£7.70 spent on travel, £2.50 taxi and all day anybus ticket. Saw health trainer, have put on another 2lbs (must stay away from the chocolate aisle - and stop mum suggesting chip shop dinners, I must eat 3 times as many calories on a Friday as on other days). I will definitely have to be in charge of food when we live together - her partner's newspaper keeps producing little booklets 'did you know such a thing has sugar in it?' Yes that's why there isn't any in my cupboards - you should have seen her face when i told her I had to read all the tiny writing on the packaging.

Two mini- food shops but coming out of September budget. Ten more things sold and 8 for the charity shop - tried to e-mail the label to myself so I could go to the library and print it off (our printer only scans) but no dice, so they are posting me a label. I have to take it to a collection point, but luckily little Arseda is one, so onto bus facing my house and off at stop facing store. garage is nearer but would be too far to walk with a heavy parcel. I had a pile of books but they only wanted 2 of them so had a mad scramble round to find more things to add to 2 books and 3 videos as they required a minimum of 10 items. Found another small pile and with some more rejected just made it to 10 - will decide what to do with rest later.

2 more de-clutter point as went back to old house to gather up newspaper and junk mail pile and binbag full of leaves to go in my recycling bins.

Small payment to a credit card (another £50). Must alter my signature, think I am on 12% paid off but don't want to jinx it - still waiting for one cc statement, don't want any nasty surprises. Paying the second half of the water bill is next, this cc payment is next month's payment, bill has been sent but not yet received (have figures on-line). I'm ahead is what I am saying.

Tired but happy (better when the painkillers start working). Today I am grateful for buses, for helpful bus drivers and patient car drivers - been going at snail's pace all day but everyone was solicitous and kind, no impatient honking.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

I think that August has been hard for me as it is the first time I have had a full month at home with dd - both of us off school - since joining these challenges.

The budget has been squiffed because dh also did shopping, and paid for things.

I've already suggested to him that I get him a notebook for him to note his cc spends (often buys stuff for the PA at church and then claims it back), as we use his cc quite a lot, to get points. (to pay for our annual visit to leg0land!). And it sometimes takes him a while to reconcile the amounts.

If he agrees with doing that, I might then suggest he notes ALL his little spends in it too!

September is a new start. New goals. New focus. New challenge. New enthusiasm. New tightly-pulled purse strings. New eating habits. New decluttering. Bring it on mothernerd!

For me September is like New Year, when the kids go back to school I feel motivated to get everything done that I have let slide over the summer.

I'm not sure what we are doing today but the sun is shining so it may be a walk at the local country park this afternoon with a drink in the cafe. School starts on Tuesday for us so Monday will be spent ironing new uniforms and writing names in it all, sorting out school bags, lunch boxes etc.

Both kids have camps in September, music lessons start again, all the clubs they do start, football season and DD is doing the 11+ in two weeks:eek: and we have to do some more secondary school visits ready for making our choices in October - a busy month for us.

    Hey gang

Hope you are well? Kat Glad to hear you are safe and sound.. I think your comment about feeling extraordinarily exhausted for no good reason is a bit of an understatement considering all youve done and the goals youve achieved over the last 2 years! Not long to go before you can step off this high speed treadmill and you can walk at a slower pace and enjoy the scenery :j

So, 2 spendy days declared.. Firstly, at Arseda, having shopped around for the cheapest cat food and litter for my step puddy tat :D and secondly, at a pre paid 'Arry Potter studio tour where the butter beer was not to be missed!

Ive been up since the crack this morning and worked on budgets. Glad to say the overdraft due to house improvements was cleared yesterday as it was payday and I should (if all goes to plan!) be able to put £300 towards the credit card at the end of the month.. Im a little wary of making the payment so soon in the month as I have often found that over ambitious payments always leads to being short of cash and going overdrawn later on :o.. This is a pattern I really want to avoid if I can help it!

Applemuncher and Fmess do the Aldee vouchers have a deadline to which they should be used? It might be worth losing another SFD on 2 newspapers ;)

Hope you all have a great day,

    Laters

Voucher is £5 off a £40 spend, valid till Thursday September 4th.

I only ever buy 1 paper as I don't usually plan to spend much over £40. But this time I shall use the car and ensure I spend enough - on NEEDED things, of course!
