My hugest Frog is eaten
Ooh well done, Dancemum.
Personally Mrs MP, I think you've done fantasically well on the Challenge, given the situation with your MiL. I take my hat off to you.
Pigpen, I think Dot had just arrived when I joined this thread, and from the get go she's been totally full-on (if not her clothes). I have no idea how you cope with the other ten while Dot's so busy being ... Dot. She is a very, very lucky little girl to have you as a mother.

We're watching Austinland and DD is loving it but keeps disappearing behind a cushion when there's kissing or something she considers 'embarrassing'. I'm going to get on with the ironing so at least one job will get done today!Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0

have decluttered DH back to work, after showing him the bedroom. i failed to mention that a few of his older (less likely to be missed things may have disappeared down the clothes bank) ive got all his training stuff out on the bed and tonight he will be party to some of that being culled.
BTW why does a man who always has a pocket full of kitchen roll own 57 fabric hankerchiefs? (well now he owns 30 as a few have fallen in the CS bag);)
HHCx2 at 3pm if anyone wants to join in.SPC~12 ot 124

I've just finished doing HALF my kitchen.. WMs both had a clean cycle though..Honey_Bear wrote: »Pigpen, I think Dot had just arrived when I joined this thread, and from the get go she's been totally full-on (if not her clothes). I don't feel very lucky to have her as a daughter right now.. she is still naked.. trying to squash Pixies head, she pulled the heads off flowers and threw a pot and broke it. She's rolled about in mud so she is quite filthy, nice educational stuff. Pigpen it is most unlike you to express anything other than total love and pragmatism for each and every single one of your children, so Dot must be running you ragged. I still think she is the luckiest little girl around to have you as a parent, because when you get to the point of saying you are finding her taxing, other people might have had a fleeting thought of hoping they didn't do their child some harm. Is there any way that one of your older skids can take Dot out for 30 minutes or so, just to give you a break?
Trying or organise the house while you're also preparing for Squeak's birthday party on top of Dot doing a Full On Dot would have defeated most by now, I would have thought.Better is good enough.0 -

I do love her to bits.. but I just want to tie her up for 10 minutes.. she is being fed, food she will no doubt refuse to eat and throw on the floor, and is then going in the bath, a 2 man job and then being wrestled into pj's another 2 man job and then being placed unceremoniously in her bed.. and sat on until she is asleep.. this is our current battle, getting her to go to bed and go to sleep rather than get up and create a fuss.. it is taking anything up to 45 minutes of screaming hysteria, snot, tears, fighting etc, every night to get her to sleep with a lot of disturbance for everyone else. We discussed this and decided as it is the school holidays it doesn't matter if she keeps the others awake they can stay asleep in the morning if they need to but it is important she learns to go to bed.. and I mean business!!
Her day time behaviour has been so much worse since we started with this so hopefully will settle again.. she has never been an easy one has she?
If you met her you'd think she was a lovely, full of beans and fun character.. she doesn't mean to be so destructive .. with the pot we looked at it being broken and said we were very sad the plant had no beautiful flowers any more and its home was broken.. she has since been out and told it she is sorry and kissed it.. She is only little and has a lot to learn.. and it is easier, and kinder to her, to vent my feelings here... or I might actually tie her up
She is sat outside chalking now.. still in the niff.. but she is quiet and actually doing a task rather than running from one mindlessly destructive act to another which is what she spends most of the day doing.
My others won't have her, they can't cope.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hmm. I don't doubt that someone with no skids (me) would find her adorable, but sadly I also always, without fail, want to take their batteries out after 10 minutes.
I totally love the picture I have of her kissing the plant better and saying sorry to it. I think the best way Dot can be described by someone who has never met her is 'a truly free spirit.'

more coping vibes from me as well pigpen, grab a cuppa and get a few mins rest yourself while shes calm and occupied.
bathroom blitzed, towels rolled so shelf looks neater. airing cupboard pulled out and tidied. found a couple of 'young' duvet sets i can offer to DD2 for her fellas kids so some should go from there.
another 2 bags of stuff for the clothes bank - need to take them before DH comes home from work in case he looks in them;)
need to run the dyson round and sort food then and it should be about wine o'clock.:DSPC~12 ot 124

I've washed the dishes & cleaned up the kitchen, gotten washed & dressed, made my bed & tided up my room, cleared the ironing pile completely (only an hours worth), and downloaded 37 free ebooks to my phone, all cookbooks! :money: DD has vacuumed through downstairs (mostly her mess anyway) and is now baking biscuits
House is looking good without much being done and since we're starting the decorating I really don't want to be putting too much effort in as it'll be tipped up before we know it lol
Off to find some more ebooks which aren't cookery books :rotfl: :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
