  • Magiccat.. It's an MA in Educational Leadership, my dissertation is looking at the impact of a literacy initiative in a school. Unfortunately, since I started it, I moved careers from teaching to HR and am now doing my CIPD qualification, so motivation has been very low. Hoping it'll pick up in the next couple of weeks as my deadline's September 1st!!

On the bright side though, September is going to be an awesome month: done with my debt and done with my MA.

    Hi all,

Not completely sure why I have been awol in posting the last couple of days...I have been reading!

Kat your tales of frilly knickers genuinely made me lol when I was feeling down in the dumps- your unfortunate pants on head story really cheered me up! (Thank you!) Also Tiptoes- Your summarised Cake venture also made me chuckle! (Another Thank you! Despite the post loss predicament- we've all been there :) )

crazy_lady2009 - Wooohooooo to Credit Card Clearance!!! Congrats!

and speakingofart- I bet you can't wait for the double celebration next month! End of dissertation and Debt Freedom! Super exciting times!

Lilt- Sounds like complicated times! It is so very hard to make such a big decision when you are living within the predicament. *Hugs*

Siouxsie- What a superb money making week you have had! Great stuff!

Careaugirl- Let us know how the festival went? Were you at V?

Pheonix- Glad you are in repair! You poor bean!

mothernerd- I'm sure the skirting is fine, especially as it is new (xmas last year). It is funny how the more you look at things the more you see.

So I have managed another 2 SFD's over the last 3 days- hooray! My exercise total is still terrible! Really not sure why I can not motivate myself lately! I have an interview on Tuesday for one of the jobs I applied for (yay!), and should be having another interview arranged next week- the one where I have been waiting on the M.D from the company to return from their holiday. I haven't heard from any others yet, although there is a job I would absolutely love to have, but their closing date was today, so not sure how long I'll be waiting to hear back as to whether I have been short listed for interview or not. Cripes! Literally feel like my career could go in any direction at the moment...it's all in the hands of the shortlisters and interviewers!

Right, going to dash. Currently squinting at my laptop in the dark and think it's best that I actually got up, stretched my legs and turned the light on!

I hope you are all having enjoyable weekends! See y'all tomorrow! x

    Evening everyone.

Today I am not being a moany pants. I have some huge !!! mental shoulder pads on, 80's style, and they are holding up some of the weight. So I am feeling pretty epic!

I have had the most brilliant day with my small bundle of sunshine and hugs. I will never get over just how I (ME!) managed to grow that incredible tiny person inside me. I will never quite forget having to push her out though :rotfl: - as friend of Him pointed out in conversation, childbirth is overrated. Kat take it from me, that should you ever decide to have children, you will carry extra bra's in your handbag for those moments because there is no way on earth you would catch me braless at work! :D:D:D

Today I made awesome dairy free krispie cakes. Butter was subbed out for soya butter and coconut oil (note that I did not even use the coconut cream that blimming woman lumped me with?!) and to help with the darkness of the dairy free chocolate, golden syrup was added in. Jellytot enjoyed very much standing on the kitchen counter melting and mixing away. Elf n safety eat your heart out. Resulted in some fabby fab cakes which I can give to her doubt free, knowing precisely what went in. She very much loved her cake, not to mention the wooden spoon to lick and the trick of how to dip your finger into melted chocolate ;)

For those interested parties: pics here, here, and here.

Loveadove woot for so many job interviews and directions! You're a wonder, and obviously highly skilled!

Totals - just another SFD added. One to go and I have hit target which is fab! Wonder how many we can squeak to...! Tomorrow should also be a SFD, Tuesday most definitely not but I plan on getting lots out of the way!!

Off to see if I can get a cheapo train ticket for Friday - baby hugs finally. Night all!! xx

  • Hi everybody!

Lilt, what a cutie!! Jellys hair is very like my DDs (although sadly it has dropped out a bit as she has grown :( now more of a very defined wave..easier to brush though!). Cakes sound and look scrummy too. But whats the trick about dipping your finger into chocolate?

Loveadove, thanks for the great roundup of everyones news...I second all your thanks/good wishes etc. I hope your interview tomorrow (and the next, and the next) go well. Exciting to be on the brink of new changes.

I went into work today in preparation for returning part time on weds, keeping my hours low for the first few weeks but wanted to see people and check how my team were. I did (very discreetly) do my expenses form (it was the last few days I could submit it as there is now a time limit, and at £60 I kinda need the money back please!).

DD is out with a friend, I am settled into home again. I see no reason for us to spend today, here is hoping we are onto a NSD. Dinner is defrosting (a friends hm burgers and mash!).

Mothernerd, I'm sure its not too bad, people don't look so closely I think, and maybe the sun won't be so strong when buyers are looking around?

    Erm... confession time.

I was naughty yesterday and had a bit of a dilemma deciding whether to admit to a huge spend. But I have since redeemed myself so have decided to tell you.

OH and I went to a castle yesterday and it was expensive (£21 for us both)... the woman there then spoke about getting National Trust for Scotland membership. It works out at £67.15 for the year and if we were to go to 3 castles then we would be in profit.
So we decided to go for it. We got our money back and signed up for the year. We are quite pleased as the English National Trust will let us in for free (they ask us to give a donation), as will a heap of others like Italy and Australia, etc.
So, that was my bad spend...

... However, I went into my bank today and withdrew £100, handed it to my dad and told him to pay it off the credit card.
Due to my saving, instead of only paying £200 to my credit card this month, I have managed to pay £500!!!!!
    :j

I am hoping this is a redeeming thing so NSK will forgive me for spending a lot of money.
    :(

On the plus side... OH and I are now planning a lot more "fun times" together to go exploring as we no longer need to worry about the cost of entry.
    :D

In other good news!!!!!! I went into n3w l00k today and didn't buy anything!!!!!!! I picked up a pair of pyjamas then put them back as I don't need them.
See.... I am learning, slowly but surely!!
    :j

edit: oh my goodness... jellytot is such a cutie!!!! Also, those chocolate crispies look delicious.
    :)

    NSD. Quiet day.

Today I am grateful for the man who held the door for me at the library last week, bin men (they get abused too often for things that aren't their fault) and books (second trawl through he arthritis books, taking notes).

    Hi all,

Apologies for my absence - had a crazy, mad, stressful week and been away a bit too... I have updated my SDF totals and expenditure... now to catch up on posts properly. I hope everyone is well and having a good month so far...

On the plus - though my week has been mad busy - have gathered a few extra hours of overtime which will come in handy I'm sure...

    Have a great night!

    Ah jellytot is adorable!

Got another SFD :) and did an exercise class :)

Not much else to report, although totted up all the things I need to spend money on in September and it is a fortune :( Need to find a way to increase my income/reduce the spends. On the plus side, at the end of September I qualify for a payrise and get the first payment for my promotion 😃
