    Debt-free and Proud!
    Evening All,
My washing was almost dry, when I heard the rain starting from up in the attic, after clambering down the ladder and stairs to run outside, I had damp washing draped round the house and I was very wet! :(
Had to console myself with a bun but couldn't decide, had a bit of a baking fest last night, flapjacks, breakfast bars, millionaire's shortbread and oversized bakewell tarts, should keep them snacked up for, oh, at least 3 or 4 days :D

Arrgh, Skinty and DD1 have just run outside in the rain to bring the washing in.....95% salvaged before the rain became torrential.....thanks to the gazebo. We hoiked up the maidens and then the whirligig out of the ground and ran with it like a jousting lance under the gazebo.... then unpegged it into a washing basket before running inside to finish off in TD

house is all locked down and secure, and we now have thunder and lightning .....if the gazebo goes up in smoke it's too bad, I am not risking my bad luck trying to take it down now.

Right, I think I need to start recording the stuff I have actually done today...everywhere looks like a bull hyped up on caffeine and e numbers has mistaken my house for a china shop.

Found DD2's washing up from her Uni house at the bottom of one of her clothes bags.......Haz Mat suit, dust mask and goggles would have been good.......it has been through the DW twice on superhot longwash and I am waiting for it to ping!

4 more loads of DD2 clothes washing has gone through on 3 hour long washes.

De-gibbling to be chuffed about :

The man drawer in the kitchen has now had a serious declutter and re-organize (7 day pill organizer is now holding stray loose screws, curtain hooks, plastic screw covers, thumb tacks, stray loom bands etc)

my see through pencil case bargain from Mr T now in active service with things like rarely used loyalty cards, business cards I may need, oods and soods sewing supplies, aswell as pens, pencils etc, then all stacked horizontally in a basket so I can flip through like a mini filing cabinet.

Also have some mini chests from 99pee store for larger bobs like tape measure and small screwdrivers

The man drawer has been cleaned and all put back and it makes me smile now

Underneath is my box of hot water bottles and plastic compost and bin liners......DD3 has been engaged in the task of making loom bands to thread through the stopper and the label of water bottle cover (colour co-ordinated to match the cover)......I found some stray water bottles under the stairs so I had to re home the plastic liners

I have re-purposed an old Ike@ plastic lampshade to hold the smaller compost liners, black bin bags and scented liners. the longer liners and unused rubble sacks are in their own box.

I have dispensed with my old plastic carrier box and had a good sort through, lobbing out any that look iffy, folded the remainder "Samosa" style and put in a l0ck and l0ck lidded box with a flip up lid to retrieve a handful of carriers at a moments notice.

I have pre-lined 7 cereal dispenser-type containers from 99pee shop with their own compost bags and stacked inside each other with lids in a separate box...at the end of each night, I can just take the container outside to the recycling cupboard, then once a week I can slam all 7 through the DW on their own cycle, then pre-line again for the week ahead.

The tea-towel basket was relatively neat with my Anthea style folded tea towels, but I have now inserted extra baskets to stop the towels stacks from drifting or being knocked over, I know have room for bags of potpourri, and stick on air fresheners to be stored.

Secure destruction all bagged up ready for burning, and it's box all cleaned and wiped down.

I have made a baking box with a l0ck and l0ck box, so when DD1 decides to do midnight baking all yeast, open bags of flour, open icing sugars etc

I have sorted out the downstairs medicine cupboard and I am using a 99pee mini chest of drawers to house the every day coughs and colds stuffs so at a glance I know exactly how many pills have been used. All the sticky cough syrups, C@lpol etc are now in a basket to stop my Venn diagrams in the medicine cupboard too......[STRIKE]just about to go and clean out the cupboard[/STRIKE]and go sort the tea and coffee cupboards

I have just sorted half empty Nesqu!ck milkshake caddies and decanted into smaller tubs and chucked in a bigger box.......and re-purposed the bright yellow caddies to go next to the baking box....each Nesquick caddy holds 6 food colouring or flavouring bottles and the lid still shuts.

I had two half used but out of date vitamin drop bottles at the back of the medicine cupboard that I was going to throw away, but I have rescued them, washed them out and re-purposed them as emergency stain treaters with my 50/50 water and st@inz r out solution....as they are smaller than a lipstick they can fit in DD1 handbag so any drink spillages can be treated and blotted before coming home and slinging in the wash....not sure if I am going to have the other bottle or give it to DD2.

I have made a start on hiding things in plain sight for the bathroom, DD1 and I have started making mini nappy sack "Samosas" in different colours which are going to be arranged in a colourful pattern and scattered with generous sized flowers from pot pourri bags, so any of DD4 nappies or AF sundries can easily be dealt with.........but I am leaving that to DD1 to keep folding while gaming and I am going to get on with tea cupboard next and then ketchup cupboards I think.......back for another edit in a bit...

back now with a brew an update then a few hours shut eye hopefully.....DD1 has now just gone to bed, moral support greatly appreciated.

Righty-ho, re-jigged shelves in toaster cupboard, all egg cups in one container to lift out as one, all cleaned and lovely. Thinned out the cooking utensils drawer (cutting knives have been having a holiday in there instead of in the knife drawer) all cleaned out and I can see what I have got now. Cleaned and re-organized tin foil and sandwich bags drawer...beaten up cake cases transferred to DS craft box for pattern and picture making.....very happy with that one.

6 other cupboards cleaned, re-jigged and plastic containers inserted including the wire basket fruit and veg drawers.....the tea and coffee cupboard really needed doing......found excellent use for 99pee mini chest of drawers, all the flavoured teas and coffee sachet are now in their own drawers with the torn off slip from the box to work out which is which, I also have used another mini chest for storing stock cubes in (bearing in mind i have to have veggie and vegan stock cubes as well as beef, chicken etc) sauce cupboard is looking much improved even though I didn't really think it was too badly organized. Another baking box made up and put away.

    Things outstanding at this point:

Easy Fridge storage (I want a burger box, cheese slices, pickles, sauces)

Some better storage in bottom corner cupboard - recycling some toot from utility at the same time (think about turning plate rack on its side and loading up with long spaghetti packets to stop them sprawling all over the inside of the cupboard.

Easier access to very top shelves in corner cupboard

Clean oven thoroughly, then fit Bottom of Oven liner

Clean tops of kitchen cabinets and line with greaseproof paper.

Daily light is starting to creep in through the blinds now, and I feel like I am falling asleep, chances are if I stay sitting here I will end up doing a Zombie post.

I will wave and say TTFN and hope to be up and working before lunchtime
The cold never bothered me anyway

Ah, sadly a week for sudden and unexpected deaths - someone I have known since school (was in my youngest sister's year) and who is a close friend of my close friend, had a brain haemmorrage on Sunday, they operated, there was a further bleed and they decided to let her go. Some good - organs were donated.:A She was a clinical psychologist, bright and friendly, our paths crossed on various occasions through the years. She was only 49.:(

Makes me want to seize the day.

Had (other than the sad news and tears) a lovely holiday - but WHAT I looked like when I got off the day cruise boat back from Amalfi I dread to think - somehow, all day, I managed to park myself where the splashes landed:rotfl:- I even got a 'you scrub up well' after I had showered and changed:rotfl:
