You don't need to take the "phone line" with them, it's completely optional. I've just spoken to CS, since I registered interest a while ago and haven't heard from them since then.

But after a bit googling it seems that they will pull the same stunt like Virgin, making the BB without phone line £10 more expensive than the same product when you take the phone line for £12.50. So in the end you only save £2.50.

I see only 1 thread which talked about drilling holes etc, I would only join if it was like switching as normal

Since Hyperoptic is simply the name of a firm based in West London, it's hard to imagine there being any "news" about it posted here. It's not a new technologic advance and cheapest is not always the best option depending on your needs.

20mb is not fast when Virgin (for example) is offering up to 200mb!

Hyperoptic are an 'alt-net', so don't use Openreach's network. If you are on a copper product at the moment, then switching will involve arranging installation of the Hyperoptic service, and separately calling your existing provider to cancel.

Hyperoptic are a 'true' fibre provider, so you will more than likely consistently achieve the 20Mb download that is quoted, whereas other providers are 'up-to'.

Do you work for them or something? Your post reads like it was lifted directly from their promotional material!

Virgin Media don't use copper either, but their speeds are still advertised as "up to" because there are several other reasons why speeds may drop.

Not connected via the old copper which BT still use in many instances.
