Most of our monthly direct debits and standing orders clear tomorrow so I should be able to sneak under the £22k mark... only two grand to clear then until our figure starts with a 1! VERY exciting! We might even hit the 50% mark next month if DH's bonus goes through.

It's funny how when I started out in August (the best part of £40k in debt), I would look at the diaries of people with around the £20k mark to clear and think it sounded like such a small amount (!) I really used to envy people who 'just' had £20k to clear, but now we are nearly there is still feels like a colossal sum.

Strange how relative everything is, and how our eyes adjust.

I desperately need to go and do a Lidl food shop, just mustering the mental strength as I'll need to drag the kids along :rotfl: Too many top up shops going on recently I'm afraid, they must stop!

I am in awe when I look at how much we've all reduced our debt by.....I also wonder where that money would have gone otherwise :\

Next month mine will start with a 2 and I have the same feeling of excitement that you have starting with a 1 :) fabulous.

    Wow, where is April going?!

We have been having such a busy Easter school holidays that I haven't really had a chance to sit down and take stock!

Not much movement on the money front, but the CC minimum payment came out yesterday- only £33 now so not the nice chunk off it used to be!

Found out that we do get DH's bonus in with his pay at the end of this month so that will clear the rogue CC and hopefully leave some to go off the main CC too.

  • Not much to report here, hence I have been a bit quiet! Everything is all a bit static!

We haven't been doing brilliantly this month what with a few big bills and more spending than we perhaps should have done! I think knowing the bonus is on it's way has kind of made us a bit more lax!

Having a frugal 'using up' week this week though. Had family round for a big BBQ at the weekend so have been using up leftovers ever since. Trying hard not to go food shopping this week- pasta and pesto on the menu tonight!

We have been enjoying the lovely weather and managed to get plenty of seeds planted in our little garden vegetable plot- looking forward to eating home grown stuff later in the year. Still keep feeling tempted to get some chickens but resisting!!

Or make your own from pallets - very low cost. We fenced off a run the width of our garden and used our shed for them to have as their house. So when we are not there they have the strip at the bottom of the garden and when we get in we open the gate to the rest of the garden so they can come out and sunbathe! I'd love a goat or two and some ducks but I have to wait for the next house to do that - how tedious....!
