What do you mean gives way? High streets always have had privately owned retail spaces.
    Simple concept...

Old way: High Street public space, shops private space.
New way: Shopping Centre and shops - all private space.
They are perfectly entitled to ban people providing it's not due to discrimination.
I am not disputing that. I am correcting someone who incorrectly suggested that Tesco can do what they like.
You could try and claim we're born into any sort of society if you want. The long and the short of it Tesco is not a public right of way.
That's fine. Come back and tell us if you ever find yourself on the wrong end of an arbitrary bit of enforcement by a private company...

Shopping centres are hardly new, they were about when my gran was my age!

They can ban who they like providing it isn't on discriminatory grounds so you're wrong.

Seeing it will never happen as I have a general level of respect at understanding a private property is just that & haven't developed the urge to start picking up litter to see if it has any value I can't see me coming back to say I agree with you.
  • Tesco don't care.

Just got my latest clubcard "statement" to be horrified to see I have only been given 1 green point in the last quarter for using my own bags when shopping

I shop there every fortnight, £30+ spends and always use my own bags, the staff on the tills just never give you points for using your own bags.

What are green club card points good for? And I do know they give you nothing for not using a bag.

Arrested for what? The link you provided makes it very clear that nothing illegal was taking place.
    .

    By the customer.

Tesco commited FRAUD by claiming it had sold items on the coupons and claiming money from the manufacturer.

Many small companies went BUST after receiving bills for thousands from Tesco - while seeing no increase in sales.

Tesco were too big to take on. Think about it - they refuse to pay Tesco - Tesco refuse to stock their items!

If that transaction was paid with a card, the CSD can ask to see the card.

But how could they tell if a receipt is the customers or not if they paid by cash?

I don't know about you, but I don't keep my own receipts in bins or discarded trollies.

Are you claiming Tesco have broken the law? Indeed are you saying every shop in the UK are wrong in banning people who shoplift without going to Court?

It could be a worse punishment.
