    Also......

just checked and my mobile phone contract expires in 22 days (not including today). Very tempted to phone and cancel, however it is my lifeline for getting supply work. (although if the council place me in a school it wont be essential)

Have you tried Giffgaff - I pay £10 a month but there's no contract. As long as you own your phone then it should be cheaper - and works off the o2 I believe. Also look out for education based surveys etc. for fund raising - eduvoice and schoolszone - for example. I've just picked up £150 for reading through a proposed new scheme of work and giving my thoughts to some questions. I then had to turn down another £150 plus travel costs to go down to London and be part of a focus group to discuss the same material. Even if the work is not in your specialism you have a point of view from an education perspective that people will pay to hear.
    44 day challenge

    1. Pay £650 off overdraft (£ 288/ £650)
    2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)
    3. Use YNAB everyday (6/44)

Thanks, will give both those ideas a look. My phone is in really good condition and will easily last me a good while longer with a new SIM. Will have a llook at giffgaff and see who comes up cheapest for texts and internet... dont need too many minutes.

That is a fantastic start! Big or small they are still steps in the right direction and you should be proud of yourself!

With regards to your mobile phone contact your provider and inform them you will no longer wish to continue pay monthly once your contract has ended. If your handset is locked to a certain provider then check out what pay and go sim packages they have available. If your handset is not locked to a certain provider then shop around for the best pay and go rates available. With pay and go you can't be stung by a nasty bill as you can only spend what you top up by and in most cases you can keep your number :)

Be proud of your achievements today as you are doing brilliantly! :T

    Keep it up!

    Mam x

    Well

    Thank you SOMuch, SOMam

Credit Card- £3500 (Halifax) up to date

Store Card- £302 (Arcadia) up to date

Car Finance- £3720 (Alfera) up to date

    Overdraft- £499 (Smile Bank)

PayDayLoan 1 £200 approx (will be charges as this amount will "roll over") tried to clear this month and it has killed me!

PayDayLoan 2 £1000 approx (will not be paid at all this month, already rolled over)

    Next £290 up to date

Mobile Phone- up to date but will not be paid this month

OH for bills/rent £350- will not be paid this month :(

Just checked with a certain car buyer site and my little Fiat 500 is apparently worth £4500. I assume they settle the finance, their fee and hand over the rest?

My £10 a month covers my internet usage (iphone), 45o minutes of calls (which I never use so tend to use the mobile rather than the landline) and unlimited texts. I am considering dropping down to £7.50 package but worth a look.

I wouldn't be so quick as to tell the op to get in touch with debt charities and advisors. Looking at what she/he has said, the debt appears to be up to date and i would think has a good credit history?

The debt doesn't look a great deal to me, although i don't know what the op earns.

If i was them i would ask the parents for a lump sum to service the immediate debts that could go awry, like the payday loans, and go from there.

If you have a bad credit history my advice would be to dump all the debt, open a basic bank account or use what you have already, and ignore the creditors for 6 years until it goes statute barred and you can borrow again.

I imagine my credit rating is ok. I have never missed a payment in my life although PayDayLoans dont look great! However, I would have to find £27 for my mobile phone bill direct debit on the 27th August and an amount to satisfy PayDayLoan 2 by the 19th (if I remember correctly).

Then next months debt cycle will start all over again on what is probably my lowest paid month of the year (supply teacher)

On top of this, I owe my OH £350 towards rent/bills. I assume he is staying with his brother as he has not been here since yesterday morning. In terms of food, I could easily live out of the freezer and cupboards although would need fresh milk etc.
