Evening all...
Spend dayfriends were due to come tonight on their return journey from Belgium. Mrs friend is 6 months pregnant. Not seen them since Jelly was 13 days old, the day after their wedding. Spoken lots but we never manage to coincide when I am home, always someone busy. Anyways went out to Mr S, spent £6.64 on wrapping paper, 5 long sleeved boys patterned babygrows, 3 lovely bibs, & chocolate for them. It should have been £15 but half price, plus 25% off sale on the bibs and babygrows meant I saved a tonne! Still I spent 'spending money' on splurgey stuff and just over £10 was 'wasted'
it will be used, enjoyed etc. Biscuits, Jellytots special dairy free nursery snacks & favourite dinner, and yummy frozen pizzas for dinner. Still I should not have done that. Shooting my budget to shizznit.... and all for nought. Friends couldn't drop in
:(:(:(:(
Plus sides. MIL came, bringing bounty of a new marrow! So there's mince in the freezer of which only half a pack is necessary with some rice for the best dinner ever x2. Jellytot got to go out and stamp in puddles in her wellygogs. I got super easy pizza dinner. Jellytot asked for each of her meals today, told me when she was hungry and thirsty, told me what was 'sore' when she hurt herself, asked for her dummy at bedtime winding down time, then asked me for her bottle and got herself into bed where she promptly went immediately to sleep. She is excellent
Off to lick my budget wounds... Hugs all xx

Didn't manage a SFD yesterday as realised halfway through writing my conclusion that going without earrings for 2 weeks had meant my holes were in danger of closing up, so went to Claire's and bought some cheap ones - and got 3 for 2, so I'm sorted for while. SFD today, but also back to work!
And.... I have a full draft of my dissertation!!!!!!
SFD 13/12
Exercise 16/16
Food £85.06/ £150 (till 15th September)
Petrol £0/60Proud to be debt free September 2014. :j

Achieved a SFD yesterday as I stayed in my onesie all dayIt was brilliant! I wish I could do it for the rest of the holidays but I think I have to leave the house everyday from now on
Today is a spend day for my hair cut and colour, and a few bits of food as I'm having a friend over for dinner.

Morning all!
Yikes, can't believe how the days have flown by without a check-in! Very sorry, one has been kept busy by the bank holiday shenanigans. The heavy rain didn't stop me yesterday either! I had the same idea as jellytot and went out stamping in the puddles in my wellies- much fun!
Lilt- Your gift ideas are lovely! I absolutely loved my first dolls pram! My dolly was called Milly Molly Mandy (from the storybooks), I still have her to this day! I also had a little bicycle with a dolls seat on the back which she used to travel in, when I used to visit the little corner shop with my Mum. Keep positive, lovely xx
Mothernerd- I love the idea of portable rainbows! Did you mention an appreciation of the writing talents of Stephen Moffatt? I'm definitely a fan of his 'Coupling' days and many of his Dr Who & Sherlock episodes. His writing style has certainly changed over the years!
Speakingofart- Congrats on the dissertation draft!! I know what a headache they are!
Anyone noticed our missing Ninja leader?? We appear to have misplaced a certain Katherine of the Saving variety? NSK Where are youuuuu?:coffee:

Hey gang
Have been pants at checking in over the last week! Hope you are all well.. Have kept up with all your posts though, hugs and well wishes to all those in need at this time xx..
Its been a rather spendy few days but not major major ones! Have managed to keep the food spends low but my fun spends have been higher than usual due to a few coffee shop trips and outings (sorry NSK). August is probably my most spendiest month of the year as I tend to hang out with my ex who is a teacher and currently on summer holidays. I havent been on a proper holiday for about 7 years now
but I do enjoy our days out here and there, following our Abbey ruin trails
Its pay day tomorrow thank goodness and I have already checked to see how much pay to expect! :T I will be able to clear the overdraft that has built up due to the home renovation spends and will put whats left over towards my credit card. I am officially declaring war on my 0% credit card debt after somehow convincing myself that this wasnt a debt as such and that the card was a means of obtaining things and allowing me to repay small manageable amounts interest free while putting more money into savings.
I am very much looking forward to the September challenge so I can put these last few months behind and regain control of my finances again :j.
Right Im off to look at budgets! Have a good day one and all

I am here I am here!!!
Well hello everybody - am I lame or am I lame! I am having a slight panic about the things I have and have not done prior to leaving, the fact I don't have a rucksack yet, need a few more injections, am searching for the most epic hoody ever - specification upon request should you be interested - and had a bit of a flat over the last week as well as feeling extraordinarily exhausted for no good reason.
Well I spent the weekend feeling a little worn down and sickly and ended up sleeping a lot! Saw friends on Saturday (SFD) and was duly fed as they are so lovely but went home to a movie and a long old lie in on Sunday - thankfully no working for me. Then on to see Lucy at the cinema - bit weird but worth a watch I think.
Monday was spent getting some "essentials" for my travels in the town near me while being soaked for my troubles - namely capri-leggings for under things and for easy wear and longer wide leg leggings for the travel part of my traveling - making for comfortable airplane wear - shame they are going back as they are too short.....only by an inch I would say but it makes me cringe if my trousers legs are too short. Then onto the cinema to watch Expendables 3 - complete waste of time so don't waste your money.
My food budget has been blown for the sheer need to having to use the bus and not budgeting for the rain. Had to withdraw £20 from the travel fund ..... this morning in order to buy further bus tickets this week. it shall be returned on Friday which is payday for me.
Booked a flight last week to cover my Japan to Australia leg. :T:T:T... was charged twice and then some.:(:(:(.. Been having a battle with the stupid airline for the last few days who were going to refund me all but £116 of the money - I went mental and they are now "looking into it"....:mad::mad: (I was charged £618.18 instead of £276.44.)... Muppets!
So apart from that I have precisely 14 working days until I finish work... such fun!
I am thoroughly looking forward to what Mothernerd has up her sleeve for September which will mark two years for me on MSE... Whoop!
Onwards!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Apologies haven't been here for days, been not feeling great dodgy tummy, lasted about a week now, plus had a few days off work typical ill and off on holiday from work. Think I have IBS as had this a few times before, eating little and often, lots of prebiotic yogurt, hardly any tea and coffee and feel like snapping peoples heads off. Good news its working, tummy settled today and oh back in work
Everyone seems to being having a tough time hugs to all that need one.
Dolly84 also hit Sainsburys for 25% off clothes, going to budget for this in future as got so much nice stuff, and used my nectar points towards it so came in under 50 pounds for heaps of clothes.
Will be focused by September:rotfl:Need petrol will hold out till tomorrow will have to come out of Septembers budget - ok its bit early
Will update my figures, haven't spent much on food, mainly clothes and shoes for work.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
It looks like quite a few of us have struggled through August, I knew it would be hard for us due to two holidays and the kids being at home full time.
Today is payday so I have allocated all the money to the different pots and envelopes. I will update my signature with the new debt total and grocery budget. September is a 5 week grocery month for us but I am still hoping to come under budget. Out of this months money I have set aside £160 for jobs which need doing on the house and garden before winter sets in.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
