This was all covered in the forum basics you agreed to have read and understood as part of your signup.

No need for sarcasm, it was a simple question. I'm looking for help not arguments

Surely it's reasonable to expect new posters to make at least some attempt to figure out how the forum works that they're posting on.

The reason you've had a slightly snarky reply is because you don't appear to have done that and want regulars to hand-hold you through a process that really isn't difficult.

You will get good quality help with your enquiry, but come on, there needs to be a bit of an effort at your end.

To be honest I thought this was the same as other forums where you post, I received the letter this morning and wondered if anybody could offer any advice as I was worried. I'm not expecting anybody to hold my hand, but I clearly wasn't prepared for such attitudes! Not a very friendly forum at all! Think I'll just sort the problem myself

I'm sorry you feel that way. It really isn't as unfriendly as you make out, but you really are making a meal of this.
  • HI,

about 6 months ago I got a parking charge from a company that operates on a free car park on a retail site! They said in this letter, which I still have, that they sent 2 previous letters, and the one I got was the 3rd. which is a lie!! This letter arrived about 2 months after I used the car park! I got one and only one letter!. On this letter was my car, entering & leaving, stating times and dates! Maybe my eyes don't work to good. but any signs was not so obvious! I even went back to check for signs, which are there. but in small writing! I was a little over half an hour late! I made no contact. To be honest I thought it was a scam!! The letter was no more than an invoice at best! That anyone could make up. but at the same time I was aware it was my car!! So after some searching I did nothing about it. Today I get another letter, this time from DRP Debt recovery plus ltd, saying i have basically 12 days to arrange or pay in full the amount I owe! which has increased from my letter from TPS! who also have tried to charge me nearly twice the amount of a standard fine!! I need some good advice I can be happy with, what ever my next action should be??? Thanks in advance.

Debt collectors are barrel-scrapers and rely on people's ignorance of the fact that they have no more power to chase debts that you or I. Don't fall for their bluff and bluster. They will not and cannot "enforce" any private parking ticket - amd especially not DR+.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

just read the NEWBIES sticky thread in that forum (the same forum this thread is in), usually about second one down from the green banner, tells you about debt collectors and ignoring them , especially DRP and TNC (same company)

if you need further help, please start your own thread using the blue NEW THREAD button, top left near the green banner
