How would you share a mega-lottery win

I've often thought of this. Believe it or not there is a man up north that won 7 million and his family doesn't know. He goes to work and catchea the postman most mornings. He doesn't want his family to change.
I wouldn't tell my wife. Id simply commission our dream home to be built and when it's done, it will be wrapped in a bow (very father of the bride) and then one day I will take my wife and family out on a pretend trip and end up in front of my rather grand electric gates complete with gatekeeper and hut
After the long drive up the drive through the woods, the house will unfold. In the grounds will be parked our new cars (his and hers).
After canap!s on the lawn, a helicopter will take my mum and dad off to Cornwall to their new beach home and my mother in law will be handed the keys to her golf cart and shown to her cottage in the grounds.
Then the remainder of family and friends will take part in a lucky dip with cheques ranging from £100,000 to £1,000,000. It will be a great day.
Then in the evening, the helicopter will take us to Luton airport to an awaiting private jet to fly us to our new holiday apartment in Manhattan.
As you can probably guess, any lottery win under £10m will be a bitter disappointment0 -
I think of this all the time
if I won a really huge amount like the Euromillions then...
I would probably buy my Mum and Dad's flat for them. It's a council property but it's absolutely beautiful- my Mum keeps it like a show home. They're happy there and I don't think they would want to move. I would also give them a chunk of money to do whatever with.
I would pay off my sis's mortgage and buy them a brand new car of their choosing with tax and insurance as theirs keeps breaking down but they can't afford to replace it and I would also give them some money towards its maintainance and some money for themselves. I would also put some money in trust for my nephews. My older nephew I think wants to go to uni so it would pay his uni fees and living costs in a couple of years.
I would pay off my brother's debts and buy my sister in law a car, however would be loathe to give him any hard cash as he has a gambling problem.
I would buy OH a nice new car- he's not into the really flash cars but he does like the BMW 1 series so probably one of them. And a new house for us both plus the mortgage and repairs needed on this place so it could be rented out. Would pay for him and I to go to Ireland and also to America- both places we would love to go.
Would pay for a holiday for me and best mate to Oz and NZ and would buy an apartment in Notts for us to stay in when she comes down to visit. Would also give her a big chunk of cash.
Would offer to stage a complete buy out of the board at my rugby club but they can carry on running it- I'll just provide the finance and me and my mate can have the odd bit of input. First thing I would do is stop them moving to the god forsaken training ground as they're planning to do
I would donate a large chunk of money to cancer charities and mental health charities.
Pay off my debts and finally go on one hell of a shopping spree..!!!*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
For me it would be a new car .a few holidays but some kind of charity/trust to help disabled young people , something with supported living so that I knew my daughter would be taken care of once we are gone. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I would:
Pay off the mortgage and have a new house built
Start up businesses for my eldest two in whatever venture they wanted, but it would the be down to them to make their own living from it.
Buy each of them a home, nothing extravagant
Keep the same house/business amounts aside for my daughter when she's old enough
My parents have their own home, but if they wanted to move I'd buy them another
My inlaws live in a council flat, I'd offer to buy them somewhere, but I doubt they'd want to move so I'd pay their rent forever more.
I'd pay off my brother's mortgage and give him enough money to visit the UK from Australia whenever he wanted
I'd pay off my business partner's mortgage so that we only had to work for the fun of it
Buy a few overseas properties so that all the family can have holidays whenever they wantedAccept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
It's mine. It's all mine. Two fingers to all of you, you're not getting anything.
I'm sitting here at the kitchen table counting it over and over again then hiding everything under the mattress.
It's all mine.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

I would... pay off my daughters' mortgages and give the youngest one a sizeable chunk to buy her own place. Then get a house where the winters are warm so that I could spend the winters there. Holidays for all the family, whether it be together or on their own. Huge party with all my friends from all corners of the globe invited, including their travel costs. Sparkly new collars for the dogs, and a great big bone each!0

If it was a huge euro win then I'd go all out!
I'd give my current house to a family that I know of who have nothing but give everything.
I'd build a huge, I'm talking 10 bedroom place out in Northumberland somewhere with loads of land for my dogs, indoor/outdoor swimming pool, huge garage to store 10+ cars, the works. MTV cribs style place.
I'd sort out all my friends and family, my old boss who was awesome to me. I'd then spend a lot of time travelling the world over a few years, not taking too much time away at once though, can't be leaving my dogs!
I'd buy a good sized yacht or 2. One in the med and maybe one in Florida/Bahamas.
I'd buy many, many cars, at least 10 for various different reasons.
Most of my life would be one big party though, travelling the world.
I would of course be donating to charity over time. I'd more than likely make some big donations then continue providing donations each year from the interest made on the amount of money I'd have.0 -
My great uncle and aunty won almost £3 million a few years ago. They are great grandparents and did this:
Bought themselves a house (had been in rented flat)
Bought their 2 daughters a house each
Bought their grown up grandchildren a house each - -put similar amounts in trust for their grandchildren and great grandchildren who were still too little)
None of these houses are flash or particularly big by the way!
They also gave each of their siblings £20k
They lost a bit on investments during the recession, and I don't think they have very much left now at all, but they are happy and all their immediate family are secure
I would buy my mum a flat/house, same for my brother and his wife and kids, buy a house for my partner and I. Not sure about my dad as have a complicated relationship with his wife but would find a way to help him out, possibly would buy a house for them to live in but leave it in my name. OH's parents are mortgage free anyway. Wouldn't give OH's brother & girlfriend a penny as neither have ever worked and have made in-laws life a misery while sponging off them and popping out kids they have no way of supporting. Would give decent amounts to a couple of charities I support. Would also pay off the mortgages of my 2 closest friends & my uncle and his wife. Would travel alot, Australia, New Zealand, America, Canada, The northern lights etc. etc.0 -
I would buy my parents a nice little house with the massive garden they've been dreaming of, and pay off the in-laws mortgage.
I'm not sure my siblings would want to accept any money from me to be honest, but I would offer to pay off their student loans to leave them debt free and order a years supply of Applaws for my sisters cat
I would buy a house for me and my OH - I would buy somewhere that was a complete wreck and do it up to our tastes. I'd also buy a car that doesn't leak when it rains.
There are a few small charities that I would like to anonymously donate lump sums to.0 -
If I won say £10 million I would buy up some of the pubs and convert them into flats and rent them to homeless people then any money made once supported into work etch I'd carry on doing the same with. As it's the one things that I don't agree with in society that thousands of people can end up homeless when we have thousands of empty factories and pubs that could be put to good use.
I'd buy a house for a friend I've known for years and possibly 1 or 2 others. I'd also buy another house and let my mum live here for free and have the other house to myself.
I would also send £20,000 cheques to 50 people that has helped me along the way over the years (ex colleagues, people I went to school with as they made school life easier and other people that have made a difference in my life).
I would also put 2 million aside and just use the interest to live on as I don't spend much as it is, so having millions in the bank wouldn't change me but I'd just want to go out more and probably would have the box for football and concerts instead of sitting in normal seats:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one:beer::beer::beer:
