    Afternoon peeps.

I have spent my morning shopping in the pouring rain, catching up on UFC from the weekend then this afternoon made 4 batches of biscuits! Jellytots last day at nursery so the nursery nurses are getting biscuits and a thank you card. Meanwhile I should hopefully get my £115 deposit back :D

Shopping - Went to Post Office to drop a parcel in which was freepost tracked. Then on to the bank to pay change back in :) £29! And then to the pharmacy where I picked up a prescription (free with my NHS card, thank goodness or my meds bill would be £75 a month ) and three YS'd packets of carrot corn snack baby crisps which Jellytot loves. Reduced to 10p each :)

Then went and ordered another prescription to add to the mix from the doctors. And then went to Mr A's as the baby event is on. Saved myself £6 on usual prices for nappies and wipes so happy there. Neither were actually necessary until Sept, but I had budgeted for them, and due to YNAB I actually have half of Septembers budgeted money in the account already. So just used some of that. I did buy a couple of bits to make the biscuits, but it cost pence. Got milk, couple of packs of pasta in sauce whilst on offer. Blown more of the budget out.

Ah well, September is another month. Hopefully not one where I have to somehow stretch a tiny grocery budget and meals for 2 people into meals for 2 plus pig. Him is bringing a friend tomorrow who doesn't want to go home until late evening, which for the third time this month means my meal plan is shot and I have to magically expand the food. A friend suggested using a needle and syringe with water to make chicken portions bigger... :rotfl: personally I think I will be asking him to leave. He is Mr bigshot now, so why can he not chip in for a couple of quid towards my food expenses or the money for his takeaway!

Anyways, totals still stand apart from £2 added to the groceries. :( and looking on the bright side, next week I am mystery shopping a local bank for compliance purposes :D and £50 cash!

TTYL all - off to try and be diplomatic when asking for friend to either leave before dinner tomorrow or bring his own. :D

NSD. All yesterdays cooking boxed and frozen. Washing done and out on the line. Had a bath and washed my hair. Increased my de-clutter total, another 39 items for musicmagp*e, 25 plus broken/ old/ missing bits items to the bin (only a small carrier bag but lots of junk gone), some bigger items which went in before the bin was emptied and a small pile for the charity shop.

Money to be spent tomorrow. I have a health trainer appointment (should have been last for a while, last time but I had put on a few pounds) and think I am going to get a taxi to the hospital. Second bus might be within the anybus time limit (after 9.30am) but would need to pay separately for the bus into town (£6 total). Taxi straight to hospital can be cheaper than the 2 bus hop and less stressful (want to take a full rucksack of library books to return and cs items + water and a snack/ sandwich). Can't guarantee I will be able to do multiple journeys back and forth so may not get value from anybus ticket, but can decide after the appointment.

Was going to do multi-trips and try to do 'big shop' for next month but doing a lot of re-thinking. May move sooner rather than later.

Today I am grateful for hot water, painkillers and bacon (had a poor night's sleep so at 6am - tired, cold, stiff, hungry and in pain - I had bacon, baked beans (used the last 2 tins of tomatoes in yesterday's chilli) and mushrooms, took painkillers and had another little sleep). Have had a lovely day since then.

Went AWOL, I apologise but just couldn't get internet at all!!!!!!!! Was even struggling to get Facebook which is a scary thought.

Have had 3 spend free days which brings me up to 10/12!!
    :D

I have spent very minimal amounts but it is all saved for and in my holiday budget... Yesterday was £3 in the two pence arcade with my mummy. Provided hours of entertainment for us.
    :j

I think next month, I will lump the whole food budget together even though OH only pays it weekly as it is getting a bit confusing trying to add money on and stuff.
    :undecided

Have spent on the credit card (£100) but it was because we needed a deposit for the holiday accommodation. It was unplanned as we were all supposed to be staying with OH's parents.
Turned out to be a blessing in disguise as our doggie isn't settling in their van with their doggie (not their doggies fault, our doggie has nerves). Also, she wasn't allowed on furniture which she is at home (we have special sheets and blankets with us) so our doggie wouldn't have coped at all.
    :(

OH had offered to pay half the accommodation but as (most often is the case) he hasn't. He also borrowed £20 but that was holiday money so I am not so worried about that.
September is the time to focus on clearing that card!! It won't be cleared in September but I am going to try and make a dent. No holidays, no planned escapes and no long journeys planned for September so it's the ideal time to make an impact.

Hope everyone is doing okay. Big hugs.

I gave blood yesterday! I am so pleased I did it! (even though it then meant I missed an exercise afterwards - I didn't think about that and should have planned it better so I did one before I gave blood - silly me!)

SFD yesterday and should be one today as I am working at home. Should also get a nice long bike in today. But, I'd better go and do some work!

PS I think Kat is trying to wean us off her gently, so we don't go cold turkey in September! thanks Kat!

    Hello everyone,

Hope you are all OK - half way through the week so not too long til the weekend!

Sorry to miss yesterday - had a meeting with the contractor and electrician, and then had to make up time in work so quite a busy day. Upshot of meeting is that things are not as bad as we had feared - to get installations certificate for building regs, we need to replace the consumer unit (which is still 900ish!) but NOT rewire as we had been told - face to face, they admitted that although they would 'recommend' rewiring as it was last done in about 2000, it wasn't necessary for safety or building regs. Very relieved, although still not good news as will be an increase on the debt. Also, things that need finishing (parts of flooring, tiling redone, electric points etc) will be finished over the next 3 weeks. Less excited about this, as they have said this before, but we will see!

I agree, August has felt like a real struggle, and I don't even have children to entertain/pay for over the holiday! Went to GP yesterday and now have prescription to pay for, just everything getting on top of me I think. Have sold 8.07 worth of books on ziffit, and paid in 20 of change we have collected over the past few months so some positives.

Tiptoes - V impressed buy your spend while away for a wedding - and fab news on giving blood!:j i got my letter yesterday telling me what blood group i am, which I found v interesting.

SpeakingofArt - fab news first draft is done:T - hardest part is over now, at least you have something written!

NSK - glad you're OK, soooooo annoying about flight though! it sounds like you're doing well with your planning, not long to go now!

    Calling14 - hope you're feeling better, hugs.

Lilt - sounds like you have been getting some excellent bargains! Sounds a difficult situation with HIM bringing home guests, it seems a bit pout of order to expect you to feed them!

    Roll on September...

  • SFD again today. I got around friend accidentally. Last nights dinner was 2 chicken breasts defrosted to turn into a curry. By teatime they were still blocks of ice. So they went in the fridge for tonights dinner, and there isn't enough to feed friend too. It was all a bit much this morning, getting up, getting Jellytot ready, them arriving at the crack of dawn and me wandering out to work. I didn't sleep very well at all & I am exhausted.

I am sat here watching my colleagues rushing out to the sandwich van. I am so glad I don't partake. The sandwiches are £4 odd each and not that big, and the crisps are £1 a pack. Don't even get me started on the choccie bars. I stocked up with plenty of homemade biscuits ready to undo the slight weight loss I managed in the last few weeks :D Then when I got here I found a choccie bar in my drawer for later.

Work a lot manic... But I am taking time out on lunch.

MagicCat, I don't usually mind friends coming, but this is 3 times in 3 weeks on a budget. When it is the other way around, Him does not get fed at friends; he has to buy his own food to take there if he wants to eat in 48 hour. Friend occasionally puts a pizza on... it isn't good.

I reached my exercise target this morning. It has paid dividends. I have lost a bit of weight between the meal planning and the exercise. Thanks as always to Kat for a thoughtful and helpful challenge!!

    Hugs to anyone needing them!!

    Hello you lovely lot!

I am currently enjoying the warmth of the sun but with a stinking cold/ hay fever...not sure which one as I have only had hay fever once before, many moons ago! The continually changing weather may have something to do with it!

I have just hit my 12/12 SFD target- wooohooo! But have failed miserably this month on exercise target so far! I went for a 3 mile speedy walk with friend's yesterday and hopefully will make up the same again today. I think losing my job left me feeling a little down over the last few weeks and I just couldn't bring myself to get moving, even though I knew it would be a great pick-me-up. Living between houses also meant I couldn't keep up my twice weekly jog with my friend's (they definitely keep me motivated!). But we are weaning ourselves back into our old routine now that I am back, starting with speedy walks!

Great to hear from you NSK- hope you get your double flight charge back soon! What a palarver! But exciting hearing your travel plan progress! Not long now!!

    Evening all

Got a SFD and a gym exercise session in today :)

Not much happening here, just keep staring at my debt total and willing it to go down. I need to get back to some tutoring.

Hope you're all well, sorry I haven't got much to say, I must try to post during the day when I'm less sleepy.
