  • Spendy day yesterday as I went with some friends for a quick drink, but only 1.50 so well worth it I think! Literature review is finished and submitted for review, only the analysis and conclusion to go, so I will be spending today finishing transcribing my interviews, analysing my data etc so that I can write about it tomorrow and monday. Nearly, nearly, there! Hope everyone else is enjoying the bank holiday weekend!

Mothernerd: I'm holding out Doctor Who as my reward for finishing today's work! :)

Fmess sometimes when you're looking at the mountain from partway up your climb, it looks just as big as it did when you started. You need someone down there standing watching to tell you how far you've gone ;) Congrats. A third is fantabulous.

Dolly & Applemuncher thank you both for your hugs and good wishes. I am over the shock and striving to focus on positives. Mum is doing the same which makes it a lot easier. Hope your holidays were lovely! They both sound frugal and MSE so well done! And CS spends... :D:D that is incredible!

Doctor Who... Not a fan. I don't really watch much TV... The sports and silly things like Big Bang Theory etc is about it!

Yesterdays baby snuggles were delicious! She was tiny and beautiful and a delight to hold and has made me SO BROODY!! Lol! I overspent a tad on the milk and bread... I got 4 bottles of soya which will hold out til after the 1st week in Sept £3.40. Bread £1, Cows milk £1, Margerine £2 on offer for 1kg of my favourite and 3 boxes of totally unnecessary cereal for £5. Jellytots ready brek x2 and some banana weetabix for her to try The saving was huge but still I might shove it to September as it won't be started til then... or maybe even October . She loves breakfast, my child. A banana, plus cereal, every morning!

Scores on the doors in my sig when I update it! 14 SFD, 15 today I hope. A tad overbudget on groceries with nothing big to buy. My free marrow was despatched to dinnerland last night and enough leftovers to feed me marrow today and chilli for a couple of meals too! Exercise has gone up by a couple of 30 min sessions but I am suffering today!

Right, best get up! Blummin cold today! See you later all. xx

Morning all. The sun is shining here today so a tiny part of my mountain of washing is out on the line, fingers crossed i get a good drying day.

Lilt - my DS's favourite meal is breakfast, he eats loads but is a fussy eater for every other meal, he lives by the saying 'breakfast like a King, lunch like a Prince and dinner like a pauper' it's supposed to help you stay slim.

MagicCat - to your electrician problems, hope you get it sorted soon. I agree with the others, I smell a rat there.

DH is already planning to spend money today, he needs to sort out 3 scratches on our car, something fell off a skip wagon onto the top of the car and made 3 scratches right down to the metal, the blooming thing is less than 6 months old. He is getting it from Halfords and Aldi is next door so I may pop in for some dried fruit and nuts as the prices are good there.

But Lilt, Sheldon watches Doctor Who.

Was going to be a NSD but DS2 has been for a bath again so I may have to buy chocolate.

    Hi all...

Well just finishing watching Doctor Who - and actually really like him! Am not sure about the wibbly wobbly sounding theme tune although the visuals are uhmmm different - maybe they'll grow on me.

Another gym day to add though the old SFDs aren't being very forthcoming! Will try for one tomorrow. Have a good evening all.

I read on BBC that the starting visuals were done by a graphic designer, who did them for fun and posted it on YouTube, but the producers saw it and invited him to do it for real. I thought that was a good story.

Today was a SFD :) No exercise except dog walking. Going to a car boot tomorrow so hoping to at least break even and then anything I make is a bonus. I never know how they'll go.

Drive by to say exercise done in house. I puffed and panted my way through scrubbing every inch of my kitchen until it gleamed, which included moving EVERYTHING to a new position! I hoovered the ceiling of cobwebs everywhere in the house, stripped down bedding (even washed jellytots DUVET!), and sofa cushions, handwashed some, washing machined some, and dried on the airers, then ironed and back on! I plumped up the enormous sofa, and hoovered out all the inside of it, coming up with a free knife, some hair bobbles and some nappy bags (as you do)... no cash!

SFD as I could barely move after that. I am not one of these people who does things by half; I then suffer in precisely the same manner for 24-72 hours after! And it is my own fault and my kitchen keeps making me beam so I don't care! :D

    Good luck tomorrow Fmess!

Spent money but it is coming off next month's budget. had to go into town and tried to bring back a small rucksack full mainly of basics, kidney beans and sardines, low fat cheese spread (1 per week), large tub of creme fraiche ys'd to 41pence and chocolate.

Absolutely magnificent Doctor Who, so many links to other episodes, Sherlock references and I know it will really upset two young boys whose podcast I watched the other night - they were pleased that the new doctor was 'not young and fit'. Some of us are old enough to think he's both (and DS3 who's male 23 and predominantly straight agrees with me.

Today I am thankful for Doctor Who, Steven Moffat (big fans of 'Coupling' in this house as well - DS3 told the man in person) and chocolate - yes it's bad (very bad) for me but sometimes you just need it.

DS2 has got the local job - that was the only positive thing he said and I won't bore you with the rest of it (it's a good job my blood pressure is fine).
