a nice thing, but if anything else fails incontinence pads can help avoid incidents
they go from just like much bigger sanitary towels that you can get in supermarkets

to the full monty, that cover you from you belly button all the way up to the bottom of your spine (great at night time, if you need them during the day get one that doesn't make a noise like you have a carrier bag in your knickers). Amazon is a good place to get them from.

You can get samples, so you can see what they are like before committing to buy. E.g. http://www.tena.co.uk/women/product-information/free-sample/

Personally I have a problem when people look for a diagnosis by listing a few symptoms, not when it's a matter of giving pointers re. over the counter supplements (or 'ask your doctor about xyz').0 -
Definitely see your doctor. I used to throw up on the first day of my period every month and would be in such pain that I could barely move. Mefenamic acid did the trick for me. Hope your GP can sort something for you0

This has been a big help to me.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -
Do these tablets help with pain or is it just flooding and sickness they deal with?
I come on yesterday at work and I had to leave and lay in the back of my car at one point as the pain was too much. I'm currently training a new employee too so had to leave them on their own because I was just too hot to be indoors and I had to lay down.
The rest of the training session I ended up sitting on the floor with a fan pointed directly at me (luckily the new person is female so understood!!)
Some months its just a bit of pain and others a hell of a lot like yesterday, and I'm still throbbing a bit today.
I also get ovulation pain that can feel a lot like period pain....0 -
I'd say the main effect of the mefenamic acid was to help with the pain
It *may* have also made my periods lighter too, but I went on the pill a few years later so can't remember for sure which one did that.

Did any of it help with the pain?
Mine seem to be getting worse for pain.0
