That is the best recipe I've found for banana bread. It's so simple- only really two steps and the cake is lovely. Would check it after an hour though as mine has never needed 90mins to cook. I am naughty and often have it as part of my breakfast!
http://www.nigella.com/recipe/recipe_detail.aspx?rid=12572 These are also really nice. Maybe make both with 6 bananas.

Hi Alipops:hello:
I would tend to make banana bread or freeze the bananas . Baked bananas are nice (in oven with a marinade made of a little water, maple syrup, cinnamon - very sweet though). I recently attempted putting overripe bananas in HM pancakesIt made a terrible mess and I'm sure there is a perfect way to do them, but they tasted great!
There is also a thread with heaps of ideas - banana glut . Also - Bananas going a bit black (I'll add your thread to that one later, to keep the ideas together
)
thanks:)

PasturesNew wrote: »Here's a steamed fruit pudding I have used as a substitute Xmas pudding for a diabetic:
1 cup of soft breadcrumbs
1 cup of mashed ripe banana
1 cup of mixed druit
1 teaspoon of mixed spice
1 teaspoon of bicarb of soda
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
1 egg
Mix it all together in a bowl. Place the mix in a greased bowl in a steamer with a lid (saucepan with water/lid). Steam for two hours (making sure it doesn't run out of water). Serve
Ideal for diabetics as there's no sugar in it.
That sounds so scrummy I am going to make that for pud tonight. :drool:Put the kettle on.0 -
I'm sure my two kiddies would love anything banana based, but I only have two overripe bananas and was hoping someone on here would know something relatively quick and easy that I could do with them as opposed to binning them!
Thank you in advance
