We haven't been anywhere since kids broke up other than a walk to shop. So today we going to soft play and McDonald's so other than essentials I'm doing nothing and tbh the house isn't looking bad.

DW on.. work surfaces all cleared, they need a scrub but they are visible.
    Food waste and recycling binned

I need to empty most of the gubbins from downstairs to upstairs to avoid meddling children tomorrow.. my ebay stuff and my 'loft' stuff can go upstairs into the girls room, I'll delegate stuff stacking in the girls room to DD2 and DD3 can help. I may have OH fill the Christmas cupboard too.. that should clear a chunk.

LOADS of toy shuffling needs doing too, thankfully it is a reasonable day so people can be outside on Sunday I hope!

I am loving my stove top kettle.. I am bit of a geek I think :p I MUST knit a cosy for my teapot!

    morning all
welcome back Bossy glad you had a good holiday and have come back refreshed and feeling like joining us again.
skinty glad to hear you got your cards found safely.
pigpen your not still with out power are you, or do you just love the kettle so much you want to carry on with it. hope someone can get to the bottom of lo's issues with you and get the help needed sorted out.

im home alone today so plan on giving house a good blitz. went warfarin clinic with mil yesterday afternoon then cos shes got nurse round today checking her i stayed and did all her cleaning and ran dyson round (shes only been back since monday and i filled it!!) i am now having to gently remind her there are somethings she is perfectly capable of doing for herself and i will help but im not a skivvy as i have my own family to care for as well. the other day when i was round she feined not being able to use the microwave so got me to 'help make a start on her dinner' when went through to tell her one part was done and i'd show her how to set it for the rest, she was sitting in her chair with a tea towel on her knee and said but i thought you were doing it and bringing it through- i did. i told her i wouldnt make it round on wednesday and she rang to say i had to as her tablets were too confusing as id put the ones she takes at tea time in the evening boxes. Whatever she only takes tablets twice a day and i'd split them into 2 lots so it was easy enough to sort.
My mum found it funny when i rang her and said shes going to make sure she moves to nearer me when she get old so i can run round after her as well. (i love the fact my mum doesnt consider herself old and insists on putting the bins out for her older neighbours and cutting their lawns)
    sorry mini rant over.

off to clear my floordrobe. (would i be considered a complete slattern if i confessed ive only just finished unpacking the clean stuff and non clothes items from our suitcase from we went away 2 weeks ago?)

the power was only off an hour but it appears to have popped the leccy kettle so that is dead and my 'spare' is in the back of the buried shed.. literally buried.. behind a tonne of soil! but I do love my stove top one so I am considering keeping on using it.. We have been without a microwave for the last 2 months since I had a frenzy and threw it out.

WMs both on, DW emptied and 2 items put in it.

Dots games today include constantly fiddling on my knitting... ggggrrrrrr.. pulling my hair and having hysteria that the milk is the wrong colour!! .. looks like a fun day ahead!!

party shop to do after packaging 2 ebay items... DD2 is posting those and OH and the boys are taking stuff to CS whether they like it or not!!

Tesco sorted for party crap for Sunday.. I may rope my sister in to making little cakes.. OH's mum is bringing trifle. I hate trifle but they like it so they can make their own.. she suggested sausage rolls but I have stacks of them and I won't be bothered with trifle.

Ice cream with cones.. saves washing up!
diet drinks so DS3 can have anything he likes :)
filled the freezer up a smidge too .. my food bill increases massively during the holidays lol.

Laundry to hang out.. lunch to prepare and I may do another cuppa too, to declutter some bickies ;)
