  • Hi, You could try offering your services as a personal trainer. Lots of ex military physical training instructors do this, should be no different to you doing the same. :)
    Mortgage: Aug 12 £114,984.74 - Jun 14 £94000.00 = Total Payments £20984.74

What about working for a local gym? Or for the local authority swimming baths? ( must admit PE is definitely not my area of expertise)

Neither the gym or the swimming baths are my area of expertise- probably much stronger candidates through HND route for Gym instructor positions and I do not have a lifeguard qualification. :(

Yeah I could, would feel more comfortable leading aerobics etc. My sports are hockey and rugby so I am very fit and able to keep up with pretty much anyone.

    4 small steps today....

    1. returned unworn wedding outfit... £142 of this was returned in cash. One item refunded to card.
    2. drafted a letter requesting my wages be paid into my old unused bank account. I checked whilst at the shops and the card/pin works perfectly well in the ATM
    3. had a "Cash hunt" in the car and in handbags/purses and found about £16
    4. checked all my work clothes and will not need anything for new school term. I would usually buy a few new items

    Also......

just checked and my mobile phone contract expires in 22 days (not including today). Very tempted to phone and cancel, however it is my lifeline for getting supply work. (although if the council place me in a school it wont be essential)
  • You should be able to get a better deal especially if you keep the phone. 3 lrt me change from 1 month before the contract ended. Have you checked what deals are available.

My worry is I literally have no money to pay it this month! If I was to cancel the contract and sell the phone I might be able to pay it off and get it off my debt list.

That is a fantastic start! Big or small they are still steps in the right direction and you should be proud of yourself!

With regards to your mobile phone contact your provider and inform them you will no longer wish to continue pay monthly once your contract has ended. If your handset is locked to a certain provider then check out what pay and go sim packages they have available. If your handset is not locked to a certain provider then shop around for the best pay and go rates available. With pay and go you can't be stung by a nasty bill as you can only spend what you top up by and in most cases you can keep your number :)

Be proud of your achievements today as you are doing brilliantly! :T

    Keep it up!
