Hugs and best wishes go out to everyone having a difficult time right now...

All pretty much ticking over here - work... eat... sleep and occassional gym. SFD total stuck on 6 and having odd spends I don't really need here and there. Need to buckle up and be a little more self controlled. Pay day a week today... cupboards well stocked - if only I could find the motivation to cook and be organised.

    Night all ;)

Armfuls of hugs for those going through difficult times, especially Lilt belated birthday wishes to MagicCat, Siouxsie and Karmachilovething and job congratulations to LoveaDove.

Sorry for late check in but such a busy day, lots of progress. NSD. On the one step forward....the boiler at the little house had a hissy fit, DS2 has no hot water.

Today (yesterday?) I am/was grateful for helpful son DS1, unhelpful son who was too busy working DS3 and son who probably has a new job (thinks the day's work trial was more about them trying to persuade him to work for them than him being tried out) even if he is a stroppy little so-and-so at times (DS2).

    Morning all

Massive hugs lilt to you and your family.

Sorry to hear about the electrics magiccat but definitely get a second and third opinion.

Congratulations loveadove on the job :)

Yesterday was a planned spend day but I made £85 selling items today :) I am going to put this aside and use it to plug the gap between the September pay packet and the September expenses :)

Today should be a SFD as need to go into work and then visit my gran who has just had a fall, broken her wrist and has had to go into a nursing home until she can care for herself again :(

No exercise today or yesterday, except dog walking.

    Hugs to all

    Hello everyone,

Thank you all so much for your kind comments, advice and birthday wishes - lilt, Fmess, Mothernerd, Calling14, Crazy_Lady, CaerauGirl, Tiptoes, LoveaDove - you are all stars!:A

I am not panicking quite so much now and thinking more clearly - you are all right, I need to get other opinions. We have arranged a face to face meeting with the main contractor and electirician next Tuesday (first day they could do), I have said I want a clear account in writing of the work that needs to be done and why and I will arrange other electricians to reveiw. At least having a plan makes me feel better! Crazy_Lady - thank you so much, your optimism really helped me - anI hope you are right, it is a set back but if we have to borrow the money, we've paid it down once and can do it again.

Loveadove - Hooray! Many congratulations on the job! It sounds like you have possible options for other jobs too, but well done for getting something so quickly!:j

Lilt - thinking of you, hope things are OK.

Mothernerd - hope you are having a good day pain-wise, you did make me laugh with your comments about your DSs!

Fmess - sorry to hear about your nan, hope she is ok. Well done on the sales though!

Have a good Thursday everyone, keep on keeping on.

Fmess so so sorry to hear about your gran. Sending her lots of get well wishes and really hope she makes the most of her 'holiday'!! Also, £85!! Incredible :D

Loveadove I actually jumped up and down on the bed and squealed at your news!! I am so so pleased for you! And for the myriad opportunities presenting themselves! Karma is a great thing! You definitely had some good saved up!

Everyone for all of your support for me and my mum thank you so much. Yes, it is, and will be hard going forward being this far away. At the same time, I am grateful for so many things. My mum has a fighting spirit quite like Kat's and she is looking on the best side of this, which is new puppies and a tummy tuck to make them rather than the implants she had 15 years ago the second time around which have both leaked  - I am feeling MUCH MUCH better about it all as all in all it is a positive diagnosis, and I know my mum is the strongest woman ever. She's done it 3 times before. She knows the plan.

SFD yesterday making 13, today hopefully makes 14! Tomorrow I unfortunately have to get a train to my friends £8.60 (for 16 miles....!), but it is budgeted and should be my 'only' cost! And I get baby snuggles for it. And coffee :D - need to grab a loaf of bread and some soya milk whilst out. That should tide us over until Tuesday at least when we might need more bread!

On the plus side, my savings this month if I manage to stick to the £57 in my bank account before the 1st Sept... £889.49 + yet to be confirmed £115 back from nursery :D:D:D:D:D I could actually be adding over £1k to the savings this extraordinary month but I have to move £28.25 of my remaining money forward as I forgot to make the extra payment to the CC for YNAB! Tight but nothing needed!

TTYL all when I check in to say I have not spent today. I won't!

    Evening all

Today was nearly a SFD but went to visit my gran and she had an upset stomach so I went to buy her some tablets. Definitely worth losing a SFD for.

No exercise today except dog walking.

Might be doing a car boot on Sunday, so I need to get some stuff together tomorrow, although I'm not sure how much I have. I'm sharing a stall so hopefully I can raise a few £.

    Nothing much else to report.

    Hooray!! Holiday spend-free day!!
    :j

Which is shocking as we went through the town shopping today. Feeling quite proud.
    :D

Congratulations on the new job loveadove, even if it is just a stop gap until you get what you really want. At least it is a job to keep you going.
    :)

Wow... fmess, if you have any tips for selling please let me know!! £85 is amazing.

Thank you for the congratulations on the sales. It was actually because I sold my own phone and a garden table we don't use. I'm on the hunt for items for a car boot now. Hoping to get rid of a lot of clutter and clear my mind at the same time.

I am 100% sure that every single person on here does not think you should lose a SFD for buying your gran tablets for her poorly tum in her time of need! Hope it wasn't the 'holiday' food!

    Give yourself a SFD. :j
