Well the new cooker is in and thankfully it all went smoothly :T It's fair to say that I am pretty pleased with it
sad I know as it's just an object :rotfl:
I have cooked my first meal in it/on it and just pondering testing it out with a cake tomorrow....0 -

Hi B*W and hurrah for the cooker! Glad it's in safely and working properly. Did you have to have cold meals for those days whilst your microwave and cooker weren't working?
The book looks very interesting, trying to work out if it would be something Mr. Hbbb might fancy for a change for Christmas, I like the idea of the exploration of media, that'd be the bit that would grab him, I think.
Well done for the OPs this week, you're doing very well. It made me smile, the odd number MOP so that the spreadsheets are tidy ... it seems to me that this only works one way, spreadsheet tidy = random number MOP, rounded up MOP = odd numbers on spreadsheets, would be interesting to get a lovely round number that works for both one of these days!
Hope you have an easy day and that you're sleeping a bit better. xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Thanks Hbbb
The old cooker did work (although not brilliantly) so I wasn't left without cooking facilities entirely. However, it's nice to have a fully functioning kitchen again!
The book was a good read - bit different and in some places thought provoking without being too heavy.
There definitely is a tendency to rounding up spreadsheets round here lol
Have a good sunday yourself

Well I have tested the cooker out well today. 2 cakes baked - one chocolate and one carrot (the latter I will take to work) - and also a pizza. Still stupidly pleased with my purchase
Have claimed a £15 Am@zon voucher from a survey site0 -
Morning
Well this week has certainly passed in a bit of a blur!
Work has been uber busy and I was also away at a 2 day conference mid week which didn't help. I'm pretty tired now and also seem to have developed a sore throat and a coughHoping it doesn't turn into anything more
Money news:
No mortgage OP's this week
Won £10 on the lottery :j
Received £7 of Amazon vouchers from a survey site :T
Been quite a low spend week other than I ordered some flowers for my Mum's birthday. I tried a new company and got a good deal with £10 off and cashback :T Mum says the flowers are lovely so will probably use them again
Other news:
Cooker is fabHave been trying the different functions bit by bit. Thinking of baking another cake if I can muster the energy today
All plans for the weekend have been shelved as I want to rest as much as possible so won't be straying far from the house I don't think.
Have a lovely weekend all

Hello BW, you are going great guns on the overpayments :j
I am ashamed to say that I'd managed to fall about 2 months behind with your diary. As a MSE old timer, I am still used to use as the helpful sprite who would pop up on other peoples diaries to offer motivation. You've taken to keeping your own diary like a duck to water and I'm not used to it yet!
I hate to alarm you, but have you considered the possibility that you've recently developed super powers? It might help to explain all the kitchen appliance deaths
We have also joined the new oven club, although I wired ours in. I followed the manufacturer's instructions to the letter, but ours is only connected with a plug. Some colleagues I have mentioned this to have been horrified, but like your oven it's very energy efficient (A+) and draws very little power. So, feeling a little conflicted, but surely the manufacturer is right?
Your baking sounds lovely. I'm not much of a fan of sweet things, so our first proper oven test will be a roast chicken dinner with all the trimmings. I'm brining the chicken with a reliable recipe from a chef called Michael Ruhlman.
Have a lovely weekend, keep us updated on the cooking projects :beer:0 -
Awww thanks Mr Ed - that's very kind of you
I'm just happy (and still surprised!) that anybody would take the time to read my ramblings.
Re superpowers :rotfl:that sound much better than the angel of death (to kitchen equipment) that I have been called - think I might adopt that ... cheers
I have to say that your roast chicken sounds lovely. I look forward to hearing how it turned out.0 -
Hi Bookworm, I think a cake baked in your new oven, a slice with a :coffee: and a relax on the sofa would be a good way to spend the afternoon.
Sorry to hear you've come down with a bug.
